There is no crash or bubble pop lol. The prices just went from super hyperinflated at 3x retail to overinflated at 2.5x retail 🤣. The hype just went from ultra mega hype to high hype 😂. Stainless sports rolexes are still unavailable at ADs.
I’m glad I’m avoiding all this overthinking because I don’t consider anything a proper investment unless it can either provide passive income or I can skim some profits and leave the rest invested. It requires liquidity. I need to be able to sell in part on the same day at the sell price. Watches are just watches to me.
Right? People should buy watches to celebrate a moment in life or infatuated by its beauty. If the prices goes up used? Great. If not? Oh well. No one should stretch their budget for fomo. Hype is never a safe investment imo.
If you need it to appreciate you can’t afford it. And if you’re paying a premium based on the expectation of appreciation well I guess it better since you just gave (at least) part of your potential gain to the person who told you to expect it. I think this investment mindset is partly the result of smartphones making them functionally redundant and partly the result of the trinity attempting to imitate the sales model of Hermés Birkins. No company produces fewer widgets than it can reasonably sell. For all goods in all (uninterfered) markets buyers, not sellers set prices. There will never be a shortage of luxury goods (that isn’t a ruse). I guess it seems like a shortage if you can’t or won’t pay the (contrived black) market price, but that’s not the meaning of shortage
"Recycled gold" aside, there is such a thing as "green gold" which means it was mined with minimal ecological disruption, specifically without using mercury and cyanide, which are hellishly harmful to the environment and to artisanal miners in poor countries.

In regards to Rolex and some Tudor models, I noticed not that much difference in accuracy also some tutor models actually have a better winding I know it doesn’t make sense. I'm done buying new Rolex watches given their douche bag business model of very limited supply where store employees, insiders and friends snap up the best models before the public has a chance, and then offer them for sale on auction sites and elsewhere at a 20-30% markup (especially prevalent in Asia).
Let's hope the flexers go away. There is a grey market seller I had to correct...insisting steel model Rolex are a great investment and will always be worth more than what they paid. He went on to equate Rolex with attributes of money claiming they are fungible. 😆 🤣 😂 I told him I will be able to buy Rolex at a discount from an AD again.
Unfortunately you’ll never be able to buy Rolex at a discount from an AD. Sure, the prices have softened. References that were going between 2-3.5x MRSP are now going for between 1.5-2x MRSP. But they’re 1) still not available at an AD for most people, and 2) not at a discount for any person.
@kraitshakti This time is not different. Your data is a couple years worth of bubbles change your perspective and horizon. Back in 2008 you could. Early 2000's you could. Late 80's you could. Pretty much every tightening cycle.

@Samuel Burton perhaps you should re-read my comments. I did not say anywhere that you could buy a Rolex at a discount today, but you will be able to in the future. Economic cycles do occur. The world is at the peak of a cycle and will revert to the mean...they always do. This is not my opinion, this is fact and has been documented since before Roman times. As Alan Greenspan said many years ago, "markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent." One of the hardest things to do in investing is to recognize a bubble. It becomes glaringly obvious after it pops, but for those inside the bubble, it'll never end. So Samuel, this is not an opinion. I'd encourage you to get educated on what happens in a bubble. How recessions play out. Learn that "buy the dip" mentality only holds true with a fed backstop and reversion to the mean theory and how it works. I guarantee 💯 that you will be able to buy a Rolex at a discount at some point in the future. I don't normally forecast, but at this point I expect within a couple years max...but more likely a lot sooner. Shall we discuss bitcon now?

Watches have a long way to go down because of the speculative investments by people not actually appreciative of the watches in their basic form. Love the content! Keep up the good work!
I agree with some of the points but I think real serious watch collectors have a long term view of watch investing. They don’t buy to flip in 6 months. They buy and hold for at least 2-5 yrs. The wealthy stockpiled more cash than anyone in the last couple of years. They will continue to spend and this dip will be similar to the beginning of the pandemic where prices dropped then a strong climb for 2 years. This market will turn around and prices will be back up quickly once it does. There is way too much demand. Still hard to get quality watches at retail. This is an opportunity for some collectors to pick up hard pieces and will benefit greatly down the road.

Those Hoodinki Senergy Poster Boys are just trying to keep buyer confidence up...i feel like it will pop...im with Christian on this one
Here in the Philippines, I can still see SKX in the mall. Price around 300 dollars.
😮
There is no crash or bubble pop lol. The prices just went from super hyperinflated at 3x retail to overinflated at 2.5x retail 🤣. The hype just went from ultra mega hype to high hype 😂. Stainless sports rolexes are still unavailable at ADs.
former watch RUclipsr. I own that Seiko. In the black with blue bezel details. It's a star.
Watches meets Seinfeld
"Recycled gold" aside, there is such a thing as "green gold" which means it was mined with minimal ecological disruption, specifically without using mercury and cyanide, which are hellishly harmful to the environment and to artisanal miners in poor countries.
Anyone else miss Anna? I miss Anna.
TheoHarris: I drive a pristine k-kar - which Rolex should I pair it with ?
I am glad you’re one of the original watch content creators out there, a lot of these new channels have made this into a speculative buying spree, but remember one thing when you talk about 20 or 22 model, like with me and most it’s going to come down to does it have a new movement with at least a three day power reserve, example 39 mm Rolex Explorer they got discontinued imagine if they came out with a new one but now it has a three day power reserve for someone that wears a watch every other day that’s going to mean a lot, one of my issues with my Oris Aquila the shitty power reserve. In regards to Rolex and some Tudor models, I noticed not that much difference in accuracy also some tutor models actually have a better winding I know it doesn’t make sense. I do appreciate you have had a older collection with thinner watches, I’m starting to see the trend come back, thinner over thicker
Damn that Oris New York Harbor watch is beautiful!
Do you believe that the “Skitzy ditzy” is only for Rolex, or the watch market as a whole. This is from someone who recently bought a santos (new) and got a little worried w this video
I am still waiting for Seiko to do a Recreation of Bruce lee's Seiko 6139-6010 chronograph 🤞Oris is a great brand but not at brand new. I would only buy Oris pre owned they drop alot after buying. I will eventually buy a Oris 403 Pointer date but on the secondary market
The Oris Propilot has a 120 hours power reserve, not 70. Even more reason to buy one!
Funky ass movement I've heard. It has yet to bed in probably
You know….
16:30 Michael the younger brother trying to convince Christian the older brother that Seiko is cool
I think it is Michael the YES MAN! His head was bobbing up and down like he was on a Dash Board.
You said you are not an expert in finance, will.i.am, and one of the best financial advisors on the East Coast, with the highest returns from New York to Florida. And I can tell you that we are already in that recession dip, and that all products come down with the tide. As always, you provide both accurate information and incredible entertainment, thank you so much for your show.
huh
What T-shirt are you wearing today 🤔
Where’s Anna?
Anna is gone and been gone for a very long time and isn't coming back
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Sad, I guess Michael is more Christian’s type
great update on the watch market. spot on.
Its cute that they’re wearing almost matching pajamas. Guess the grease twins have sleep overs a lot.
I'm done buying new Rolex watches given their douche bag business model of very limited supply where store employees, insiders and friends snap up the best models before the public has a chance, and then offer them for sale on auction sites and elsewhere at a 20-30% markup (especially prevalent in Asia).
The market crash, no body known how much it will deprecate.
Just not buy, the buyer or dealer will play low ball when market crash
This video is sponsored by OshKosh 🤣
Christian speaking about Seikos just kills me. 🤣
You know 🙃
That being said…

I just....of course
I went for the safe investment and got myself a Rolex NFT.
WHERE…. I want one
Genius. Trailblazer.
I get you, Seiko divers do nothing for me either...
That rowing blazers that Christian is wearing is got me into watches
The market is bigger, but 95% of them have never seen a bear market. That would not make me comfortable. Quite the contrary
There is a pretty nice Patek Calatrava enamel dial in the Kapali Carsi market in Istanbul :) go grab it!
Seiko makes great watches. Not great investments. But Rolex are not great investments either. Sorry to break the news.
In the end, a watch or a diamond ring will be the price you pay for a loaf of bread. It’s been proven before…….
I vote more singing in Theo & Harris videos... trimendous work ❤️
Jean Paul Gaultier boys!
4K for Oris, what are you guys saying? Infomercial…
Who is Theo and Harris?
Where has Anna gone?
Stopped watching channel about two years ago. It showed up on my RUclips feed today. See you in another two years
Let's hope the flexers go away.
When and from which AD so we can all get in!!!!!
@@markedfortime As I said before, tell us where can you get a Rolex below retail. Which city in the World. Which AD, which grey market dealers?????? Where????? If you can't(and I know you can't) then stick a pipe in it and smoke. Just opinions and you know what they say!!!
Buy this watch, Hurry!!!Wait what..? Look, there’s an aeroplane….! It’s a cruel cruel world.
Great episode gents.
Yet another reason I only buy Rolex from the AD.
Truly rich people aren’t affected by economic downturns. They buy more stuff that they want when prices drop.
Love the pro human message in this video
It's popped
Sorry don’t agree. Failed attempt to save from the crash.
The top of the watch market and Rolex will follow the crypto market for a long time.
Micheal, sorry to say, either you have a cocaine problem or a cold but you couldn’t stop scratching your nose al the way through! Good content and agree you guys are spot on with the main line bullshit pedalled by Phillips and other big reporters. Watches have a long way to go down because of the speculative investments by people not actually appreciative of the watches in their basic form. Love the content! Keep up the good work!
I’m allergic to our studio space believe it or not! Working on it!
Michael... kudos on your appreciation of seiko. Christian, bang for buck find me better. If you appreciate GS you have to appreciate the roots.
💯

thanks for finally speaking the truth. All those self proclaimed experts are truly hurting the industry.
You know ,you know, you know, you know :)
Is this a watch channel or talking about everything under the sky to make it 30 minute video 😂
They fill their videos with 10 minutes of garbage for every 5 minutes of useful information. The millennial Archie Luxury.

Christian just say “Seikoglione” 🤜
