I so so love the follow focus system on this. The crane 2 one was a pain in a butt trying to balance it. The Weebill is such a well thought out piece of kit
spook reading some of the reviews that were done in November. I can understand that people didn’t like it, but I think they have updated the firmware to solve some issues. Also I think people might not have the correct settings dialled in. Do you have a gimbal, if so what one?
Hopefully Zhiyun will add more cameras for complete compatibility. My Crane 2 allows me to control my camera settings and do focus (without the motor) on my Canon cameras from the gimbal handle. I like this gimbal...the form factor and trigger control like the Smooth 4. Unfortunately, Zhiyun has not brought full functionality to Canon and Sony cameras. Some features work, but not all. Zhiyun told me that they are working on expanding cameras and features in the future.
Hi Jeven, I love your videos! ...Weebill maybe work for certain situations with GH5, IBIS helps a lot. I purchase weebill for GH5s and it is useless. I have perfect balance, I did full calibration and upgrade. I was testing this out with few lenses and all motor strengths ...even with my light Laowa 7,5mm which i about 200g....still the video is soooooo shaky. It supposed to work with up to 3kg payload, it doesn't do the job with 1/3 of this. GH5s+Laowa7,5mm is around 800g. There are o lot of reviews out there and it looks like all of that are sponsored videos by Zhiyun. Guys are using GH5 with dual IBIS + they are slowing down the footage and it looks great but.... it is kind of ....cheating.
I am a Weeble owner. Yes, I've had challenges with occasional jitters which has been frustrating. You think you have a perfect shot, only to find out later there has been a sudden motor movement. I have spent a lot of time working with settings, but I think it's the nature of the gimbal. However, I love the travel friendly size & long battery life. HOWEVER, it's important to point out some quality concerns. Straight out of the box I had a problem with the plate tightening screws. Zhyun was kind enough to send a replacement part from China. Also, it would no longer start up after about 4 weeks of use and needed to be sent in for repair. The insured shipping (at my cost) is expensive. It feels cheaply built, and given early problems I wonder how long it will last. If I had to do it over I would definitely buy something more rugged and time tested.
landrover1956 it looked like you ran into a barrage of unfortunate events. I have used the weebill with the gh5 and some prime as well as zoom lenses and for a couple of months now and i have to say the combination worked perfectly like they are born to pair. The main feature and the most significant one i love about this gimbal is its light weight and the footage quality it supports despite being small. well to be honest it cannot be compared with some other larger gimbals like the crane 3, ronin-s or so in terms of footage stability but the results aren’t not that bad at all. I m so far happy with it because it satisfies my needs. If you really know what you are looking for and do some research or even hand-on testing before going for the thing instead of just grabbing it and hoping for some good lucks, you will make it.
Theres a Webill Lab for sale second hand at the mo. I dunno wether to grab it now as I was guna buy a RS3 Mini so I'll save myself £170 Can this Webill Lab hold a7ii + 90mm Macro 2.8, and the a7ii + Tamron 28-75mm 2.8? If anyone can let me know asap if you have any experience with this as I could buy it now, or I could spend twice as much for a RS3 Mini. obviously the mini rs3 is better, but will this webill hold the lenses I mentioned with the a7iii. Cheers
Handle looks too thick to hold for a long time. Reminds me of my old Beholder gimbal that made your hand tired after 10 minutes. I shoot everyday with a gimbal and would highly recommend a dual handle grip. Footage is SO much smoother and it’s less tiring
I had one and quickly sold it after a week. Having the weight of the batteries ABOVE the handle is just really bad for balance and ergonomics. What was Zhiyun thinking?
Nice review, thank you. For what it's worth I'm finding GH5 + 12-35 F2.8 @ F4-5.6 with manual focus (no servo focus, no iphone attached) is delivering fine results. Simply tap on manual focus assist screen icon for initial focus.
Footage is pretty suspect. Wide angle shots should barely have any shake... no matter the skills of the operator. This gimbal is great in design, but i wish they used some stronger motors. I think a lot of people wouldn't mind a slight adjustment in gimbal size for some stronger motors.
Totally unrelated but, dude, your studio camera is amazing. Even after RUclips's compression, I can still see details in your iris and that you are wearing contacts. What camera do you use? I know your lighting is amazing too, so that helps.
Hi Jeven, good video as usual. I am a little confused about which gimbal to buy for my Sony a6400 set up. Also I want to tell you I do not have an Iphone but a LG G6 android 7.0. I have seen also your review about the Ronin SC and the other video with the comparison Ronin Wheebill on a channel of a friend of yours and the sensation is that the Ronin SC looks more solid built. 'Though I would prefer the Wheebill as the great idea Zhiyun devoleped in order to use the tripod as a handle grip make me feel it helps to better handling the gimbal better and i can imagine it distributes the weight in a more ergonomical way. On the other side I have seen on another video the shots were sometimes not so stables and the motors were shaking when moving down the camera. Also saw that Ronin behave much better on a paralel axis pan while the Weebill hardly stays alined with the horizon. My last doubt is about the apps. Do u know if they both work well on an android devices? With my MAVIC PRO, though my LG G6 is not on the list of the compatible devices, it works well and I guess it could work also on the Ronin app being also a DJI product, but not sure as could find any reviews on that. Dammed it seems all using apple devices!!! What about the ZHIYUN app?? I have heard it works very bad and a lot of people complaing for that. So, what should I buy then? I would indeed apreciate your sincere advise. Thank in advance Giuseppe
Hey Jeven. Great video as always. I shoot with the GH5 and Sony A7iii. I have the Crane M and Crane 2. I’m thinking of selling both and getting a new gimbal. I expect you are going to say the weebill is too small? If so would you suggest the Moza air 2 or the Ronin S? I’m leaning toward the Moza air 2. With the Sony the autofocus is pretty good (unlike the GH5) so I don’t think I’ll need any follow focus motor. I had it for the Crane 2 with the GH5 and almost never used it. Let me know what you think. Craig.
The price tag is pretty nice for something that's very flexible. But as someone who use Ricoh GR and did a lot of street photography rather than video is this thing really fit for me or there's cheaper and better option.
I am saving to buy one here in NZ btw great to see ZhiYun have made the quick releases for the handle available separately now.!!! Are you using an IPhone for the app as the Android version apparently needs more work on it..... Thanks Laurie
Yes, this gimbal is nice! Been trying to work this tech in my content creation. As far as the quick release plates (1:48), buying a quantity of one (1) will take care of switching back and forth, or do I need to get a quantity of two (2)?
Hi Jeven, I still noticed some jitters in the footage you shot, could you expound on what issues you were having at the start, you kind of went over that part too quickly. I'm looking to buy a gimbal for the first time and I like your feedback, you always do great reviews! Thanks for the video!
@@JevenDovey Thanks man I appreciate you getting back to me. I've been rocking a gimbal to vlog. Your channels been a big help. Your 20 mistakes video massive help i've got some changes to make for sure!!
Hey Jeven - do you know if the Lumix G7 would work with the Weebill Lab? The last compatibility PDF Zhiyun put out was around December 2018 - and only the GH5 was listed.
I wanted this gimbal so bad when I heard about it. It could even handle a pretty big payload, they didn't tell us if all the weight is in the back. can't handle heavy lenses. I use A6500 and 16mm right now but who know what i'll be using in 6 months. I'm thinking about the Moza Air 2. I like the fact that if i walk outside i can throw on an ND filter and not have to rebalance.
Hi Jeven, this is such a good review ... well done! A quick question mate, do you think it's worth buying this gimbal with Lumix S1 and its 24-105mm f/4 lens? the overall weight is roughly 2kg while weebill says it can support 3kg, but am not sure considering the small size of the gimabl... any thoughts? many thanks
i had it for a week when it just came out. couldn't get it to even balance with the olympus 12-40 without touching the back motor. the footage is def jitters noticeably. I've had 3 gimbals prior to this one. id say weebil lab is the worst in terms of footage stability. returned mine btw.

So I have the GH5 with 12-35mm lens and actually had this stabilizer for about a month. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My biggest concern ended up being taxing the motors if I wanted to use a heavier lens. It work great in my experience with my set up during the time I had it. I just sent it back to B&H and purchased the Ronin-S due to the holiday sale price being $549...Long story short, I was able to get the Ronin-S for $50 cheaper than the Weebill. My question to you is do you think I made the right decision? I also have a Nikon D750 which is obviously quite a bit bigger that the GH5 and I may use it also from time to time. I was trying to future-proof my small business and felt good about it, even though I am yet to use a Ronin-S to know for sure. I just wanted to know your thoughts! Thanks! Great video and great stabilizer.
It all depends on what you're shooting. For me I'd rather carry the Weebill Lab when I am run and gun shooting. However, the Ronin-S is better for heavy setups and if you're not worried about space then its a good one to use. You also have to think how long you'll be using the gimbal for. The ronin-s will get heavy after long periods of use whereas the Weebill Lab is pretty light
@@JevenDovey So far my work has centered around short promotional videos with the GH5 in conjunction with drone footage. Usually a couple of hours. Weddings may start being incorporated too. I was looking at the cost factor with the sale and not knowing what camera a may end up using in the future as well. I have to say I really enjoyed it while I had it! Thanks!
They have 3 different kits. You really only need the gimbal and the basic kit. I linked to the combo in the description. If you want some more accessories like the backpack then they have bigger kits that have more
Hi Jeven, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. What advice would you give those trying to decide between this and the Ronin S, seems like they are quite different, size etc
Hi Jeven . I have a gh5 which we all know doesn't have great autofocus. If i get this gimbal without the follow focus would I still be able to get good footage. Also are you using autofocus when u record you videos in your studio or is t manual focus.
Hej Jeven, I'm hoping this will work with a phone in a cage. The issue i'm having with the osmo mobile 2 is, having to keep gun grip always, to avoid getting the gimbal in the shot with wide lenses. I am hoping this gimbal will solve this issue. Do you know by chance? (and thanx again, following you and learning a lot)
I currently own the Crane V2, would the WeeBill be a nice upgrade? Does it perform better? From most videos I’ve seen I think performance is somehow the same? I would also like to know which lenses can you balance on the WeeBill that you couldn’t or wasn’t as smooth in the Crane V2 or similar. I heard that Small HD released some counter weights so we can balance other lenses but I’m still wondering if these motors are better than the V2 , Crane Plus, & Crane 2.
as far as stabilisation goes, i see no reason to update from my crane v2, the size of the gimbal and how it fits into a bag is cool but if were getting paid to do a shoot we will just simply bring our gear and usually won't be that far away from where we are shooting so i thing a gimbal upgrade for me is unnesscesary, we all want to buy new tech but we have to stop and question if we really need it. If it really makes your workflow faster, by all means buys it but sometimes stop and question, is it going to make my videos better? that is the big question, if ergonomics win and you make enough money with your gear, then buy it
nothing work until you update frimware. Well it's been one year and i still can't upgrade firmware. it allways fail to upgrade (i change my phone to a one plus 6 that is listed as compatible) still dosen't work. Does someone have tip ? the message i get is simply failed to upgrade informations try again.
I think your brick wall is upside down? But yes the weebill is a nice peace of gimbal. I buy a used one last days and sell now my Crane LAB 3, this is too big for travel.
After try again and again, I still could not get a smooth and stable shooting with my gimbal. Even though, the gimbal itself could not feel any vibration. And I don't like the thumb screw for fix the camera.
Hey man, how does your behind the scenes look like when you record this videos. I'm a streamer, and I'm using continuous light but they always shine way to much and i can't have ambient light. Wondering what your setup looks like and how you accomplish the look that you have.
Hey man great video! I'm trying to get as minimal as possible with my gear so i love the concept of this gimbal but the footage i've seen everywhere still looks a bit jerky to me, honestly i would love to test this to confirm it or maybe you can do it but i feel like the motors are not as strong as the older cranes v2 and plus. I'm sure it can be saved in post if necessary but for gimbal shots i always try to get them as smooth as possible and rarely end up having to add stabilization in post. I can't wait to see how the moza air x will perform
Would this gimbal be enough for a Canon EOS 70D? I like all is said about the Gimbal so far and I own a smooth 4 so the learning curve would be simple. I am just on the fence about buying the weebill lab or should I wait for the Crane 3 Lab. My main concern is if thg he Weebill can really handle the weight of my camera with some lenses...
It will probably work with the 70D. I've seen other people using sony cameras with bigger lenses on this gimbal. The specs say it will work up to 6 lbs.
I heard that Zhiyun is pulling these from market, these have motors problem, motors aren’t strong enough, little extra or rapid movement makes footage shaky because motors cant resist that much
Hey Jeven! Its me MC Mania. Can you help me as I am torn between Moza air 2 or the Zhiyun crane 2? Im using Canon 200D, 80D and A7 iii. I have abit of a hesitation with the weebill. Hope to hear from you the soonest.
Hi Jeven, please tell me how to update to the latest firmware? mine is v1.82 and I believe v1.84 is the latest, When I connect my Weebal through the ZY PLAY app it is not alerting me to update firmware. The Zhiyun tech site is useless really its not showing anything, thank you great video btw
I've been wanting to get this Weebill for about 2 months now... at $900AUD ... I'm hoping to get at least $100 off at the after-Christmas sales... not holding my breath thou.. I'm no professional, but I have a great passion for it and love creating footage... and seeing what I captured... but just last week I went and purchased the Osmo Pocket (I had to buy it before anyone else did and it was JUST released that very day and I knew it would sell out so I had to be quick)...and that was $600AUD... so that threw my craving out for this gimbal... thou I STILL want it and I want it badly... I have the Panasonic 4K Camcorder... and a Panasonic TZ-80 camera... I'm assuming these will be fine with this gimbal???...
TJ Lonsdale-Jones thanks for that info... thou I have seen a couple of vids of Ronin... but I always keep coming back to the Weebill... something about that gimbal really appeals to me... from the very first moment I seen a video of it... maybe I should check out more vids of the Ronin.
TJ Lonsdale-Jones I just watched some vids on the Ronin.... looks much bigger than a Weebill... plus it's hard to find where to buy... it's not available at Camerahouse... EBay prices were nearly the same as the Weebill, if not more expensive... Weebill seems to be more popular...
Dude thank you so much for putting your test footage in real time and not the damn slow motion like 90% of youtubers.
I so so love the follow focus system on this. The crane 2 one was a pain in a butt trying to balance it. The Weebill is such a well thought out piece of kit
Yes very well thought out. I wont use the focus on the Crane 2. I never could get it to work right. THe weebill just works so easily

Thanks!
Jeven. Do you need two quick setup kits or does the kit come with everything needed. It’s not clear on any website. Thanks
Is it work with Canon EOS D750 dslr with 18 to 55kit lens?
I would love to see if this gimbal works with the metabones Speedbooster and a tokina 11-16 👀🤘🏻
I don't have that combo but I think it will work fine.
good luck with the weebill mine lasted three weeks roll axis stopped working so useless sent back bought ronin
Hi Jeven .
I have a gh5 which we all know doesn't have great autofocus. If i get this gimbal without the follow focus would I still be able to get good footage. Also are you using autofocus when u record you videos in your studio or is t manual focus.
I always shoot manual focus.
Jeven Dovey do you still use the follow focus on the gimbal then?
Hej Jeven, I'm hoping this will work with a phone in a cage. The issue i'm having with the osmo mobile 2 is, having to keep gun grip always, to avoid getting the gimbal in the shot with wide lenses. I am hoping this gimbal will solve this issue. Do you know by chance? (and thanx again, following you and learning a lot)
Hi sir, can you make a video on how to remove sun flare in a video
I currently own the Crane V2, would the WeeBill be a nice upgrade? Does it perform better? From most videos I’ve seen I think performance is somehow the same? I would also like to know which lenses can you balance on the WeeBill that you couldn’t or wasn’t as smooth in the Crane V2 or similar. I heard that Small HD released some counter weights so we can balance other lenses but I’m still wondering if these motors are better than the V2 , Crane Plus, & Crane 2.
I have owned v2 and v2 is way better gimbal than weebill. Firmware update could not save weebill.
Mo Kang ??? That’s odd. What made you say that?
6:27 jitters on the footage. It is a known problem with WEEBILL LAB. I wish Zhiyun can fix this with a firmware update.
I noticed it only happens once in a while and mainly on my 8mm. I gotta test the motor settings and see if I can eliminate it with that lens
@@JevenDovey That will be cool. Thanks!
There is problem with weebill motors and zhiyun will be pulling units from market
@@JunaidKureshi How do you know this?
Junaid Kureshi I read about this too.
as far as stabilisation goes, i see no reason to update from my crane v2, the size of the gimbal and how it fits into a bag is cool but if were getting paid to do a shoot we will just simply bring our gear and usually won't be that far away from where we are shooting so i thing a gimbal upgrade for me is unnesscesary, we all want to buy new tech but we have to stop and question if we really need it. If it really makes your workflow faster, by all means buys it but sometimes stop and question, is it going to make my videos better? that is the big question, if ergonomics win and you make enough money with your gear, then buy it
I was just about to buy one and then the Ronin SC came out. I think most reviews are saying the SC is slightly better.
nothing work until you update frimware. Well it's been one year and i still can't upgrade firmware. it allways fail to upgrade (i change my phone to a one plus 6 that is listed as compatible) still dosen't work. Does someone have tip ? the message i get is simply failed to upgrade informations try again.
I have problem with vortex mode. doesnt work when camera is recording what is front of me.
How much does your LUMIX weigh? I’m using an a7iii. They’re pretty close?
I think your brick wall is upside down? But yes the weebill is a nice peace of gimbal. I buy a used one last days and sell now my Crane LAB 3, this is too big for travel.
can you test this with a fuji camera please...
After try again and again, I still could not get a smooth and stable shooting with my gimbal. Even though, the gimbal itself could not feel any vibration. And I don't like the thumb screw for fix the camera.
Can you add a small freeworld monitor to this set up?? Gh5 user
It is worth spending the extra $$ on this versus the Zhiyun Crane V2 or 2?
I like this much better than the crane 2. It’s too bulky. The Weebill LAB is small and light
Which gimbal would you recommend for a Canon G7X Mark ii user? And if I use a gimbal would I turn off camera stabilization?
Yes and yes
@@JevenDovey cool thanks... so does that mean this gimbal would work for my camera?
Great Video Jeven. Looking for your recommendation on lenses for a Sony Ar7III? And what model Kimbal? I am looking at the Crane 3.
Hey man, how does your behind the scenes look like when you record this videos. I'm a streamer, and I'm using continuous light but they always shine way to much and i can't have ambient light. Wondering what your setup looks like and how you accomplish the look that you have.
h3xt0r He did a studio setup a while back. Search for it on his channel.
Can i use canon 80d with 24mm lens for this one???
Still saw sone jitters in the footage. Could you pls try out the feiyutach ak2000? Im loving this gimbal! Provides insanely smooth footage!
this gimbal has everything to be perfect, but I see many video samples with
some jitters, so I'm cautious
Would this gimbal be enough for a Canon EOS 70D? I like all is said about the Gimbal so far and I own a smooth 4 so the learning curve would be simple. I am just on the fence about buying the weebill lab or should I wait for the Crane 3 Lab. My main concern is if thg he Weebill can really handle the weight of my camera with some lenses...
It will probably work with the 70D. I've seen other people using sony cameras with bigger lenses on this gimbal. The specs say it will work up to 6 lbs.
thanks for our review, it is wonderful, but to be honest, Weebill is too samll that can't support a big camera, becuase the balance is difficult.
Jeven, would these combos work with WeeBill Lab? A7R3 with (1) Batis 135 (2) Batis 25 (3) 85 GM (4) 16-35 GM Thanks for your help!
Might be pushing the weight limit. I’d see if other RUclipsrs are using any of those combos
It nearly doesn't work with the 16-35 gm
Hi this is G2CW01?
I heard that Zhiyun is pulling these from market, these have motors problem, motors aren’t strong enough, little extra or rapid movement makes footage shaky because motors cant resist that much
Can you use this gimbal on a Canon M50?
Can we use the follow focus on Fujifilm XT3? Thank you
Hey Jeven! Its me MC Mania. Can you help me as I am torn between Moza air 2 or the Zhiyun crane 2? Im using Canon 200D, 80D and A7 iii. I have abit of a hesitation with the weebill. Hope to hear from you the soonest.
Were you able to get the motion time lapse to work?
Hi Jeven, please tell me how to update to the latest firmware? mine is v1.82 and I believe v1.84 is the latest, When I connect my Weebal through the ZY PLAY app it is not alerting me to update firmware. The Zhiyun tech site is useless really its not showing anything, thank you great video btw
Lol thanks for your reply Jeven appreciate it..... enjoy your free Weebill ;(
I've been wanting to get this Weebill for about 2 months now... at $900AUD ...
This gimbal will work great with those cameras.
Brett G dji has their Christmas sale and the ronin-s is only $799AUD and is a much better gimbal than the weebill lab.
