    one of the greatest shooters of all time

  • @mr.e347
    @mr.e347 9 лет назад +36

    Hornacek until today is way underrated. Shooters back then didnt have the freedom to shoot as they do now when personal results care more. Now every crap is taking 3s. Horny should be HOF.

      Mr. Entringer Hornacek was a 3 point shooter

      dont forget if you even look at certain guys shooting in the league now they get put on the line, back then it was tougher for shooters

      I hear you. You make my point for me. Fine for Horny, Price, Reggie to fire 3's regularly (though they didn't really). But today, every Jack and Joe just fire away. It's why a team goes 14 for 25 one night, 5 for 33 the next. I'd MUCH prefer some semblance of consistency.

      @@Amick44 All I know is Jeff Hornacek was VERY underrated (and I'm a diehard Celtics fan, so not pushing an agenda when I say HOW good Jeff was as a player). Hubie Brown said it best, "Jeff Hornacek, in his own way, has a nice gait about himself, and he does not try to force the action, he tries to do something solid every time he has the basketball." That pretty much summed up Hornacek as a player. HOFer in my eyes.

      @@mikes3827 I admired Jeff Hornacek a great deal. He was a solid option and had an excellent career except for the 76ers which wasn’t his fault. But HOF not even close.

    In my humble opinion Jeff Hornacek is the greatest shooter of all time. He was born in a shooter's rhythm. There could be 5 minutes left in a game and he could be 2 for 5 from the field...and could rattle off 5 in a row, no problem. He also had the ability to drive the lane and shoot over much bigger players....just overall underrated.

    • @DB_Cooper.
      @DB_Cooper. 8 лет назад +3

      Had a beauty of a shot. Can't think of a better one. Nash had good percentages but Hornacek's release was just sublime. Chris Mullin's lefty set-shot was nice. Dale Ellis was a stud.

    • @Amick44
      @Amick44 7 лет назад

      He is/was an excellent shooter. For sure. And a solid, underrated player overall.

      The most underrated player in the modern NBA era?

    • @Amick44
      @Amick44 6 лет назад +1

      He is certainly in the discussion, at the least. And a good enough all around player to be solid starter. He was no Steve Kerr, Craig Hodges, just a 3 point specialist.

    Everyone remembers him with the Jazz, but his best years were with the Suns. Anyone who says he wasn't great should watch him with the Suns.

    • @carlt8188
      @carlt8188 2 года назад +2

      Completely agree. I'm a native Utahn and remember Jeff and the Suns whipping our butts in the playoffs year after year. TBH I hated that guy. When he came to the Jazz I remember how excited everyone was here in Utah. Jeff was a good player for us but yes his best years were with the Suns

    • @billionairelivesmatter
      @billionairelivesmatter 2 года назад +1

      @@carlt8188 He was a perfect fit for Utah, but he had to be even more of a playmaker for the Suns, he played a lot of point when Kevin Johnson was out, while also playing 2 guard and 3 man. He was in his prime physically and often carried them. But the Suns were overloaded with finesse players, thus the trade for Barkley who was a perfect fit for the Suns with his great rebounding and toughness, besides being a great offensive player in his own right.

    I saw an exhibition game in Ames, Iowa home of ISU, Hornacek's old school, with the Suns. I remember because Rambis was there too. I walked past the usher with my son while he was flirting wiith a few hotties and we went around the end of the court during warm-ups. I remember thinking how tall even the 'little' players were!
