    4:45 just to be clear it's not multiple impact protection. People often get confused on what MIPS is, thinking it's a helmet that provides impact protection multiple times, but it's Multi-Directional Impact Protection System like he was saying, it provides protection from other directions because of the slip plane between your head and the inside of the helmet. If you have a good crash that may have compromised the helmet, replace it.

    A year later after I purchased this helmet, the good, its a great looking and comfortable helmet, I can wear airpods and my ears don't hurt, the bad, a bit of a pain to change the lens, in an ideal world I would like to buy a spare housing for the second lens, Oakley or nobody else selling them at the moment, in fact, this helmet is not on Oakley website anymore, so I am very hoping they will add it soon, in not, when that housing breaks, you are basically stuck with $500 helmet that will look funny when you use regular goggles over :)

    Seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. This looks difficult without gloves and a lot off faffing around. I Can just imagine constantly taking off my gloves like I have to with the "supposed" easy lock magnetic chin strap that I have on my mod 3.
    Also, there is ALOT of touching of the lens going on and if anyone knows Oakley like I do you only have to breathe on the coating and it scratches.
    My mod 3 and line miner goggles are seemless and hassle free

  • @bjd1193
    @bjd1193 Год назад +1

    I wonder how easy it is to push/pull all the buttons with your gloves on? Also, is the lens to frame a magnetic connection? How does one change lenses?
    Really cool helmet though. I'm tempted.

    Hi Angelo I have a question about the 2nd lens that comes with the sapphire version. I was wondering if that clear lens comes as a whole or is it a replacement for the goggle that needs to be installed beforehand? is it also possible to buy a replacement lens or full goggle for these in case they get dammaged.thanks for helping us out great review.

    I bought 1 but not very satisfied. Disconnecting the goggles is easy, but clicking back is a bit of a search, which after a number of times starts to work, if I want to put the goggles on the helmet, it is just a lot of struggling and if you do that in the elevator up and you lose them you are nothing with that helmet of 500 euros! Expected more for that much money. Unfortunately

    • @LuckyUSA7
      @LuckyUSA7 Год назад +1

      I played with mine, you have to have them latches or whatever you call them to stick all the way out, and then you push the lens in, hopefully that helps, but I agree , its not smooth an easy process..

      It’s terrible. I wear a medium, and tried the helmet today. Struggled to put it in with my glasses. The OTG compatibility simply doesn’t exist, and I’ve got a pretty standard frame, nothing whacky. My frame was pressing into my face once I had the lens on. A very uncomfortable 5 minutes.

    I just bought one from Amazon. Size of my head is 57.5cm, hence I bought size M, which fits between the range of 55cm to 59cm.
    Surprisingly, it is way too small...I am very disappointed...I am from Hong Kong, slim body with a pretty standard slightly small asian head. How could this not fit my head at all. It is more about the side of the helmet that doesnt fit. It is too narrow and I cant even wear it all the way down to my head.
    I wear size M in other helmet, such as the Wed'ze, which also states it fits 55cm to 59cm.
    I wonder why no one ever commenting on the size? I am pretty sure my head should fit most helmet in size M.
    Anyone come across this problem?

    • @yurusuD
      @yurusuD 8 месяцев назад

      I am also Asian and have the same head size as you. I have tried on various helmets in stores and found that the Global Fit M size helmets just barely fit in but are very tight. Global Fit helmets are long and oval, with a narrow width.
      So I'd find out in advance whether what you want to buy is Asian fit or global fit, and choose size M if it's Asian fit or size L if it's global fit.
      Perhaps your Wed'ze's were an Asian fit, or you just happened to get lucky with a model that fits the shape.

      Amazon is not really the best place to buy Oakley products from, we have seen so many counterfeit Oakley products purchased from Amazon here in the UK. So very difficult to judge. You should purchase from your local store if you can or buy from an authorised dealer like us then you can always return for the next size or try on in store.
