I bought the cheapest and most disgusting Tacoma (episode 1: a deep clean)

- I bought this 2018 Toyota tacoma trd sport off of a dude for $13,000. The truck has been beaten and destroyed and has a (suspected) blown engine
It’s a 6 speed manual v6 4wd with a magnuson supercharger, 37s, 5.29 gears and arb lockers.
I’m going to make this series to show me attempting to bring it back to life.
This is episode one, a deep clean of the interior and exterior.

Im honestly impressed they managed to do all that damage and junking in only 3 years
I bet it’s a NorCal truck 🍃
You'd be surprised, I've seen tacomas with 5k miles that are just absolutely trashed
Whistlendiesel with a brand new F-250-

Tweakers
Amazing that someone dumped that much money into parts and building a nice truck just to completely destroy it. I’ve never see. Anything that dirty inside lol.
lol why else would he build it? Just to drive around to the grocery store
@@craigman7262 is this how you think all off-road trucks should look?
Bro, to mess up a 3 year old truck to the extent of blowing the motor (and a TOYOTA engine, at that)... That's something you'd have to almost TRY to do purposely. That's unbelievable.
Likely was whistling diesels truck
@@CaidenCertonio not the interior but the exterior isn’t suprising
I like to know how the last owner managed to get a 2018 truck to look like an abandoned 1960s!! What a transformation! Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
I'm guessing they won the lottery and bought it then ran out of money?
I'd say methamphetamine
It looks like it may have been a flood car with all the mud in the bed and state of the interior.
@@brianleigh5824 Also a good theory.
As a Detailer I praise your hard work I would hard pass if a customer presented me with something like this haha.
Same here
At least definitely not for $13k lol. $5k I think I'd consider. Interior would have to come apart to be cleaned. Exterior is a loss
@@nobodyatall9946 Imao ur cheap ash💀 it’s just trash
It’s covid so that’s why it was 13k
I detail as well and I'd refuse service on that. Not worth my time...
I’m really glad you found this truck and are giving it the care it deserves. The transformation was amazing to see.
My word, that's crazy! I have a 19' Tacoma and I can't imagine destroying it that much if I tried. I Subscribed, I look forward to seeing the progress and full transformation of this truck! Great job cleaning it up so far.
Same I have a 19 imma go vacuum it rn
Great work. I truly can't understand how someone managed to build one of the nicer 3rd gen tacomas ive seen yet also trash it more in 3 years then any vehicle ive seen lol
I've seen 30 year old abandoned cars that were taken care of better than this truck! Glad to see it's in good hands, it looks like a great truck. Subbed to follow its evolution.
Wow,,how can someone abuse a truck to that point,,,,love the video and can’t wait to see what you do with it!
It's probably some young unappreciative spoiled Millennial kid that doesn't appreciate having something nice in life
@@Americafirst-i8q my guess, is that it was stolen by some junkies and they were living out of it.
the fact that they managed to blow a toyota engine of all things means that they put that poor truck through the wringer
@@Americafirst-i8q Spoiled millennial kid? The youngest millennials are in their late 20's now, hardly kids. Get a clue, grandpa.
Based on how disgusting that thing is it
was definitely junkies living in it. I got my Cherokee back after it was stolen and missing for a full year and it was gross
inside but nowhere near as bad as this Tacoma. I still threw the carpet and seats away. I knew it was opiate addicts that stole it because they left needles in the Jeep 💉🤢🤮
Tbh, that truck has a lot of good parts. From fox, to kings, to sumo springs, morimoto headlights. Probably ARB air pump, lockers and 5.29s that's solid.
For sure! Just needs some love….
and being sold for $13k??? Just invest a few racks, and it's back to normal condition! It's definitely a great deal. I'm super jealous
Exactly! He could probably part it out and get his money back worst case scenario. Not sure why the previous owner went that far then put rear blocks and that rough country junk on though.
@@Sam1000RR in 2002, i bought a 97 tacoma that was in almost new condition for 13k. I still have it and its in a lot better shape than this one.
It’s unreal how disgusting some people live. Love the episode bro!
Thanks man, I now feel like some kinda financial genius now for having bought my 2020 TRD OR 4x4 Tacoma used from Enterprise Rental Car Sales at 32 grand with 26k miles on it...mine didn't come with a dead cat in it though...
The before and after is straight up astonishing wow, also that cabin air filter almost made me vomit
Awesome!!! It looks a million times better already
Man I wish we had the full story on this truck or more importantly the owner. How did this happen to such an expensive truck so quickly?
Lazy slob person that likely inherited a big wad of cash
@@rich2583 I'd hate to see the inside of their house
Meth
@@ATLWood13 exactly what I was going to say lol
Crack
How do people live like this? Can you imagine what their home looks like? Incredible for a 3-year-old truck.
Thank you for taking care of this truck. It deserves so much more care than the previous owner provided.
Sweet deal for sure. I think it's beautiful and you gotta love a truck that's all scratched up and ready to go. Crazy how someone can completely trash a vehicle in just a few years.
If that frame isn’t bend . For 13k you got a deal!!!
Look forward to seeing video updates
I have a feeling someone was living in that truck, you just can't get an interior looking like that with even with rough use.
Yeah the cat pretty much gave it away
By far the weirdest private party truck u could come across. A supercharged Tacoma? With king and fox suspension, rough country lift, and it’s a manual. This was someone’s baby at some point it seemed. It looked like depression hit somebody and he just abused all hell out of it
I’m currently doing a 95 Ranger this way, 5.0 swap, T5, long travel suspension 2wd, every bushing worn slam out, carpet destroyed, engine knocking, seats will break your tailbone from no padding left, flared bedside busted, clutch gone, tires are slick, etc…..but it was free. The long travel suspension itself was over $4,000 so it feels like a win.
Good lord, what a labor of love. Looking forward to following along with this.
Mike you are be the most optimistic guy I've ever seen, i feel most people would just throw in the towel more power to you😊
This doesn’t even seem possible that a person could spend that much money on a truck and then treat it that poorly. It’s just insane
Kinda shocked that you took on this challenge haha, thumbs up dude!
Wow dude I am really impressed and Satisfied from your video. I love the series you're starting for one, but wow was that truck a mess when you first bought it! You have great energy aswell as knowledge and resources around you. Seems like this is going to be a quick but very interesting build. You got a sick platform, Glad to have found this channel. 1 Like from me!🤙
Thank you!
the guy driving this over 100000 miles in less than 3 years was really living
So sad to see such a beautiful truck carelessly destroyed. Thank you for picking it up and giving it new life
The owner before had no Taco respect , gonna sub and follow this rebuild 🤙
Worked at a Toyota dealership in the rental department from 2019-2020 and you’d be amazed how many people would bring back the rental tacomas absolutely trashed like this. But they didn’t like it very much when we told them they’d be fined and would have to pay for any damages that were not previously there.
Yes despite the deep cleaning you had to do, i have to say you got pretty lucky in scoring for cheap one of the most desired trucks in the market. Access cab and manual plus a TRD pkg. it’s a win in my eyes. Enjoy it. Cheers! 💪🏽👌
I mean yeah that’s true, but shit dude. I’m not sure I could ever feel comfortable (or clean) inside a vehicle I know was abused and trashed that throughly. Might have been a good deal by the numbers, but man, there was some nasty mofo in that thing
While I'm blown that that truck was essentially destroyed in that amount of time, I'm also impressed with your work, nice one.
I personally don't like the 3rd gen interior and went with a 2011 tacoma and modded the interior with touch screen and all LED inside and outside.
Awesome to see you restoring this thing! How in the world did someone destroy it this bad in only a few years!?
that’s awsome, you’ll definitely be able to recover this truck and have fun with it, can’t say i’m not jealous!
you know it’s gnarly when you need a rake to clean out the bed😂. Amazing what you turned this truck into
Amazing work. Going to make owning this vehicle feel that much more special.
Man I love that first road you guys are on. It’s my daily commute man
The SC alone would be $6k new, looks like Alpharex led headlights. A bit more $$ invested and you’ll have a sweet 🌮. Good luck, looking forward to to seeing if the engine runs.
Thanks for watching!
They are Morimoto headlights, the Alplarex headlights match the oem led drl headlights. Owner invested good money on parts but defensively was an animal, the truck was disgusting.
I was thinking that. Truthfully could have sold the super charger to fund the replacement motor. But then looses the super charger fun and the coolness it attracts to RUclips etc.
I hope he makes enough off of RUclips to keep him going on it and make it worth his time. I really enjoyed watching all his videos on it. I’m on my second time around now.
Who the hell owned the truck before you? Its weird that they got a brand new truck, spent money on upgrades, drove a ton of miles and completely trashed it. Some sort of mobile traveling cat lady.
Drugs are more than likely involved. Thats how all my sisters vehicles ended up looking after her junkie boyfriend moved in.
@@bryantbubel806 totally racist and uncalled for. You have no fucking right to judge a POC and how they live their life when you don't know their fucking story...
@@dagothodros641 how is saying drugs are probably involved being racist? please elaborate
@@dagothodros641 are you joking?
Always a surprise and a treat to hear Tyler Childers in random videos
honestly, I bought my taco and thought no way these retain their resale as they say. Now I know I can treat it like shit and still sell it
My Tacoma has 116,000 miles and still looks factory fresh inside and out. I plan to put at least 500 k on it. Most likely the driver of this truck did not pay for it himself.
Dude you have no idea that’s such a good build to start you got a badass whip. Supercharged on fox beadlocked 37s. Idk how I feel about the lift block tho good to take it off
I'm interested to see what happens so I subscribed. I have a 2018 and caught the 2nd video first, the title had me worried, but was relieved after watching, so I went to the first. I though I didn't care about the appearance of my vehicles, but the previous owner of this vehicle should be ashamed. I know it will turn out to be an awesome truck for you and I'm stoked to watch the progress.
Well at least you can build it in your image now. rip everything out of the cab, pull the carpet out and get racing seats. sound proof the cab. put a corvette v8 engine in it. sell the super charger. do a icon stage 10 triple bypass shocks with total chaos control arms. do all the total chaos weld on gussets. get skid plates and paint them yourselves with rattle cans. get rock sliders ASAP . rocksliders save lots money. get a rock crawler package and nitro gears. install the total chaos front axles. oh never mind. good job none the less. looks great. you did it all in 20 minutes.
I legit thought you would say you got that for a thousand or so.. Jesus. Looks like a fun project still good on you for putting the time into it
I have a 2016 with 90k miles and I’m shocked at how filthy this 2018 was at the beginning of the video. Good job man
Love the dedication! That this looked toasted at first! Looking nice
Loved the video dude! Can't believe that there is a person like the previous owner walking around haha someone needs help! Cheers and stoked to follow this build 🤘👌🤣🇨🇦
So sad to see a tacoma in that shape. I watched all your videos so far and I give you props for fixing it up! That truck needed some love and care.
Subscribed to this one! Nice find to be honest! Solid looking truck with some love it’ll be a hell of a truck.
It's like rescuing an animal. The Taco is feeling the love now!
"Nasty smootz"...lol! You're brave to take it on!
Nice video dude! Will be watchin till you’re done with the build!
Wow what a steal. Manual transmission too that is a gem of a truck
Thank you!
Don't want to even think how the previous owners garage is 🙂
Guys please were some needle proof gloves when cleaning other people's mess. Nice on the respirators.
Drill with a bristle brush to agitate, then shop vacuum.
Pressure wash with a good rubbing of soap or such. If not water vacuum with a drill to agitate after soap is put down.
Steam cleaner for all the nooks n crannies.
Clay bar, n polish for a cheap exterior cleaning.
Steam cleaner wrapped inside a microfiber towel for most interior spots, headliner, etc.
Hopes this helps, you can rent all of this. But it's a nice purchase.
I'm a simple man. I hear Tyler, and I like the video.
5.29's will be perfect for 35's with a manual trans. With the automatic, you really need 5.29 just for 33's The autos are geared much taller. I'd love a manual, but I really wanted the DCLB body style more. Can't have both, unfortunately. You have taken on quite a project, just going through the videos now. Good on ya for bringing this abused baby back to life.
Thank you for watching!
Personally I love the DCLB, it’s easily the most practical of them all.
Love the video.. my mouth is in disbelief how the truck was treated so sad. Pretty gross but hey at least it has a supercharger.
You’d have to pay me 5-10k to take that thing.
Great video!! Excited to watch the progress!! The interior was so gross😳
The majority of people are nasty
This is one of my favorite algorithm suggestions I’ve ever gotten.
There was this one guy few years back I met in Lodi Ca. Has the same similar setup truck. Wonder if this was his old truck.
I it’s the believe same guy.
Nasty A$$ truck. Big change. Nice touch with the Tyler Childers
Thanks!!
Jeeze found this video & super pumped for this build!
That poor lil taco 🥺, glad your bringing it back to life
How could such a newish truck get so damnn dirty! I love tacomas I would of tooken better care of it, but good thing your giving it some much needed attention 👌
Dude two questions for the previous owner why? and how?
Man! How in the hell can someone trash a nice looking Tacoma so completely in that short a period of time. I freek out when I get some mud on the floor mats of my Taco.
Nice bodega bay shirt, i recognized the landscape from the towing vid. you get this thing like up by clear lake or something? I was at STA Quillayute river now im at the training center. Anyways nice vid man
Thanks! Yup.
Great job on the recovery of this vehicle
as a fellow access cab taco owner. im speechless. im literally at the car wash once a week at least 2 hours detailing inside and out. of course I do everything myself I don't let anyone touch my shit 🙂
That's an awesome find. I was looking for a long bed with manual transmission and several dealers said they don't even make them on order anymore.
They’re fun
13k is a steal for that. Nice truck bro. I have 2018 as well. 113k is just breaking it in these Tacomas.
Lucky. $13g for that. Damn steal. Can't wait for more
Great job so far, nice work! We got stiffed in AU with Hilux, wish we had the Tacoma
That’s funny, everyone says the same thing about not getting a hilux here.
@@mikes4x4garage Lol Hilux's are for shortarses, im 6' and they are uncomfortable asf..new sub btw just caught up, ya done cracking job cheers!

i have a 2016 with 56k miles and it looks brand new compared to this truck
Bro, leave it to be 1000 miles for 20 years that would be cool.
Why are you garaging a Tacoma like it’s some rare exotic? Lol. 637 miles? Why do you even have it?
@@Drohead20 because I bought the truck and therefore that means I can do whatever the hell I want with it. Lol let’s put it this way the frame is ceramic coated. And it’s worth over 10 grand what I paid for it new so that helps 👍🏼

This video shows how you can tell Daddy has a lot of money. Kid has a expensive, souped up truck and it's completely destroyed. I've had my Tacoma not even a month and it's been through the car wash like 7 times now
My Voodoo Blue '21 TRD OR DC 4x4 has 20k miles on it and I have done all the routine maintenance. I have not cleaned the truck other than complimentary dealer services. I regularly subject the truck to insane abuse.

that vehicle under this condition at the car auction todays day 12/2021 worth $22000 , good deal good luck
Damn .. my 21 Tacoma Sport 4 door looks brand new to this day
I’d hope so! It’s only just over a year old!
Super pumped to see how this transformation turns out!
This just popped up in my feed. I sense meth or H judging by the condition of the truck, the filth/trash, the mismatched tires, some of the "mods" etc. Like someone had some money, built their dream truck then got hooked on the pipe. While nowhere near as bad as yours, my 4 year old Tacoma was pretty tattered in a similar way. Also got a good deal on it but you did better. Looking forward to seeing this thing fixed up.
Definitely from a NorCal Grow. Bought and built all cash, zero fawks 😂
The phrase, "this is why we can't have nice things", come to mind.
Ive worked on cars everyday for the past 26 years. That’s the worst I’ve seen 🤣🤣🤣. Imagine what their house looks like
Pretty bad for sure.
Access cab and manual trans with some good parts on there. Nice find! Shouldn't take much to get it running again. Good luck! 🤙
Previous owner had a drug problem? What a clusterfuck. Even the suspension is all mix and match hahha some really good parts and some real shit ones. Good luck!
Yeah looks like a drug problem
@@mikesantos011 yeah its the classic case of someone with money and a drug problem. I have clients in the music industry like this. I have one client that took 2 years to pick out finishes for his studio and he worked in there a ton in those 2 years with just moving blankets and shit everywhere.
I have a taco. Sweet truck bro your gonna love that. I'm jealous

bro that truck, wtf who lives like this. wow your doin great cleaning it up.
If I were you man I’d be searching all the wreck and junk yards for wrecked tacos and try finding interior from them
