Always have a tremendous amount of respect for people that restore classics. There may be tons of them out there but unless they're well cared for, we don't see them out as often. Rough year but so much work done. Keep it up.
I've been clean and sober off the project car kick for almost 2 years. 0 project cars. Your video was so enjoyable to watch I started to look for another project and happened to Find a complete 66 coronet 2 door with minimal rust, for $1200. I just bought it this morning. Thanks...allot. 🤣
I feel your pain my friend. I've restored they rust buckets for over 40 years. Not much I haven't seen. The frustration is always worth it in the end. Even when it feels like the end will never come. Keep in there. Your doing great!!!
I'm working on one now. No more Vermont tags though. Love the Rockauto boxes and the budget restore. I call myself a preservationist. Love fixing the things that are broken. Best video out there showing it how it is. Young people should see this and learn the pleasures of working with your hands and the satisfaction of accomplishment. I'm 65 and spent my life doing this, slowly learning the techniques. Cheers my friend.
Enjoyed the minimalist approach to narrating and greatly enjoyed this video. The spring going flying and subsequent “f**ker” at 48:36 was me on every project I’ve ever done. 😂
One of the most interesting mustang videos I have seen. Never seen anyone restore a car with so much rust. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the project.
Awesome gem of a video. My dad had a 66. When I was somewhere around 7 years old I used to just walk around it and study it from different angles. I love the presence of these body styles. Liked and subscribed!
A daunting task and performed with a tasteful sense of humor and hilarious captions. You had me laughing out loud many times, and your expletives were totally appropriate. Thank you! Looking forward to more.
Changing the EGR valve on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler led to my neighbor coming over to me and saying hey, everything OK ? I cursed to a level of 100 sailors going through a hurricane in 1890.
HI Tom wow .great video . nice job wow ,you keep me intrested .all the way. love the little mustang . you do great work your so brave , you keep going . a lot of time invested to do a job like that ,good work and so fun to see the finished work , and then enjoy it ,,,,,thanks so much, for the video ,fraser from toronto ontario canada take care for now ...
I think it is great to see I'm not the only one who does the best they can and just wants a car to enjoy. Without spending 10's of thousands of dollars to make it perfect. Just get them back on the road and enjoy them. That's what it's all about in the end.
My '66 Mustang is a Frankenstein. Per sn it's supposed to be a standard with 289. That'd make it 5 lug rear and front underpinnings. It's a 6 cylinder, had an automatic with 4 lug wheels. It came with headers and a two barrel carburetor conversion. After finding the clutch pedal tucked up under the carpet, I just had to convert it back to manual. Best decision ever! I can get good enough performance to beat many metric wanna be racers.
took me 2 years had to replace rear quarter panels, complete trunk floor, doors, hood, trunk lid etc etc. there was no area mechanical that I did not rebuild, engine, trans, differential, added disc brakes and a/c, too many items to list. my mustang is the only vehicle that I own. I still work on the car and keep upgrading items that I need to. 78,000 miles and running fantastic
This was the best video !! Great content, great editing. You made it fun. I felt like I was doing it with you. Interesting, funny, informative. Looking forward to the next year !😊
12:10 I loved working on carburetors, my 1986 Honda XL 600, (In 1988) would stall on me constantly, even after bringing to Honda for service. I took the carb off, gave it a complete cleaning, and it ran like a clock after that, unfortunately 2 weeks later went through a ladies windshield and shattered my left leg 9 months in a cast, rods, one doctor even saying amputation was possible, but the advent of the EBI Bone Healer saved my leg, anyway , I digress.
I remember in the 80s we got cars like this for $500-$750 in good running shape. If I only knew, same for the Rolex I bought in 2002 for $3800, I should have bought 3 of them, and could have sold the 2 unopened for 18k each a few years back.
Carbs do make you fat but not as badly if they are complex. If you got away with crime in your youth, you've definitely paid your debt to society by now with all that work you did on this car. Made my 66 mustang look like a trailer queen. I feel like a lazy bum now.
I have a question because I'm about to do some body straightening on the back bumper and passenger side quarter panel for this 16 year old kid . I'm asking because he lives kinda far from me and he doesn't understand what I mean, go figure .. Is the back above the bumper completely strait ?
We used to say ( good enough for a government worker) 👍make it functional and kinda Shiney. And Enjoy it!! Let the next guy do an expensive ground up. All he'll do is stare at it ( like a boat out of water!!!

That’s the problem with these old fixes, fix one thing then downstream something else is going to fail, and you go down that wormhole, all good if you expect it and have the finances. As my buddy used to say, “it’s a pain in the dick”
@Tom Pappalardo thanks for your reply I understand what you mean. I found out with my mustand (some) that no body will play the money if it just runs that what happened to me. Cheers, no disrespect intended.

Good progress in one year, most people wouldn't touch this car, look forward to the next year!
It’s great to see another classic mustang come back to life ! Great video
I’ve watched innumerable car restoration videos and this one is amazing. Great job on all aspects of your build!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Was very easy to watch.
Looking forward to the next and the transformation

Beside the incredible an enormous work, your movie making skills are so excellent and pure passion.

I am in awe of your work on this 1966 Mustang! Well done sir will subscribe and follow
Yep, me too… my ‘66 looks a lot like that. 57 years on this planet can do that to a car.
14:01 LOL, We didn't expect to see that!😂
Coat Hanger “temporary”, that was a perm fix in my day of teenhood.
took me 2 years had to replace rear quarter panels, complete trunk floor, doors, hood, trunk lid etc etc. there was no area mechanical that I did not rebuild, engine, trans, differential, added disc brakes and a/c, too many items to list. my mustang is the only vehicle that I own. Good on ya
Good job Tom
So nicely filmed, very good shots and cuts. I like the video. Must be a nightmare, but you saved an US icon.
Keep at it, Mustangs rock ! Get some floors from Dynacorn.
This was the best video !! Great content, great editing. You made it fun. I felt like I was doing it with you. Interesting, funny, informative. Looking forward to the next year !😊

Whata good find

A cool car wow
Pretty f'n enjoyable video. Not one busted knuckle.....yet
I don't recall seeing one video where you have nice weather. It's always raining, snowing, cold etc. Sucks man. I feel for ya.
There's a reason New Englanders are grumpy fucks, ha.
I like it!!!!! Awsome!!!
ДУЖЕ ТЯЖКО ТАКЕ ВІДРО ВІДНОВИТИ
I remember in the 80s we got cars like this for $500-$750 in good running shape. If I only knew, same for the Rolex I bought in 2002 for $3800, I should have bought 3 of them, and could have sold the 2 unopened for 18k each a few years back.
I see your in New England too
sticky tape over rust holes, good job
Use a string to pull the spring
hell yea brother

13:47 Oh there's f/king gas in Here!
13:50 Shoers sparks everywhere from the angle grinder.
Classic.
That’s a giant oil filter for a 6, wow.
Did a mouse come out of the exhaust pipe or was I seeing things?
It *did* look like a little skull, but it was all nutshells and nest material.
I have a question because I'm about to do some body straightening on the back bumper and passenger side quarter panel for this 16 year old kid .
I'm asking because he lives kinda far from me and he doesn't understand what I mean, go figure ..
Is the back above the bumper completely strait ?
Only if I can add some pictures it would be nice
We used to say ( good enough for a government worker) 👍make it functional and kinda Shiney. And Enjoy it!! Let the next guy do an expensive ground up. All he'll do is stare at it ( like a boat out of water!!!
Cómo parchar un clásico, aunque todo podría ser válido no necesariamente debería ser así
Can you add a turbo kit for it
I could push it down a steep hill, maybe.
are you going to do a follow up video after the repair of the floor?
This long video is a compilation of 18 short episodes. You can pick up where this leaves off at episode 19: ruclips.net/p/PLf5vjOi-izPxPterhE8xNQneOOgMAZa8y
vous avez beaucoup de courage , parce qu elle tres abimée votre mustang
Don’t laugh. He’s not the one who lives in a hamster maze or an HOA.
the six car is worth keeping in original stock....they are more rare than a v8 one
Funniest thing I've seen in awhile. 0 talking almost all video (which I liked) and then out of nowhere just a "fucker"!!!!
Varnished gas worse than old gear oil in the differential ?
I love the random 'Fuck You!' comments really captures the shit you had to deal with.
That’s the problem with these old fixes, fix one thing then downstream something else is going to fail, and you go down that wormhole, all good if you expect it and have the finances. As my buddy used to say, “it’s a pain in the dick”
64 and a half Duuu
Just grab an engine hoist and ditch the 6.
🫵😌.. like this video.. more doing less talking like most.... 🫵😌100%%🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍

That L bracket goes on under the body lip not on top.
Pull that six out and rebuild it is sixty years old why are frustrating your self.
Because I'm learning and enjoying myself.
@Tom Pappalardo thanks for your reply I understand what you mean. I found out with my mustand (some) that no body will play the money if it just runs that what happened to me. Cheers, no disrespect intended.
This isnt right
You did not answer my questions regarding this project; therefore I have unsubscribed due to lack of interest.
Love following along on Instagram, mate!
