hey, great film, what lenses did u use, and did u shot Black and white or its post ?

Thanks! I have those concerns as well, hence why I made this. Point taken about the PCs, however, as you can see I really dislike CGI it always looks so plastic to me. I prefer real locations, real sets and real models like they used to with 2001 and Blade Runner, I think it looks infinitely better than CGI and wish they'd return to that. Even if I used CGI for a few shots it would really clash. Only thing I could do is to find PCs that were so dark that you can't tell their specific models.

@alexpj19 thanks! I used the Canon 17-55 IS almost exclusively - I have other lenses but I wanted to shoot many scenes wide because showing the locations, the world this man lives in, was obviously important in this film. I shot native black and white as well, I think it's better to do so because things look different in BW, for instance certain shots will look better if textures and shapes are prominent so it's important to see that instantly as you shoot :)

@animehunter0808 there's nothing more fulfilling than being able to inspire others the way I've always been inspired by filmmakers. This film was one of the least expensive films I've ever made (all I had is a friend in a suit holding a briefcase, a camera and a laptop) and we could only shot for one day. Yet it's one of my best films which goes to show that it's not about resources, it's about resourcefulness. Anyone can do it, and should do it, if they want to do it.

@roshinishah thank you. I can't take full credit though, if I did anything well, it's because I stood on the shoulders of giants. Most of the ideas from this movie were inspired by other incredible sci fi movies, highly recommended: "2001", "blade runner", "thx 1138", "equilibrium", "zeitgeist" which is actually a documentary and I have always admired the sonic atmosphere of david lynch films and the look of the futuristic cities in "Superman" and this graphic novel called "Terminal City" :)

It does have a story, as much of a story any 4 minute film would have, a simple story but it's there. Maybe you think there isn't because it's told entirely visually so it requires some more work, being visually literate so some people will get it and some won't. That's fine. Happy you enjoyed the production regardless, thanks!

For sure, even with cell phones there are companies collecting info on your location and interests for their corporate interests - but making this movie, I didnt necessarily want to make it so literal, to me it was a metaphor (and becoming reality) of how much power the corporate world has over its people whose lives are being degraded because of it.

@YetAnthony thanks! Though there are some words in the epilogue to explain some things in case you didn't get it but it was more for the purpose of showing that there is some ground behind the possibility of this future.

Thank you so much, I'm really flattered. Which of my shorts did you like and which did you dislike and do you mind telling me why briefly? I'm curious to know, that's how I learn the craft :)

@Gamer2Gamers i have the same problem too, try to do as much possible with what you have (all i had was one actor). Eventually people come around when they appreciate your work :)

Very good.. you could easily remake '1984' in this format... Very nicely done..
Oops..wait a second..... be right back.....

Very poetic vision of the New World Order System coming. Liked the fact that u didn´t use any colours, made the situation and atmosphere more intense and disparate. It´s a quite dark and cold vision of the future events. Lets hope it wont be that way...

The Device was really fun to watch, you have some really sophisticated special effects - what program(s) did you use to make them? Great job!

I wish there was people like you here in toronto - it seems no one wants to collab or won't respond to e-mails just to go out and create cool things like this - very inspiring work.

Scary, but unfortunately very possible. In fact, we're moving in that direction with the tracking software for mobile phones.
The film is very elegant and I certainly like it very much. I'm only missing some futuristic objects -for example the PCs that you see in the backgroung are not very likely to be 2089 computers. Some CGI would help (if you need it in future projects maybe we could collaborate).

That was pretty cool! I liked the music. Very futuristic and something you can kinda move to. The film was mysterious and it was like reading a hard book that made you think and hard it did. Just a mystery of a film. I liked it. Cool.

Adobe After Effects for all the video effects. They were my first try so they do need some improvement.

At the end that is Aaron Russo. He was a friend of David Rockefeller. He told Aaron about all these things, then he was murdered, for putting out a movie about it. I have the documentary saved.

For sure, that was one of the inspirations for this. Specifically: THX, 1984, Zeitgeist (the movie, original cut), 2001, The Corporation, Equilibrium. All highly recommended if you like this short, except THX I'm actually not a fan of it but thought the premise and production of it was interesting. I was also inspired by the world of Ridley Scott and David Lynch in terms of atmosphere.
