Maternal granny was known for her preserves and cobblers with fresh peaches and blackberries, My paternal granny was known for her fried chicken with grits and gravy. I miss them so much. Years ago I dated a beautiful Jamaican man. He made a hot green curry Jamaican chicken meal, with rice n peas. It was the 1st time I ever had spicy food,( I just left the rock a few years before ( newfoundland), it was Delicious. And began my journey into loving spicy food. I have been searching the Web to try and find that recipe. He said that it was his nanny's recipe. I'm gonna give this one a go . Also While having a lovely vacation in montego Bay comeagle Bay, we stayed at Avila, and the lovely nanny there who took care of us and made us jerk chicken. I haven't had it like that since. Hoping this channel has nanny's jerk chicken.
