I've always wanted to see Paper Mario without partners or badges in battle. Rules: No using Partner abilities in battle aside from Goombario's Tattle. Strategies can still be used on Partner turns. No badges that have an effect in battle are allowed. This means no HP Plus, no Close Call, no Power Jump, nothing like that. The Attack FX badges are still allowed, because those are useless.
I like the way that in the remake, one of the minibosses makes it impossible, instead of it being a buff to a big boss like Cakletta's soul, it's instead just "It's Max-Power Ludwig Time Baby!" followed by your swift death lmao
i wonder how difficult this would be if you weren't overlevelled :p great video, i was pretty sure it was possible, but i'm shocked you got through the cackletta's soul fight at the end under these rules!
Welp. By watching this video, I wanted to see how big pain in the ass is to beat the game without dodging. Instead, I learned how difficult it is to beat it by beign way overleveled. Thanks, dude.
The final boss for this challenge would, I think, be RNG, since she can use any attack if she starts first, so if it's a group attack, you die. If I remember correctly.
For Partners in Time, Shrowser is impossible to defeat without dodging. Considering Dodging is the only way to deal damage. But, I'd like to see Elder Princess Shroob...
In the fawful battle you only need to do a normal fire bros special to get fawful out of his machine, then he is going to counter attack once and do some minor damage, after that he is good as dead.
i just finished watching the mario and luigi bowser inside story video , i never realized how low res the gba was compared to the ds until now , theres a huge difference with the bosses and stuff
Ontop of overleveling, I'd like to see some strategies behind the stat boosts too to see your stat spread! Thought would be neat. Maybe make the next challenge with the minimum level you can fight and win? These battles aren't too exciting to watch when of course when you maximum level, you are tanking every hit.
Nope it is programed to deal 999 no matter what even with the you must losse the shorb fight at the beginning of partners in time no matter how hard you try even I hacked the game had 999 defense and 9999 still killed both bros as it's programed
Now beat the game only leveling up health. The Chuggaaconroy way. (It's also what me and my brother did the first time we played through the game and it made the game super hard)
Well I just tried it without dodging/countering all attacks, and I believe it's impossible. I died on the third tutorial battle. So now it's time to see if the bosses are possible.
Unless you boost your speed stat to astronomical levels then no, the final boss' attack will always kill you no matter what you do. There, 19 minutes of video summed up in one sentence.
Wow I really did t think you could Bea the game with these rules, like with the final boss and one hp I didn't think you could but you proved me wrong congrats.
In regards to Cackletta's soul, I think Fawful's Minion said it best; If your Speed is a point below 140, she gets her turn and aces you. (not exact quote but still.) Overleveling wasn't a bad idea, just going at normal pace though would have torn you to pieces most likely. Great vid btw!
It's actually much harder in the remake as well. Her body parts have more HP, her attacks do much more damage with some of them being harder to avoid and she also debuff your stats much more frequently.

This is a no-brainer. Nearly every RPG can be beaten with massive leveling, healing, and reviving, and overleveling happened here before the sixth boss. Leveling gives you offensive advantages and the ability to invalidate damage. You "traded" defense for a different kind of defense plus offense.

If you set the bros level to 3 so no slow down happens, then you can mash better
@@glquam07 was it "B"?
Wait it was "A" huh?
Yeah spam "A", though spamming it will make it's "damage per hit" less
I've always wanted to see Paper Mario without partners or badges in battle.
Rules: No using Partner abilities in battle aside from Goombario's Tattle. Strategies can still be used on Partner turns. No badges that have an effect in battle are allowed. This means no HP Plus, no Close Call, no Power Jump, nothing like that. The Attack FX badges are still allowed, because those are useless.
Fawful : "Oof"
*Roblox death sound intensifies*
I like the way that in the remake, one of the minibosses makes it impossible, instead of it being a buff to a big boss like Cakletta's soul, it's instead just "It's Max-Power Ludwig Time Baby!" followed by your swift death lmao
(8:54) **Chuckles** I’m in danger!
12:15 I see you jumping over those shockwaves. Don't think you can get away with dodging a boss's attacks just because it isn't in a battle!
I might actually try this on my own time for BiS and Dream Team.
Same for Dream Team, it also has giant battles.
Right, the giant battles were weird like that. Every other fight would be possible though, right?
The Arch final boss does a punch attack that goes on infinitely until you counter it. Pretty sure it's not beatable.
TheSVSexton Yes, Giant form Bowser goes into his shell and Giant Luigi must counter it by spinning his Hammer.
Dream Team with as few dodges as possible sounds really fun.
*Remembers Big Massif*
On second thought, maybe not..
Human. The ingenuity in this video amazed me and the others watching we truly applaud you.
When I saw this I immediatly remembered the final boss. Then I remembered that when you're really lucky she will only boost her attack.
i wonder how difficult this would be if you weren't overlevelled :p
great video, i was pretty sure it was possible, but i'm shocked you got through the cackletta's soul fight at the end under these rules!
Welp. By watching this video, I wanted to see how big pain in the ass is to beat the game without dodging.
Instead, I learned how difficult it is to beat it by beign way overleveled. Thanks, dude.
Nice job! At the beginning of the video I through this challenge was impossible, but with gear and lvl grinding even the final boss it's a cake walk.
Man this was a good run, well played my friend
Mario: Sometimes I really wish I listened to what the toad told me.
Peach: What did he tell you?
Mario: I don't know. I didn't listen.

It's sad that this series ended, those games help us Explore Mario Universe
In the fawful battle you only need to do a normal fire bros special to get fawful out of his machine, then he is going to counter attack once and do some minor damage, after that he is good as dead.
i just finished watching the mario and luigi bowser inside story video , i never realized how low res the gba was compared to the ds until now , theres a huge difference with the bosses and stuff
12:40
Mario and Luigi = Homework
Lemmy = Me
Love these types of videos! I would really like to see more, and if it isn't possible it would be neat to see the minimum amount of dodges needed
This was a really well made video! I definitely would try this in Partners in time aswell!
Pretty sure the 3DS version is beatable with Muddy Pants - they make Luigi take 0 damage from monsters slower than him
Nope it is programed to deal 999 no matter what even with the you must losse the shorb fight at the beginning of partners in time no matter how hard you try even I hacked the game had 999 defense and 9999 still killed both bros as it's programed
Mario: takes massive damage in order to battle for his survival
Luigi: *stardust crusaders intensifies*
Now beat the game only leveling up health. The Chuggaaconroy way.
(It's also what me and my brother did the first time we played through the game and it made the game super hard)
Same
I don’t know what you were talking about, seeing all the bosses get stomped flat was very entertaining
Imagine how bruised up they must be after all of that
I’d like to imagine them having PTSD from all that
"Can you beat Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga and Bowser's Minions without dodging?"
Ludwig: Ha! No!
But you can't do it on remake
Why?:
Ludwig
This challenge is really interesting, I love it! It has inspired me to try to see if its possible in Dream Team :)
Well I just tried it without dodging/countering all attacks, and I believe it's impossible. I died on the third tutorial battle. So now it's time to see if the bosses are possible.
"Next "Boss" Wiggler."
Why is that so funny
Great video! I would love if you could have audio commentary next time!
Unless you boost your speed stat to astronomical levels then no, the final boss' attack will always kill you no matter what you do.
There, 19 minutes of video summed up in one sentence.
Alessandro Bozzi
I was looking for this comment
Which he did
Alessandro Bozzi isn't there a badge or something that allows you to attack first
These videos are just making the young version of me realize i sucked at these games
8:31 'cause you where lucky in worst part he would stole Mario's or Luigi's hammer and (as you can't dodge)you would take VERY heavy damage.
Like at 10:08?
@@TunaBear64 Yes, exactly.
Wow I really did t think you could Bea the game with these rules, like with the final boss and one hp I didn't think you could but you proved me wrong congrats.
CHEATER!
You dodged the explosion of Bowser's castle.
(Sad Goomy noises)
Lol
In regards to Cackletta's soul, I think Fawful's Minion said it best; If your Speed is a point below 140, she gets her turn and aces you. (not exact quote but still.) Overleveling wasn't a bad idea, just going at normal pace though would have torn you to pieces most likely. Great vid btw!
I have seen many boss rankings, Cackletta's soul usually was in the top 10 hardest boss rankings
It's actually much harder in the remake as well. Her body parts have more HP, her attacks do much more damage with some of them being harder to avoid and she also debuff your stats much more frequently.
Oh joy. Cackletta is why I'm hesitant to pick up Super Star Saga. Hearing that she's even worse in the remake does not help.
@@BlueDragonknight375 I wouldn't hold out on a game just because of one boss, my guy. Especially not any of the Mario & Luigi RPGs. Super Star Saga is a hella fun game.
Trust me, not playing this game is a mistake.
Try the original on virtual console or something. Besides the articles and videos I looked at are a few years old, even though one said the original one was number 1... Just have a ton of health and mushrooms and you're probably good to go!
she isn't even THAT hard. i honestly don't know where you guys got your boss rankings.
Man youtube recommendations have been on point lately. Awesome vid my dude👍
Mario rpg with final fantasy physics.
I just love this game, probably in my top 3, the best GBA game, and the best in the M&L serie. When I was a kid, the bean queen and that strange red jelly seemed pretty hard to beat.
14:58 THEY JUMPED TO DODGE IT MISSION FAILED
Cutscene not in the battle sir (or ma'am)
@@quackmahnameisnowquack9566 r/woooooosh it took a year
CatGamer666 Atleast I tell people that they didn't get the joke and unlike you, I don't woooosh them, cause I'm not as braindead as some out there. But I got the joke though.
Fabian Martinez Unfortunately, you didn't get the joke, but I won't join a bandwagon full of braindead a-holes.
@@Pusheeen_Pesao e mierda
Cackletta's Soul is a no. Unless your Speed is above 120,which allows you to have the first turn and heal.
not dodging is like you fighting enemies except the enemies can't dodge either
Now for the hardest fight in the game.....
The long-lost lamb sauce.
5:09 You were way overleveled for some of these bosses. I took 35+ damage from cackletta's attacks (I was playing the 3DS remake)
3DS remake has largely retuned damage, and he actually needed that much leveling simply to be fast enough to survive the opening round
In the 3DS version the enemies do real damage. The OG version is easy as heck.
One of the hardest things I did in this series of games was doing dream team.
I made mario a glass canon and Luigi a super tank. That didn't go over well. It wasn't even the hard mode version of the game.
I did eventually manage to beat the game, but I had numerous game overs.
Give it a shot sometime, you'll know what I mean.
Sm4sh_Alf I don’t know what you mean how do you do that also what if you do the opposite and go for just defense and defense
1:16 *THE OOF*
This is a no-brainer. Nearly every RPG can be beaten with massive leveling, healing, and reviving, and overleveling happened here before the sixth boss. Leveling gives you offensive advantages and the ability to invalidate damage. You "traded" defense for a different kind of defense plus offense.
