@@imswezi9499 yes but to correct you they were not Indian immigrants rather indentured servants. After slavery was abolished they were brought to the Caribbean by the British to replace the Africans. But that really has nothing to do with this video or my previous comment because the Caribbean is a diverse melting pot of races combined where we all learn from each others ancestral ways.

You're giving zeros and ones and then putting potatoes, carrots, peas and did say corn (?!) in your curry chicken? That's a different dish. Disqualified for not being curry chicken.

I'm a Tru caribbean woman from Trinidad and I appreciate a good curry chicken or goat long as it has color taste and a good smell. I realize we all have our preferences but I wouldn't shit on food before even REALLY trying it

This wasn't a proper test. Where was the Trinidadian, Guyanese and Surinamese in this challenge. I mean they would know more about curries than the rest of the Caribbean. No offence.
I just went to a Jamaican restaurant by my house and ordered the Curry chicken (it was the only thing available) with rice and peas and fried plantains. I washed it down with some Appleton Estate 12 year. Best meal in a long time

@@chrissybear. I don’t think buzz feed knows what ratings the cast will give because they don’t know how the food will turn out. Though it’s a competition the rules should be more strict to avoid shady moves like this.
Honestly reminds me of an episode of Come Dine With Me, where one lass purposely scored everyone out of 5 instead of the usual 10, and technically won bc of it, so the producers literally made her give proper scores instead bc she was cheating the system

@@NoDoubtItsKenz We don’t add extras to every curry, but for some curries peas and corn are a specialty, especially in South Asian dishes. It’s interesting to see how curries are different for differing countries.

Give y’all a secret, key to curry is curry powder and Marsala 3:1 ratio mixed together with diced onions and garlic and lil bit of water and made into a thick paste. Now comes the most important part, trying that up properly until the oil oozes out of that said paste. This is key part to making curry.
Thats why they got rid of her. She never gave out fair scores but always wanted to win. Am glad she gone!

Yes we do add green pigeon peas to our curry sometimes, sometimes we put potato too or even eddoes. And sometimes we just cook it just so. We don't put corn and carrots in our curry though so I don't know what that's about. A fellow Trini living in the Caribbean.
I just want to be the unbiased judge for all 4 of their dishes - it all looks great

My grandma is from saint mary Jamaica I lived with her up until I was 18, her curry came out a nice yellow, great backend kick. With some rice ooo boi
As a guyanese trini 🇬🇾🇹🇹, after cleaning and washing your chicken with lime & white vinegar, you add, salt, black pepper, grated onion, grated garlic, minced chives, mined celery, hot pepper (bird pepper), pimento 🌶️ pepper, a bit of ginger, CURRY POWDER, masala, grounded geera and a bit tumeric powder. Mix well, allow it to sit for a few hours. Put your cast iron pot on the stove, allow to get hot, add some oil, wait until when you can literally see /feel the heat coming off the oil, throw in the chicken, stir well, cover and let all the water fry out until it comes back to just oil in the pan, add potatoes, stir. Add ENOUGH water to make a sauce, cover & let it boil until potatoes are soft. To thicken sauce, remove a few of the cubed potatoes, mash it up and add it back to the sauce. Check for taste. Turn off stove, add some freshly chopped chive for garnish. Serve over hot white 🍚 rice or with dhal Puri.

Whooo that sounds like a long azz day of cooking. Here's the thing- most people don't know how much of each seasoning to add. So it may not taste as good if your not Caribbean. Sounds good though

You can have food ready in no time. 🤔 To solve the amount of seasoning problem. AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE OF EACH. The only thing you have to be careful with is the salt. Salty food isn't good for you.
