Some of you have mentioned that you were looking for a lighter gimbal compared to the DJI Ronin-S. I've been traveling with the Crane Plus for a few months now and can highly recommend this as a good choice for the lighter weight setups.

Keep the tutorials coming. I learn something new every time. BTW, I figured out how to get the Crane zoom button and record start/stop to work, at least for my Sony. Make sure the camera brand is saved in the software setting via Zhiyun Gimbal Tool . Then it's all about start up sequence. Turn Crane and camera off. Have control cable connected to Crane and camera. Now press Crane power on switch and hold it pressed for at least 6-7 seconds after power light turns blue. This gives the gimbal startup time. Then power on camera and wait another 6-7 seconds before pressing any buttons. This works for my Sony a6500, hope it works for you.
I was struggling with the "double tap to record" thing with SONY cameras too, until I figured out how to do it. You have to connect the camera to the gimbal using the cable, with both the camera and gimbal switched off. Then turn on the camera and then turn on the gimbal. And voila! You can start/stop recording double tapping the gimbal button. Enjoy! :)
The recording button and zooming works for me, I'm using a6500 and Sony 18-105 (has power zoom). Not sure why yours not working.
You should always turn on the gimbal first. Also the zoom rocker works with clearzoom in video mode or after you start recording in photo mode.
Your pronunciation of Zhiyun is much better in this video too. Awesome! Everybody else is still saying the name incorrectly.
FYI: 智云 (zhì yún) means Wisdom/Knowledge Cloud. 智 (zhì) means wisdom, knowledge/ 云 (yún) means Cloud.

I use the v2 with a Sony a6500. The start and stop record/photo feature works part time. When filming a sequence, I have found that it is best to get it in the mode you want to shoot with because, switching modes mid stream doesn't always work. All said, it provides excellent stable footage, and, that's the goal. I won't leave home without it.
Gah I just wish that button would work. I dont even care about the zooming feature much

The Plus is my fave. It's such a great sweetspot between portability and features. I hardly use the crane 2 at all 😬 amazing review Kitty!
Edited to add: you can definitely do long exposure motion timelapses with this gimbal with the Panasonic cameras. Does it not work with the Sony connected? That is such a shame!

My kids and I are a gimbal/tripod (few other things) away from starting something that my kids and I can do together creating memories, having fun and who knows what may come... Hey Kitty, so does the quick release plate system help with the balance of the camera as far as pushing the camera out further. Because I have the sony a6300 with the zhiyun crane plus and I have been having trouble for months trying to balance and even ask my mentor for help because he has a zhiyun crane as well and could not balance it. I really need help before I sell it and try a different product. Help Please
A tip so that you don’t lose the mounting screw is to store it by putting it in the hole for the lens mount when it’s not in use.

This was a great review. I have a Sony A5100 but I usually use a Samyang 12mm f2.0, and I'm hoping to get a Crane Plus eventually, but I hope it can handle being front-heavy. The lens ins't crazy heavy or huge, but enough that the weight proportions are going to be a little weird. It'll be a long while before I can afford the Crane though.
It doesnt look like itd be front heavy with that lens. You should be good. You can buy me one and I can test it for ya haha jk jk

Hey Kitty, Great review as usual. Thank you. Do you find the crane plus to be much easier to carry around than the crane 2. I have the crane 2 but wished it was a little less bulky. I was tempted to get a backup gimbal that is lighter but not sure it is worth it to go from crane 2 to crane plus. Not sure it would be that much less bulky. Love the features on the Ronin S but man, to go even more heavier, no way. which do you carry around the most on run and gun type activities?

I just found your channel. I am subscribed because with just watching two of your videos, I'm sold. Great quality content. One question: Do you have to re-adjust/balance the gimbal once you unmount the camera and put it back on? Or is it always set as long as the exact same camera and exact lens are being used?

Emanuel Bermudez I used my dad's cameras and it took me 8 years before I had my own. I used the ones at school or you can rent. I've been shooting now for 13 years

nice video, nice presenter, great transitions and story but the gimbal looks jerky, its probably worth spending the extra Ronin for peace of mind. Whilst the video was 1 Year ago its still an up there Gimbal that isn't worth it's current used or new price. Nothing can be perfect, we can not expect price matched with a red carpet always, but the 3rd series from Zhiyun matched with price and current technology should have this nailed as buttery smooth. Nice hair x

Damn you're cute! I wish I had found you 3 years ago when I bought my Zhiyun. Anyway, had I found you then I would have asked how do you go from one mode to another. I've tried and tried to figure that out and have yet to succeed. If you are still there would you please refer me to a place I've not been yet for direction? I may have messed up the motors on this thing and I haven't made one video with it. The "it" I'm referring to is a Zhiyun Crane Plus
