Fun fact: yes it is. It was originally a fangame yes, but it is licensed by Sega and is developed by the people who made the OFFICIAL Sonic mobile ports.
They paid so much respect to the source material in the new movie coming out its insane! Mario’s got a high bar to beat!

Yeah. 1st time was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. 2nd time was Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. 3rd time was Sonic Generations.

The movie design is primarily based on two of Eggman's robots. The Death Egg Robot from Sonic 2 in terms of it's physical likeness and the Gaint Eggman Robo from Sonic 3 and Knuckles in terms of it's weaponry and being powered by the Master Emerald.

Sonic, you have a good memory! Although, to be fair, compared to the number of adventures you've had, (and I don't just mean the games CALLED Adventure) that's a pretty low number. Seriously, the number of games you were in is just wild. And hell, one of the games that featured it was intended to be a retrospective of your more notable games, so it made sense.

Edit: Also it would be cool if the live-action Death Egg Robot could transform into the actual Death Egg itself, due to the girth and size, being the largest Death Egg Robot we've seen, but I doubt that will happen in the movie

I watched the sonic 2 movie last night death egg robot was massive!
When you look at the sonic movies. You don’t see cheap Alvin and Chipmunks films made for kids, You see films with actual characters, Good casting, Good effects and clearly stays faithful to the source material while still making it its own.
I remember how hard it was to beat the final boss for sonic forces cause I watched no RUclips videos about it and it took me over 2 hours to beat it

I have played sonic forces and I finished the game but some stages were hard but my dad tolt me try and try again until you succeed stage 17 25 and stage 28 were the three hard stages and there was a lot
