Small correction:
The master emerald turns thoughts into power in the movie universe. In the games, the master emerald has special powers that makes it the neutraliser and attractor of the chaos emeralds. It keeps Angel Island afloat with it's great power.
In Sonic Frontiers, it's actually revealed why the chaos emeralds are on earth. The master emerald attracted the chaos emerald-powered navigators that the ancients used to escape "The End"

In the games, it's the Chaos Emeralds that transform your thoughts into power. The Master Emerald is just known to equal the power of the 7 Emeralds, meaning you can achieve a Super Form with it, and like you said, it keeps Angel Island in the sky

The "Kiki" is actually supposed to be the Coconut, the monkey badniks that appear since Sonic 2 (1992). Guess Lego messed up with the name since they're similar robots.
