i accidentally skipped question 4. your favorite booktube memory. it would be briefly co-running a book club and i would love to do it again. would you be interested in a book club? give this a thumbs up if yes 👍👍 ignore if no!
Thank you for this video. I've been a fan of Booktube for YEARS. In my family im.the only reader and i gravitated to youtube to share and discuss my love of books with like-minded individuals. I used to follow the 'bigger' channels. But to be honest, I haven't always felt wanted in those groups. I tried participating in the various things they had going on, but in the end, I felt left out. Wasn't part of the cool crew. Yes, Booktube almost feels like you're back in high school, dealing with various clicks. Kinda like your comment of being on the outside looking in. So, I basically follow the smaller channels. Ive found some really good channels and i do adore their content. They appreciate and make you feel welcomed and valued. You're one of my favorite Booktuber, and I make it a point to make sure that I don't miss a video. Your joy and passion for the discussion of books is wonderful to see and one can't help but feel enlightened after viewing. Continuing to support and watch your videos. Don't worry about the numbers. The content that you provide is so GREATLY appreciated. Take care!!
This video made me think about the Booktubers I enjoy watching and why. For example, I subscribe to you because you seem kind, you’re clearly passionate about reading and books, you read different and diverse books, and the way you review is enjoyable. Respectful but also honest. It is puzzling to me that you don’t have more subscribers. Anyway, thank you for being such a great presence here!
@10:56 - I totally appreciated the different selection of books on the first video I watched. I haven't heard of most of the books you talked about so I had so many tabs open to check them out later.
(Hi! I'm someone who randomly found your channel through your most recent video 'Buy Books With Me'!) @6:05 - So going by the behavior of smaller channels that managed to connect to other booktubers (large and small), the way they join the community is by commenting on a lot of booktubers' videos, which has a lot of them comment back on their videos. They also join a couple of large discord servers and comment there. It seems like a lot of work but I've seen a couple of booktubers grow that way since they get invited to appear on bigger channels or mentioned/shouted out by them. I don't know if it works all the time and it has to be a genuine interaction for the most part but that's what I've noticed.
I feel this so much. I've been doing RUclips since 2007 and booktube since around 2017/2018 and I'm still so small and I barely get views but I stopped caring about the numbers a long time ago because I have a small group that still watch and that's enough for me to keep going.
I know what you mean. I used to feel so bad about it, especially with other channels that seem to grow so fast compared to me, but I think it's just a huge game of luck when it comes to any online platform. And like it's hard to accept that and it's not possible every day!! Imo. But I am also thankful for the group of people I've met and who comment on my videos etc. It's what keeps me going too.
YES omg congrats on 400 subs 🥹 also I think I'm also trying to just literally shut out the #'s part of it, even though it is still nice when more people find my videos. I'm trying to just be like .. listen, I literally created this channel to find friends and other people who like books. not be a ✨youtuber✨
