The last I looked, it was over 300K. Did my heart good to see so many of us stepping up to show our apprecation. Car people are the best people. ~ Chuck
As a 67 year old musclecar fanatic I have followed Steve for more than 30 years. I have truely enjoyed his knowledge shown in magazines and on YT. It just break my heart that he have to go thru this ordeal and at the same liqudate all his posessions. I have donated USD 400 on the GoFund me account and I do urge everyone in the community to step up to the plate and donate whatever you are confortable with. Speedy recovery, Steve..
Good to see you back doing what you enjoy doing... We got the VIN, we win: 6 for 1966 model year, R for San Jose, CA assembly, 07 for two door hardtop, A for 289 CID V8 with four barrel, and the rest is the production sequence. The San Jose CA plant operated from 1955 to 1983 and was also known as Milpitas Assembly. The "Bullitt" Mustangs of the 1960s were also assembled at this plant. Other plants assembling Mustangs were Dearborn, MI assembly (closed in 2004) and Metuchen, NJ assembly (also called Edison Assembly, closed in 2004). We got the tag, we can brag: 65B for two door hardtop with luxury seats, T for Candyapple Red exterior paint, 65 for Red Crinkle Vinyl interior trim, 27H for Friday August 27, 1965 production, 62 for Houston, TX sales district, 1 for 3.00:1 rear axle ratio, non-locking, and 6 for C-4 automatic transmission.
Power brakes were offered from day one. I had a 64-1/2 that had factory power drum brakes. You could only get power drum brakes from 64 through 66. No power disc brakes. Power disc brakes came in 67.
Great coverage as always sir, thank you and keep healing. Thank you High Octane Classics for making this possible as well. And, finally, what a great looking Mustang! ~ Chuck
worth repeating from a another comment below, steve is not always right, but he is way more knowledgeable than i could ever be on classic cars: "Power brakes were offered from day one. Nothing is the same as these cars I know that but anyway I bought mine new in 1990 red on black with the 5 speed. As a kid these first gen cars were my favorite and the fox body is a pretty good update on that theme. I still have it.
I think that may be a drum brake car, it doesn't say disc on the pedal & didn't the non power disc brake cars come with a dual reservoir master ? ..get well soon Steve.
Keep’m coming Steve! Great Stuff! I always love learning and listening to your knowledge with this beautiful cars! And continue with a full recovery ❤️🩹🙏👍

Didnt realize those were hubcaps they look good ha!
They are called styled steel wheels. As explained by Steve, these 1966 wheels have trim rings.
Go Steve!
did you see the driver sider inner door panel falling off?
Yeah,I wondered if anyone else caught that, good eye brother, there inspectors are slipping up

Bellisimo
What happened to the disk brake, brake pedal and the fog lights?
most likely a "clone".
I think that may be a drum brake car, it doesn't say disc on the pedal & didn't the non power disc brake cars come with a dual reservoir master ? ..get well soon Steve.
Shouldn't a GT also have the fog lights on the grille in 66??
How much I will buy.
I like gingerbread
Steve said less is more. I'm still trying to figure out how I get more gingerbread for less.
