    This is made SO nicely and high quality - but also explained very simply. She is clearly an expert :) I wish stores actually made their clothes with that much care, then I would actually be willing to pay the price they ask!

    I don’t sew but I’m so interested in a slip dress and I also think that to your original point it’s very difficult to get one that fits well on the top and the bottom so having a customize dress is the wayto go! So fun to watch and great results.

    Well done . Easy to follow and enjoyable to watch . Just one thing . Dresses made on the cross grain (bias cut) should be hung at least overnight to allow for the fabric to relax . You'll find the hem will be uneven and need re-cutting before you finally sew hem .

    • @makeitfit4634
      @makeitfit4634  3 года назад +1

      Hello Pristina! I'm not sure. It can give a thick edge that will be visible through the fabric in the area of breasts. The back facing you can make without serger for sure. There was one technique ( which was described in the instructions). You position your fusible interfacing with non glue side to the right side of the back facing, make a straight stitch close to the edge, flip it over and fuse your interfasing to the wrong side of the back facing. Like this you can have a closed edge. But front facing...try to make at first a rolled hem on a small piece of textile, make it flat with ironing and look if you can see it through the main textile.

    Hi love i need some tips desperately. I’m wearing a silk dress to a small wedding in two weeks and it has a slip attached under the dress. I have wider hips and a bigger butt than average and the slip makes me have horrible lines and shows through the silk dress. I lifted up the slip to see how the silk dress would look without it and it looks perfect. Is there a possible way I could get it removed, I never wear dresses so I wouldn’t know. 😕😭😞

    • @makeitfit4634
      @makeitfit4634  3 года назад +1

      Hi! It is hard to say without seeing how is it attached. I believe there is a way how to do it. Two weeks is enough time to solve your dress problem. If there is a problem only in the hip zone you could shorten the slip under. But again it is hard for me to give any recommendations without seeing it

    i have some questions: what was the tension numbers that you used to sew w/ this material on your serger? did you do a four-thread serge or a three-thread? great tutorial!!!

      Thank you Aly! I used a standard tension( 4 ). But it can be different from sewing machine to sewing machine.
      I was using 4 thread serge. But 3 serge can work good as well )

    hi! i was just wondering how much seam allowance the pattern already has and how much you added? since the french seam calls for a 1.5 seam allowance. thank you!

      Hi! The pattern has 1cm seam allowances. I added nothing extra. French seam not necessary calls a 1,5 seam allowance. It can be shorter.

      @@makeitfit4634 oh okay thanks so much for answering - i just thought because in the beginning you said you added a red line (the adjustments for your perimeters) but if you chose your size, is that necessary? thank you for clearing it up.

      @Sonya i can't tell you exact model right now, but i remember it is a stem generator Philips easy care. Not so long ago i bought a budget version iron for my other working place Philips Azur.
