This is my 1st drone. I am 59 years old and without tech skills. But even I can fly this drone! I'm not thrilled with the android app because it's easy to move off of the controls without knowing... so I have to look down at my phone quite a lot. The good news is that the drone hovers while I recover. I used a red Sharpie to mark the "nose" of the drone. It helps me to see where the front is. I had 2 propellers come off after a crash on the first day. It didn't fly at all after that so I shelved it. I finally got around to chatting with tech support and found out that the props are not all the same. I had mixed them up when I re-installed. Back in business now!
Once you get things figured out with this one you should upgrade to something like the mavic air 2s, with 12km range, GPS, obstacle avoidance, 5.4k camera, 31 minute flight time etc.
Yeah I had the same problem but found out the propellers need to be matched up now it flys brilliant iam not far off your age. 😂 Good ain't they now I've moved on to the mavic there unbelievable. Brilliant
I am almost 57 and just bought the Gamesir Controller for DJI Tello and it makes a HUGE difference in the controlling and smoothness of flying. Definitely recommend it. I am not very well coordinated but within 5 minutes I had my drone flying under my covered verandah and through the railings.
I bought it yesterday and it's a tough little drone, I crashed it twice myself first flight and it got wet from the sprinklers, quick dry off and it was fine. It's a good first drone.
Japyoo yeah I mean at least buy a 400$ piece of equipment, fucking idiot this is a beginning drone to test out if you like it or not, not some extremely high quality drone
Great video, clear and concise without ahhs and umms straight to the point, no crazy music and filler talking about absolute nonsense for 7 minutes and putting the content you came to see behind all that. Best drone channel I've seen!
I bought one after your video. Nice drone! I have crashed it 15 time, still perfect. Even had the lab jump up and take it out of the air, still perfect!
@James Darr hitting trees gets them good, they fall out of the air and the only damage I’ve had sustained is the battery fell out when I hit a bush due to some wind but popped it back in and it was fine.
Great review, and great production. Clear and concise, he goes over every feature, while maintaining excellent video, and audio quality. I will easily watch anymore reviews this guy puts out.
Word of advice when flying inside, make sure it is bright enough else the drone starts drifting, usually towards curtains or fragile things as I found out. If it is too dark then it cannot use its optical stabilisers to position itself
Also it’s self generated wind will bounce back from floor and walls and push it into random direction cause it’s so light weight so be careful with that too.
Great video, I found this Drone at Walmart today. Watched ur review and went ahead and got it. 99 dollars. Just got a mavic pro last week and I'm definitely a dji fanboy now. Thks for sharing 😊 👍
Was recently given one of these as a gift. I haven’t even had the chance to take it outside. So many issues with connectivity, errors , etc…. Very disappointing. And after a Google search, many others are in the same boat
Great video review, Ed! Btw, the recommended bluetooth controller, the Gamesir T1D (for iOS and Android) was just introduced and is now available in the DJI store.
Bought this one for my niece 11 years old. And she totally loving it! Really glad that you can communicate how fun it is to fly a drone to a younger generation. Mavic Pro and Inspire 2 owner myself, but this little bugger kick some ass IMO. Thanks for the video Ed! Thumbs up from Sweden
When you show the camera view on your phone with the digital thumbsticks, it gives a really good impression of just how the interface will look on different phones. I have an older model Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the video looks great, with the interface relatively well spaced out.
A decision to go to Norway for a holiday I think lead to my viewing Norway videos to think, wow, you'll not be getting up there, 2000ft high cliffs to take photos. I came across drone footage and thought that's the answer. Find the Mavic but I'm like do I really want to get a feel for drones with a mavic? Well, my answer to that is no. Figured buying a cheap drone first for less than $100, might just save me a lot of money so looked for reviews of cheap drones, subbed to you only a couple days a go and find your reviews to be among the best. That's it, I'm sold on buying this first, then the Mavic. This looks like it might remain handy anyway for tight shots, going under a bridge, through a forest, interior shots - places I wouldn't want to risk flying a Mavic but could afford to lose something like this without it really putting a downer on an otherwise good day. Minutes after viewing this, that was it, I went and ordered one so thanks for this, looks great.
amazing review and amazing footage, I am late but just bought this today and first flight was to destroy my in door trees and threw the leaf all over the wall and sofa, can't wait to take it to a camping site in France
I have now just purchased this drone, the video answered all my questions and it was honest and showed that it is a perfect drone for those that know nothing about drones and don't have $700 laying around haha. Thanks for the review
Slick little drone! Great little starter drone I would imagine for anyone looking to getting into droning and didnt wanna splash out on a Mavic or Phantom!
Nice review Ed👍. Best thing about the Tello IMO is I don’t have to worry about FAA No Fly Zones or TFR’s, not that I’d fly it anywhere near maned aircraft. I thought range would be a letdown, but by the time it gets that far away, keeping within line of sight becomes becomes the limiting factor.
Hello Ed, I know this is a very old review but I very much apreciated it. I was looking for a small affordable drone that was easy to manoeuver. Looking at your review makes me choose this Tello and I am not disappointed, I was able to make it fly very easily thanks to its beginner features like take off and landing. Nicolas
Watching this a few years after it was made, but found informative and very accurate. I purchased one and controlling with I-phone using with the free phone APP. Price is now a bit higher (think I paid $123 for drone, battery, and USB charger cable. Drone came with propeller guards installed.
I crashed this drone 1-2 times and none of the props broke, neither got scratched badly.Only a little line of scratch and the propeller just fell off when I crashed it into a tree. Second time I crashed it was when I got the drone, the wind blew it into a wall and again, the propeller just fell off and I just put it back on again.Really durable for just 99 USD!
It's a nice first drone and I would say its a small step above a toy because it's easy to charge and something you can easily carry with you for a quick picture or video.
I got two of these from work as prizes. Never had a drone thought it'd be like a 20 dollar thing since it was a prize from work. Tried it out and thought it was amazing. This little thing is awesome, as a total newb you'd be hard pressed to crash it because it auto stabilizes so well.
@@emorytraylor with the tello it's WiFi only so it's limited on distance, but you can buy a WiFi repeater which boosts it a lot. Cool review 😎 I'm getting a Tello for christmas 🎁😁 I can't wait to fly it.
Same here, ordered it during black Friday as a present for Christmas. Seems to be quite some fun for the buck.
@@kirillkobets1177 I'm impressed with the reviews, good flight time and stabilised video and picture quality seems good as long as you bear in mind the wifi connection has a limited range. I think in calm weather and smooth close quarter flying it will be a great piece of kit to get some aerial footage. I've ordered an extra battery for mine to extend the flight time.
I have this drone believe me it’s so much fun
Tq, only you gave me all and every information about this drone 🔥 tq
Really good presentation. I am a beginner in the drone world. I just bought one. Just to learn. And your review makes me confident in my buying. Thanks ✌️
Bro you’re the best at this. I don’t know why or how I was unsubscribed from your page (unless you unsubscribe me your self) but I’m glad to have find your page again. 😊👍🏾
Not a bad tutorial vid. I am looking to know what the difference is between the Tello and the Tello EDU besides the $20 dollar difference?
