Two of my faves that aren't retellong are -Lovely War by Julie Berry (historical romance) Pandora's Jar by Natalie Haynes (feminist nonfiction) I read the Iliad, The Odyssey, Song of Achilles, and Circe this year. Circe is very accurate, but Song of Achilles is very very inaccurate. She changed the characters and story significantly to make Achilles a likable character instead of the awful person he was in the myth.

No but I wish people realised this is someone else's cultural heritage and treat it as such.
