Makes you wonder if Nintendo ever remade Partners in Time, would they have nerfed the enemies and bosses HP? Because they had way too much of it in this game which makes me wonder if that's why they skipped past remaking it?
The funny part about this comment? They already did. After the initial release in NA, Nintendo and/or Alpha Dream realized how horrendously balanced the bosses were and fixed them for the other regions, typically by lowering HP and raising POW. In particular, the final bosses' HP were lowered from 3000-3500-3000 to 1700-1800-2000, though the Elder Princess Shroob's arms and feet actually got more HP instead. Some enemies also got changes, though not nearly to the extent as the bosses.
@@finalsurvivor1 What they said. Both the Japanese and European versions of the game are much better balanced. (Plus, they include a nice song after the credits).
@@finalsurvivor1 There was a share of other fixes as well. Things cost less, some attacks did more damage and some did less, and bizarrely enough, some glitches were patched out that nobody would realistically have encountered in the first place. Funny enough too, there are 1.0 and 1.1 versions of the North American version, but the differences aren't known and enemy stats are the same in both.
@@finalsurvivor1 Hmm, I still had the old version, and it wasn't that hard. It usually took way longer to find what I had to do/complete it. I was done with the game in 18 hours. (17:58 for the story and about 5 minutes for the Shrowser fight) so was the balance really that bad?
@@rryumi It wasn't that hard per se, save for maybe the final bosses since you had to do all of it save Shrowser in one go. The bosses just tended to drag on because of how much HP they had combined with gimmicks that usually made the fights longer, with Commander Shroob, Princess Shroob, and EPS's second form being the main offenders.
It's like Shrowser actually saw us not dodging on all the bosses and the bros. still won, so Shrowser says that the Mario Bros. can't attack at all. That must have been how Shrowser caused the challenge to fail.
After rewatching the Elder Princess Shroob 2nd Phase boss here (I won't spoil the outcome) I just noticed that her boss theme doesn't seem like a properly epic song for a crazy difficult boss, the theme really gives off a vibe of Hopelessness and Consequence. This fight will be what determines the fate of the Kingdom, and the general vibe just feels hopeless. I know this isn't too big of a revelation, but the song even has some quiet, sad sounding parts. It almost makes the player feel dread, and lots of it!
Some boss are stronger in NA in a regular playthrough, but would have been hell in a no dodge playthrought, since they have lower HP, but higher speed and attack, Elder princess shroob would be almost unbeatable. In her first phase, she goes from 3500 to 1800 HP but her attack goes from 130 to 210. And she also get a counterattack each time you touch her. I remember, i was around level 30, and not countering her meteor dealt around 120 damage (it could OHKO mario i think)
I'm just sitting here wondering how you got Mario to have more defense through most of the game. Mario is statistically better than Luigi in every way now.
I found shrowser more like a minigame than anything, the main reason is because is too easy and I feel it really unnecessary, filler more than anything. Gonna admit the idea was real nice and I wish there were bosses like that but you know with actual difficulty (hadn´t played dream team or Paper jam so idk if there´s bosses like that)
One boss in Dream Team is counter only, and at one point in Paper Jam all your action blocks get stolen, leaving you with only counters and first strikes until you get a block back.
funny enough, the elder shrooboid is the boss that stopped be from completing the game. i was around 10 years old and had NO idea how to beat him. i was terrible at hammering the balls back towards the flying saucer (which i didnt even know you could do because i never actually hit them) so i lost every single time i fought him. i even went as far as redoing the entire game to get back to that point because i thought something was wrong with the game. anyways, enough about me, great video!
You forgot to count the Shroobs in Hollijolli Village (the first true bosses of the game). And the answer is, yes, you can get past them without dodging since their ray guns only deal 1 HP of damage each.
In my opinion, shrowser counts. I mean the goal of the challenge is to defeat the BOSSES without blocking or dodging. And shrowser IS a boss so.. Sorry.
I just kinda saw your bowsers inside story in my recommended and it was so good I just checked out your other videos. Needless to say great, pure original content
I feel like bosses should obey the basic rules of Boss fights...from what I can tell...Bosses are tough, high HP Enemies that mark the end of a section, Shobser Is not a tough...High HP boss at all...considering he only has 20 HP...and he doesn't really mark the end of a section...that's Elder Princess Shroobs job...I honestly feel like its more of a fun Mini-Game then anything...and is such...not a boss.
It would be nice to add a small endgame section going back through bowsers castle, with things like koopas and such to fight shrowser, and after the dodges (nerfed to 10 hits maybe, along with adding maybe 3 more variations) he becomes open to attacks, he has more hp but you have a damage multiplier because I wish there was a final boss that made you deal like 3X damage, while having 3X normal health to make you feel powerful.
@@adamzero_ If such thing were to exist, I feel like it would be a boss rush, in which you get only a few recovery items, and you have to go through it in one go, no healing inbetween rounds
It's a required battle that you must clear to beat the game and see the credits. Boss or not, I don't know how anyone could justify Shrowser not counting.

Finally a youtuber that doesn't talk just go with the challenge like it use too and go straight to the point without making silly jokes :)
when you run out of mix flowers for elder princess shroob
The guy who made the showser fight:
Yeah i know there is a lot of crazy peoole who maybe complete the game without blocking, lets just make that you cant attack and only block cuz why not.
I love that you know that it's impossible and you still do it.
When I fought the Elder Princess Shroob for the first time, conveniently, Baby Luigi was the one to finish her off, as he was the last one left and had no
one-ups.
Quite fitting
I know the premise of Kirby 3, but i've never played it. If I did I would probably have context, but since I don't. What the hell is that hamster doing to Kirby in your pfp?!
@@flameonoodle1172 The big roll
I can imagine for the final phase he was going to at first use
“MIX FLOWER SPAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!”
SGM: looks like we beat the game without dodging!
Shrowser: nah buddy, I'ma pull the sneaky on ya
20:02 "THA'TS A LOTS OF DAMAGE!!!"
True
*Shrowser: I'ma stop you right there.*
Ninitendo: *See’s his Superstar Saga Challenge video*
Nintendo: No
The Superstar Saga video came out after the remake did.
Those dislikes are all from Toadsworth.
Honestly, this game is underrated
Halfway through the video I realized why you can’t beat it without blocking
18:15 yeah, my record is 16 attacks in a row....
20:04 my record is 2752 (dealt with red shell used 800 times in a row with 8500 xp)
*h o w*
I mean, they're both certainly possible.
*but it just doesn't feel like it.*
Shyguymask: Phew, finally finished the challenge. Let's move on-
Shrowser:

*_C O M I N G ._*
If you do this for all 7 games in the series, I can't wait for dream team and how you hand the pi'illodium
Kevin Ng good point, tbf I would expect him to do the standard "how many are needed to beat the game"
so if he needs to counterattack 3 times to beat thunder sass then so be it.
even if it's impossible in most games, I'd love to see it anyway.
@@meggy8875 It can probably be done with Badges and Mystery Boxes
ethan ensley depends if he kills him before he does the self destruct, plus if he uses the hammer move he will probaly take alot of damage.
@@meggy8875 More damage just means more charge if using the correct equipment...I can see your point though...however if he farms and gets max badge slots he should be fine
Shyguymask: Yes!! I beat all of the bosses without dodging or countering!!!
*Shrowser: OH HELLO-*
Very nice improvements! Keep it up man, can't wait to see more content from you!
Elder Princess Shroob’s theme sped up sounds like a Kirby final boss theme think it has to be at 2.5x or 3x
It's like Shrowser actually saw us not dodging on all the bosses and the bros. still won, so Shrowser says that the Mario Bros. can't attack at all. That must have been how Shrowser caused the challenge to fail.
This was an awesome game. Loved every minute of it.
I would say that the shrowser fight does count, but hey! You still beat the ENTIRE rest of the game so good job for that!
WOAH, I didn't know I was watching a cinema sins production!
Is this the North American version, because the bosses are WAY stronger in that version?
I had an NA version and I live in Europe... oof.
Tbh the stronger bosses still weren't that hard.
I remember, i was around level 30, and not countering her meteor dealt around 120 damage (it could OHKO mario i think)
na sounds weird.i actually had a hard time with the finalboss in europe lol
Y E S
I better see "Is it possible to beat Bowser's Inside Story?" Pop up in my sub box sometime in the future
Shy:I DID IT!
Shrowser:Hold my beer
That ending was just a middle finger from Nintendo for someone even thinking of playing this way.
0:00 Look at the text below the title, it's a huge spoiler.
In one year i realized that in commander shroob fight you have to kill two of the shroobs to get him to fight
I'm just sitting here wondering how you got Mario to have more defense through most of the game.
Mario is statistically better than Luigi in every way now.
Bowser: Ooooooh look, an all-challenge-ending mushroom! Don't mind if I do.
I wouldn’t count Shrowser as a fight, because the Bros. can’t attack, and the ghost of Elder Princess Shroob has an HP bar.
Now do it in the Remake
*Wait what do you mean it doesn't exis-*
i hope this joke became true soon
@@bleurdreemurr4277 no. AlphaDream have gone bankrupt a few years ago
@@Oscarus4250 Im aware of that, dont worry.
funny enough, the elder shrooboid is the boss that stopped be from completing the game. i was around 10 years old and had NO idea how to beat him. i was terrible at hammering the balls back towards the flying saucer (which i didnt even know you could do because i never actually hit them) so i lost every single time i fought him. i even went as far as redoing the entire game to get back to that point because i thought something was wrong with the game. anyways, enough about me, great video!
i like how they actually care about their brother fainting or landing a perfect in this game, it makes it feel more alive, kind of?
You forgot to count the Shroobs in Hollijolli Village (the first true bosses of the game). And the answer is, yes, you can get past them without dodging since their ray guns only deal 1 HP of damage each.
In my opinion, shrowser counts. I mean the goal of the challenge is to defeat the BOSSES without blocking or dodging. And shrowser IS a boss so.. Sorry.
Is this a joke? Read the beginning
Braxton Lee uh... What should I be seeing?
@@trickstertwister612 I think 0:09 , there says: "(If you already played the game you know the answer)"
Shrowser is a slap in the face comfirmed!
It's not just a boss, it's an unskippable boss that you must beat to see the end credits. Shrowser 1,000% counts.
I just kinda saw your bowsers inside story in my recommended and it was so good I just checked out your other videos. Needless to say great, pure original content
I'm actually doing a very similarly difficult challenge: The Mario & Luigi series with minimum kills. It. Is. HELL.
You can tell the devs wanted Elder Princess Shroob to be the final boss.
Then they remembered that it's a Mario Game...
Better known as the best game in the series
Or the game with the most adorable cutscenes
Not really, it's good but BIS and SS are better
Me in the first half of the video: "Well, it looks doable so fa---"
Me halfway through the video: "OH SHIT THERE'S SHROWSER AT THE END!"
Next up: Bonk.io, no dodging challenge.
I love the edits in the transitions. It really shows his personality, especially in this challenge XD.

Shyguymask: **defeats Elder Princess Shroob without dodging** I guess that's it for the game. We have completed-
Shrowser: Ha! No!
“Shrobser”
Shrowser: I am inevitable.
