Incredible stuff mate. Found it really helpful with no knowledge of production but just bought the samples as a first piece of gear. You seem like a great guy - wishing you all the best in life!!!
Such a great video. I've been gradually getting to grips with the Samples, but you've made so much drop into place for me. Thanks for hitting on so much useful stuff and for explaining it so clearly. Really appreciate your help.
hey brotha, not gonna lie, I bought one of these a few months ago and am just now getting into it. You did exactly what got me started learning the MC-505 back in the day: you walked through building a song. Incredibly well done. You wouldn't know it by the brevity of your words, but you dropped a TON of knowledge into 22minutes, people won't even be fully aware of what they learned. I wish I could double like, so I just subbed instead!
Fantastic Useful Tutorial ! You showed me some serious stuffs which I absolutely dont know and now i can use those on my Model:Cycles. I can tell you one "trick"(maybe you dont know it) : When you are in the "FACTORY" menu you can listen your sound, you only need to hit the corresponding pad. You can do this when you're changing your waveform or instrument in "trigger/condition mode" too with 3 fingers > stay on the trig, turn you factory "knobutton" and hit you pad in the same time !(hope it will help... or not ;)) Thanks for all the great job, your videos are really pedagogical and clear as water, it's very pleasant ! Greetings !
Absolutely superb tuto! I've watched a bunch of them but this is by far, the easiest to understand. Sometimes the workflow on this guy is a bit confusing. But again, great work. Subbed!
I went from having no idea how to make anything other than turning it on and off to making tracks in less than 8 minutes watching this video. Thank you very much.
wish you could walk me through using my other gear! your approach was perfect for seamlessly teaching functionality and menus organcially while making this beat. much appreciated. i've gone through this a couple of times and it's made this little thing way more approachable. elektron should thank you for filling in the blanks. this would have gone back or gathered dust if not for your awesome introduction!
Great tutorial on the Model Samples. I have only had mine about a week and am finding it both inspiring but also a little frustrating. It is not harder to use than other gear, but it is quite different. What I love about it are...the sequencer, great and inspiring built in samples, excellent built in reverb with size control (yey), the filter also has its own nice sound. I do find myself scratching my head a lot, but I believe the rewards of mastering this little instrument will be worth it! I'm not a fan of the look of the device though, so sterile, so I've ordered an overlay from Oversynth. Should make the sections clearer and easier to use too!
I'm in the same boat as you... a lot of things in this video were things I already knew...and some were lightbulb moments where I just knew the thing had to be a little deeper than what I was getting out if it. This is probably one of the best tutorials I've seen for this, in depth or not. I can't think of any other ~20 minute video that really does set you up to make a track with some of the cool little tricks built in. Hell, the manual doesn't even do that!
@@s3nsec0rruptr80 Yeah, for me the creation of the fill trigger on Page was unexpected and super useful. Everything else was new though, I've had mine for a couple months and I was still treating it like the MC-505 I learned on back in the day. [define all your pattern lengths etc up front.] Conditional triggers on bars as well as retrigs were very new to me and are quite nice.

Very awesome tutorial. Bitesize just works. This is definitely the underrated one out of the bunch. It has charm and is still capable, just look at Raumskaya does with it. I end up not even pairing it with the digitone and just use it by itself and it can go really far without the mangling capabilities of the others. Still want a Takt and Octa and Tracker though lmao. Oh the problems of choice

You make great videos! One thing I don't fully understand about the Model Series is the LFO Speed control. Does this change the LFO frequency relative to what it is set at in the LFO setup menu? Or independently? For instance, if you have the LFO setup menu at x2 the tempo, does the LFO Speed control change that to x4, x8, x16? Or does it change the LFO relatively, in which case a slight change would throw the LFO off the tempo sync. It seems weird to have 2 different ways to control LFO frequency, but maybe I just don't understand it. 2nd question, when using in a performance and holding TRACK to adjust all parameters at once, do all parameters change relative to where they started? If you hold TRACK and push a parameter to an extreme, does it zero out that parameter for all tracks? Thanks EZBOT!
