The worst and most unbelievable trope in my view, is 'relationships' which start out with sex following which the male becomes besotted. I'd suggest they're rare as hen's teeth!
I was wondering how would you classify the tropes around Pepper Potts/Tony Stark relationship, if you are familiar with it? The power dynamics between them aren't strictly employee/boss, I feel like... (I only know the movies, not the comics)
Good questions! I feel like the romance still works. The films consistently show Pepper as someone who can stand up to Tony and make her own decisions. For example, she rejects his advances initially, and Tony respects her boundaries. To me, their romantic connection feels organic, built on mutual respect and admiration rather than coercion or power plays. I think that's because they are friends more than employee/boss before the romance even begins. What do you think?
I was a victim of the bet trope in high school. I wished I was Carrie.
I'm so so sorry about that. It really is a cruel thing to play with someone's feelings like that! ❤️🩹
The ultimate revenge for the bet or dare trope is in Carrie by Stephen King.
That is so true. A bet/dare revenge love story actually sounds like a good romance book plot
Opinionated bookworms are such a turn on

I don't love that one either 😅
