Thanks for the fantastic vid! You never cease to entertain! I first bought an Analog Four mk1 when it just released, then an Analog Rytm a couple years later and a Digitakt after that. And ya know what? I think I got my Elektron fix and I'm done. These are all still great instruments and I don't think I need another one. BUT I'm glad there are budget options like the Samples and Cycles for those wanting to join the cult.
Every time i hear the EH Platform compressor i feel like i should get one because it sounds so damn punchy! I don't own any synths or drumboxes anymore (even though i'm still eyeballing some gear just for the fun of it) and i play the drums so there's absolutely no use for a pedal in my house, and i still want one. So good! Great video again, the Samples seems like a fun little box! Best wishes for 2023, hope you'll continue putting out these awesome video's. The only way to start your weekend.
My thought process was: I'm sick of being tied up to a computer because I would like to actually play my instruments. I purchased a synth. Now I need a drum machine. A drum machine up to 300 euros max. My research led me to the conclusion that I can get very limited analog or a hybrid machine. Limited to the point of frustration. I love analog drums and shaping like DFAM but you cant get that for 300 Euros. All you get is pitch and (if lucky) ADSR. Sampler seems to be the most versatile option. You can at least choose the sound you want without constrictions. On top of that I get the Elektron trigger locks. I can change the default sound on each of the steps. Even if you're not planning to use it, it gives you a lot of headroom in the future. It seems like a good investment. For me personally better than Roland 4 sets of pre-defined drums with pitch, decay and release controls. Eventually you can use this sampler for virtually anything you like. It doesn't have to be drums. That's why I think this device is too cheap for the headroom you get.
It's Friday again! Thanks for the review! I was waiting for the battery handle to purchase one of these as a mobile device but if I recall right the battery handles were pulled off from the market. I'm happy with DT and DN.
Fair game. I bought mine, took the learning curve and made some lazy tracks with it. Enjoyed it, boxed and stored it and am now looking forward to the time I dig it out and find out it's obsolete in every way. Which does sound like a TB-303 history, so yeah: future classic! I had a :Cycles too but sold it because its internal (not-nice) distortion sounded much worse than the :Samples'. All-in-all, embrace Bad Gear, we'll be fine.
I love my model samples and cherish it dearly, it makes things fun and easy for my lizard brain I used lmms previously, which is basically free and open-source fl studio (possible bad gear contestant? It would come at no cost to you😉), but there were some limitations like lack of swing, less precise tempo control, and other things that keeps me on the samples I do wish there was an onboard master compressor and at least one polyphonic sequencer track on it, but those are limitations I can work with I don't think I could have asked for a better first groovebox
You've gotten round to my main piece of studio gear! I love the M:S and I'm more productive with it than in any other gear so far. I filled the hard drive a little over half full with sounds I've collected over the years. The sequencer let's you sample flip and cheat with conditional trigs so you can do way more with a single track than you'd think.

There's a tiny box to tick and I definitely had to watch a tutorial for it;)
Thanks for the fantastic vid!
Thank you! They are like Pokemon, gotta catch them all;)
Every time i hear the EH Platform compressor i feel like i should get one because it sounds so damn punchy!
Im still doubting between ehx plattform and empress compressor bass mkii
Thanks! Platform is much recommended!!!
Cloud having a Digitone Keys instead of the Buster Sword was a cute touch...
😀
Oooh that final track... :) Delight!
Thank you!!!
Man, sometimes these demos make me want to go back to 1994 and play Ridge Racer.
That's what I do in my spare time;)
My thought process was: I'm sick of being tied up to a computer because I would like to actually play my instruments.
Utterly hilarious, once again! And full of truth! Thanks mate!
Thank you!!!
It's Friday again! Thanks for the review!
I was waiting for the battery handle to purchase one of these as a mobile device but if I recall right the battery handles were pulled off from the market.
I'm happy with DT and DN.
These handles were a real danger to your health;)
Embrace Bad Gear❤️❤️❤️
I love my model samples and cherish it dearly, it makes things fun and easy for my lizard brain
I used lmms previously, which is basically free and open-source fl studio (possible bad gear contestant? It would come at no cost to you😉), but there were some limitations like lack of swing, less precise tempo control, and other things that keeps me on the samples
I do wish there was an onboard master compressor and at least one polyphonic sequencer track on it, but those are limitations I can work with
I don't think I could have asked for a better first groovebox
LMMS is moving up my list, thanks!!!
@@AudioPilz Woo, I'm hyped! Good luck out there
You've gotten round to my main piece of studio gear! I love the M:S and I'm more productive with it than in any other gear so far. I filled the hard drive a little over half full with sounds I've collected over the years. The sequencer let's you sample flip and cheat with conditional trigs so you can do way more with a single track than you'd think.
Subbed for Proto Dub : - )
Nice!!!
@@Goettel Thanks!
Ahh a piece of truly “bad” gear. Yessir May I have another sir!
Working on it;)
The ending summed it up so well - gimme FZ10m inna Octatrack 😋
Thanks!!!
What a superstart of 2023 loved that witch video, Ioved the last one to with the moog dancers. Best wishes
TAO von Sweden.
Thank you!!!
Never got inspired by my Samples. Thanks for the likely bump in the resale price (The AudioPilz Effect) of mine.
It's usually just a little spike;)
That track at the end was fire 🔥 great ep as always
Thank you!!!
the Model:Samples is my main machine right now
Nice!
You raised your own bar with this one. EXCELLENT video.
Thank you!!!
