I flew the Tello in the winter when it was first released last year. Seems to work OK in the winter, as long as snow does not get on the bottom sensors.
Great video review as always would you recommend this over any other budget drone for smooth video and have you tried a WiFi extender with this please may I ask.

After a variety of great DJI drones, eBay sold me on a $379 refurb Typhoon H Pro (no real Sense), and you videos have been the best for helping me get started. I also have 3 Tello drones for teaching classes with and this and your other Tello stuff has been cool too. Thanks again!
Aye Captain, I was wondering if there is a way to fix the video quality of tello? I am based in NYC, to fly anything above .55lbs I gotta be in public transport for 45 minutes. I wish there was a heavier drone with a bit better video. Probably something that writes on an SD card and has 1080p 30 fps
Best video at the lowest price would be the DJI SPARK. You're other option is to place a tiny camera on the top or bottom of the TELLO to get better video.

Just got one, updated it and its not bad at all, Im also adding a Meross extender to reduce video dropouts. I have been offered a Phantom 3 with all the accessories (3 batteries, case etc) for £400 but the new UK law means Id have to register so Im wondering, do you think its worth the investment? Eventually Id like to do my commercial license as I am a professional photographer and I think it would be a good addition to my services. I love your reviews, but there is so much choice and new legal stuff I must admit Im a bit confused how to proceed.
Hey Phil, I'm not too familiar with UK drone laws. We have some restrictive drone laws here in Canada, but as you see in my videos, I fly safe (stay away from groups of people, moving vehicles, people's privacy, planes, etc). Also, toss down a nice big landing pad and people think you're not some kid having fun but rather a pro. Flying in the early morning is always the best because no one is bothered with people flying drones.
Yeah I intend to be responsible, just as I am in shopping centres when photographing professionally (but with tripods, kit etc). Thanks for the reply and your videos, my head is spinning thinking about how to learn properly so I can get a license eventually
My Tello is less than a week old and one of the motors has failed, I've been able to find a few videos of the issue. Every one had a failed left rear motor. Has anyone heard of this problem before? It's such a great little drone but to fail in less than a week is disappointing.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 It just won't spin, and when it does it will cut out intermittently and the drone will start spinning. Edit it spins freely if I flick it with my finger, it does not appear bound up.
Hmmm... Intermittent could mean the motor is not receiving power or it is receiving power but the power shuts on and off. Only thing I could suggest is to remove the props and perform all the calibration options.

I have the controller for the tello. and it sucks. cant even get a nice full flight in with the controller , because it looses connection to easily. and the video on the tello lags badly , i think dji should look into making a wifi controller for the tello or something . because i can not enjoy flying my tello when using the game sit ti blue tooth controller.
The issue appears to be your phone. The phone and controller connect via bluetooth. If bluetooth connection is lost, it is due to your phone. For my (just my opinion), it is a million times better flying the TELLO with the bluetooth controller & phone than with only a phone.

Grate video, I had a little unstable balance with new coloured props, So retreated back tooriginal black ones
Check the tips of your props. Make sure they are smooth and straight.

How did the motor stop working? If these motors get hairs (especially cat or dog hair) in them, they will cease.
