wow that is amazing! good luck, i know u can do it! i started learning korean recently and i am struggling a little but i won’t give up. i’m also fluent in romanian (my native language) and english :))
I also wanna add to the language learning tips! 1) With the vocabulary list, after writing down the new word and its meanings, use the word in a sentence. Remember, the whole sentence must be in your target language. This way you can strengthen your knowledge on how to use the word and it actually makes it a lot easier to remember (depending on how many times you used it in a sentence. 2) During the familiarizing phase, it's a lot better to watch something first before reading something. It's a lot more efficient when you see and hear the language you want to learn about instead of just seeing it. This also help you be more aware of the intonations to use so even when you come across an unfamiliar word you would intuitively know how it would sound like (it might not be necessarily accurate but it's good enough; you would also feel more confident about yourself when you guessed right on how to speak that word ^^ at least that's how it is to me :P) 3) Visualizing is your friend. While visualizing tho, try to make your inside voice speak in your target language.
As a language teacher, one of the biggest challenges I have is to show students that learning a new language is more than memorizing words. I've seen students trying to memorize the entire dictionary way too often hehe
something I do is making up a story in the language I wanna learn (once I already know the basics of the language) a few sentences a day or just one paragraph is good. It takes a week and it’s good practice it keeps me busy and I’m not so bored while doing it
That's what my spanish teacher did! What language are you learning I'm starting Thai but there aren't a lot of rescources on youtube about Thai unfortunately,
My biggest tip is to constantly describe the things around you in your desired language. It's really good at helping you phrase things on the go- and it immediately highlights gaps in your vocabulary, as well as identifying which words are relevant in an everyday context, as opposed to vague, ethereal language in your textbook that's less relevant to your daily reality 💕💕💕

Thanks for the tips! I'm currently learning Korean and Persian simultaneously! My first language is probably English. I say probably because I grew up in a Hispanic household so I developed Spanish at the same time. I'm more comfortable with English than Spanish since my entire education was completely in English. Good luck to everyone learning! Let's create wonderful memories. If anyone has any specific tips for either language (Korean or Persian), don't hesitate to let me know! Thanks! 💓
Are you fluent in Korean? If no or yes, how many years did it take you to learn it? I’m trying to learn Korean because I got into Kpop and kdrama a while ago and I’m trying to fit in and understand and stuff, I’m using Duolingo but learning Korean as an arab + English speaker hasn’t been the easiest and I’m slowly giving up
@@Roody09 @Wonyoungslvr I'm not fluent yet so I'm still learning. There's many good free resources online. That's my favorite resource to learn Korean.
heyy I'm learning Persian and Korean too! other than that I've learnt some French and German and I'm fluent in Turkish, English and Urdu. I learnt Korean mainly through dramas, i naturally picked up some so i decided to continue on with it. I took a Persian class in uni to get some basics down and recently have started watching Iranian serials too tho its hard to find them in eng subtitles. I managed tofind some with turkish subtitles so thats how i follow along for now
This video is great! I never really considered the upkeep/maintenance as part of learning a language but it's so important. It's why so many people grew up speaking something and eventually forgot. They didn't maintain it! So cool to know. I'm an English speaker, trying to learn Spanish and ASL(I'd love to learn more, but my sights are low). But I have social anxiety and audio-processing disorder. So I have a hard time communicating with people in my native language either because I forget what I wanna say, panic and freeze up, or just get so overwhelmed no one understands what I'm trying to say. Then sometimes I just can't hear what people are saying. My family calls it "creative hearing" because I never quite understand, and tend to hear something they didn't say+fill in the blanks. It's like it takes my brain twice as long to register what other people hear with ease. These make the task of learning a language seem daunting and impossible... I would *love* to know Spanish and many other languages, but... It seems so anti-climactic. Do you have any thoughts on this?? (Didn't mean to write so much, I just really enjoyed your video. It gave me a lot to think about!)
Thanks you very much. I am French but I watch your videos to learn English since there are subtitles. Your videos are beautiful and well constructed. Continue like that
Thank you for this video! I’m a 13 year old girl whose goal is to learn 2 languages and be fluent in them by the time I’m 21. I love the idea about reading your favorite book in the language you’re trying to learn because that was actually an idea I had! I’m trying to read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Spanish right now and it’s challenging, but when I recognize a word, it’s VERY nice. Thank you so much for this video!

Maintenance is vital. It really is. I have learnt English for like six years and I could communicate with people in English without any difficulty. But last year I had to take a very important exam and I neglected English for like four months. After that period, my English was terrible and it still is right now. I'm struggling to get my fluency back now. So don't forget to keep in touch with your target language even if you're fluent in it❤️

i’m from chile and i’m re-learning spanish along with learning french. I’m pretty much fluent in spanish now and i’m pretty good at french. My biggest tips are watching DISNEY live-action movies in whatever language you’re learning and put the subtitles in whatever language you are learning. Again, do this with LIVE-ACTION DISNEY MOVIES! Specifically PRINCESS ONES. They make such large obvious gestures that make it incredibly easy to understand. While learning french I often went to this little french café and spoke in french and talked to the french owner about how i was trying to learn french. Doing simple conversation is a good way to get experience on talking with actual people in that language. Also, while i was learning spanish again I shopped at ZARA a ton just to speak to the employees there in spanish. They literally all speak spanish. Have fun learning your language!
I used this video to help myself learn spanish. And a year later, im very proud to say i am officially pretty much fluent in dominican/puerto rican spanish! But i will say, a very important part for me was actually getting friends that spoke that exact dialect to challenge me by speaking spanish to me like i was already fluent. That forces you to catch on. Surround yourself and youll pick up faster than you ever thought you would!!
Love the video! I want to say that I’m Spanish and since a lot of people is trying to learn Spanish I’m up in case you need someone to chat! I’m just a regular, not a teacher or anything.

Well hi Bella! Your video on language learning tips is incredibly helpful and relatable! I admire your dedication to maintaining and improving your language skills. Your tips are practical and insightful, reflecting your own experiences as a language learner. I particularly like your emphasis on building vocabulary, using online resources and practising with others to improve language skills. Your advice to 'fake it till you make it' underlines the importance of immersion and observation in language learning. I've found that listening to and imitating native speakers has been crucial to improving my pronunciation and fluency in various languages. Also, your encouragement to embrace mistakes and stay motivated is very much on my mind. Language learning can indeed be a challenging journey, but with clear goals and enthusiasm for the process, it is all the more rewarding. Thank you so much for sharing your valuable insights and tips! I
I'm currently learning Japanese and this helped me alot! After Japanese I was going to learn Spanish, French and Arabic since the languages are close to English. Be patient everybody and practice regularly.
I would advice you to focus on Arabic atm because Arabic is really different from all the other languages and as a native learner of Arabic it is probably the most complex language and I think you should focus on that first

I’m Brazilian, and I’m learning English and Chinese. This is very hard for me because these languages are completely different from my mother language, and them by itself.
Living in a household with english speakers made things easier for me to adapt too. It's somehow a habit me and my siblings picked up to speak in english (tho both parents aren't any fluent, and we're living in a country with barely anyone speaking english at all). So now that i am pretty much fluent in Indonesian, English and Javanese (my mother tongue), it's actually easier to adapt with unfamiliar grammar. Like for example, i am currently learning korean and i found it highkey different than IDN & ENG's grammar, but it was easier to understand how the grammar works than how it was when i started learning english the very first time- for short, it's like a headstart, lol. Thank you for the tips, despite what i've stated, i am super lost on how to continue learning Korean :') I've only been depending on language learning apps (Duolingo, Cake, Papago) and watching korean contents (K-pop, variety shows, k-youtubers etc.)
As my experience, communicating with people that speaks the language/dialect you're trying to learn is very effective!(when I lived in a province and communicated with people who speaks a dialect, it's like my mind starts to get into the dialect and connect to my native language somehow)
I'm Arabic , and I always try to learn languages , I can talk arabic fluently and that's normal because I live in arabic country , but learning english is my desire for a long time , I have a lot of vocabs but when I speak I faced problems like i forget the vocabs or being afraid and became nervous quickly ! i'll always try to learn and that's can't stop me but the real problem is I don't have anyone to practice with him english and that's make me a little bad and afraid when I speak .

I'm planning on learning French, it's going to be my third language (hopefully) but I haven't learned a new language in so long that I kinda forgot how exactly I did it in the first place, or at least an order that makes sense for someone who doesn't know a single thing about it, so I found your video very helpful, especially because I did some of the things you recommend (and still do).
btw, I recommend the DRAE dictionary for Spanish, it's the official dictionary for the language and it's really helpful for context (even though WordReference is amazing).
Great advice - thanks for sharing Bella! Good luck to all my fellow students out there!

One thing I appreciated about this video was your vulnerability to admit you were still learning and building. Great video!

Thank you for this video! I’m a 13 year old girl whose goal is to learn 2 languages and be fluent in them by the time I’m 21. I currently speak English (my first language) and a semi-decent amount of Spanish (which I am improving on every single day) with hopes of learning Italian so that one day I can go to Italy and have no problem communicating with the locals.

I can totally relate since I speak Korean, Japanese, English, French, Arabic and Chinese. All of those languages, I self studied and used free resources that I found on the internet (except for Arabic and Korean since Korean is my first language and I learnt Arabic from reading the Quran). A very helpful tip is to use Quizlet for flash cards and pdf for working and “Study with me” videos to help motivate you. I hope this comment helps you to study! ✌

i’m from chile and i’m re-learning spanish along with learning french.
How did you get friends that speak Spanish?

Thank you for the tips, despite what i've stated, i am super lost on how to continue learning Korean :')
I've only been depending on language learning apps (Duolingo, Cake, Papago) and watching korean contents (K-pop, variety shows, k-youtubers etc.)

It's really interesting for me how others learn languages, cause after summer break I'm going to learn my 4th language.
