A soft reset sets the RNG to 0, and skidding / gliding into a surface also burns RNs. So this seems to guarantee a perfect blue faker pattern of 4 spindashes in a row:
- Soft reset the game
- Gliding into a surface briefly twice (you can see this at 0:11 and 0:22)
- Landing-glide into pink faker for all 3 hits
The amount of RNs burned when gliding into a surface can vary depending on how long you hold the glide input for, and pink faker's patterns aren't consistent, but this seems to hit a pretty consistent RN cluster of 4 consecutive spindashes for blue faker, which is way more meaningful. And pink knux standing only loses a few frames compared to pink knux spindashing, so that's not a big deal.
This also means that any attempt that gets up to the 0:11 RN burn must soft reset to reset the RNG again - though any failed attempt before that can just use the in-game restart feature.
0:28 - Falling through these platforms without landing on them is harder than it looks. The following boost pad yeets Knuckles into a corner if he goes too fast, so holding right is counterproductive and I can just not press any inputs - unfortunately this still occasionally yeets him into a corner, which is a reset.
0:37 - I lost a few frames on a hit for pink faker because i was playing this a little too safe. I don't want to jump too early each hit or else that'll force pink faker to jump, which is really significant timeloss.
