the more videos you put out about the Hasidic people, the more I'm realizing they might be some of the nicest, caring people out there. In America at least
When my son was in the hospital for emergency surgery a similar jewish organization brought a magician who did tricks for him in his room. Really changed his mood for sure. They also left left toys for him )and his siblings). And they brought a handmade blanket with a little note that introduced the high schooler who made it. Years later the toys are broken or he grew out of them, but the memory of that magician stayed strong. Oh and the blanket is now too small for him but it's in his bed every night.
I had no idea of what the Hasidic Jewish community looked like until you released these videos. Thank you for showing the world these amazing people. I now have a huge respect for these people and an understanding I would have not have known without these videos. Thank you.

@@brandonlewis5135 The value of any lifestyle is determined by those who live it and not the opinion of those living outside of it. Yes, there are many restrictions in place. Hi Peter! I am so appreciative of the series you've done on the Hasidic Jewish population in NYC. I am a senior; my late mother was Jewish, father was Italian Catholic. I was raised the latter because we saw my dad's family more and also for educational purposes. During my forties, my mother was experiencing the first of many serious medical issues and this triggered a curiosity about the faith from which she was born and, according to Jewish law, the faith I share. I studied with a Hasidic rabbi and while I am still a Christian, I learned so much and it increased the bond with my mother. The Hasidic are greatly maligned and they are an easy target since they probably never see the films that depict them in a negative fashion. Once again, thanks so much!
Do you know that according to Jewish law religion is passed down from mother to child? So even though you consider yourself a Christian, you are actually 100% Jewish too.

Yes! We can get back to that here in the USA, it’s possible. We don’t need the government to “help” us and then cut us off whenever they decide. I know that this might seem far away from where we are now but all we need is just one kind act at a time. I believe we can all get there one by one which eventually be all of us together. 🇺🇸🤝 United.
@@Winter-inAmeriKKa and that's fine - one thing I noticed (as I was expecting the opposite) was that I didn't see any rejection of the larger society this community is part of. Thing I took away was that they'd just decided "to do more, themselves". I'm Western European and, whilst a chuck of the US seem to think it's a socialist-nightmare - I like it. I want to fund a government that will cover-my-ass if it all goes wrong for me. It's really efficient worst-case insurance. If I lose my job, if I get sick etc - I don't need to worry. What we often lose in this mindset though, is community. I don't need to worry about the healthcare costs of my sick child, but the government isn't going to provide somebody to make my child smile. Those were some juggling skills...(and I say this as a man who only got as far as "three of anything")
It is not often you see such community these days, especially with how things are with covid and sharing space. The series has been very eye opening Peter. Thanks & have a good Christmas 🎄 NY.
One of the biggest things in Judaism is called achdut. It means unity and I've seen first hand people save other ppls financial, physical, mental or religious Situations to people they've never met in their life. But its not something that's exclusive to us. I've seen other neighborhoods that aren't Jewish coming up with organizations that the more fortunate ppl can donate to and anyone can volunteer. Like someone said in these comments. It doesn't matter who ur president or government is. Here in America we make our own community what it is.
Raafee Khan, I assume you mean no insult, but saying that "Jews are loaded in every regard" is actually a loaded statement that likely will not go over well with many Jews. The stereotype that Jews are wealthy is not as nice or harmless as it sounds. It's often used as an attack on Jews. Plus, it's not true. But like I said, I don't think you meant any harm. I just wanted to point out how this sort of statement is perceived by many Jews. Something to think about.
@@avrahamgoldberg9731 we were forced to open business from all the work bans for thousands of years basically. All Jewish organizations (and there are so so many) started because someone saw a need and filled the void! U can be the one to start a group. Good luck and best wishes!
The amount of good work and help the jewish people do for others inside and outside their communities is unreal but because its done so discreetly and without any fanfare or attention you'd never know it was happening sometimes. I could walk past a house where someone's getting help or help was available but you'd never know it was happening unless you asked

Peter, thank you for this series of videos. I was born in Brooklyn and have been living north of Toronto for the past 60 years. I am now a stage 4 cancer patient and find that these videos have reconnected me to where I once lived and grew up. It is heart warming to see the community that has grown up and enveloped the minds and hearts of so many. Please keep doing what your are doing. These stories, videos and communications help to bring people together and break down the challenges that our society is facing today not to mention a tear to an old heart. Happiest and healthiest of holidays to you and your family!
Wow...Unbelievable at this time in this country. No problems with finding volunteers instead of burnt-out, overworked, underpaid Social Workers whom no longer care. With ALL...The presence of God is SO REAL in all these people are, and do. Never realized how far this country has fallen until watching this series...As, it is possible for some of we older folks to remember when this display of faith in God, tradition, attitude and love of life and people was far more common.
This is great! As the mother of two children (well all grown now) with disabilities and two without it is heartwarming to see that the whole family is included. I recently heard the term "Glass Child" and sadly it is so often true, no matter how hard you try, often the healthy children have to take a back seat when you are doing everything you can just to keep the other child alive. For us the disabilities often were a 24 hour care situation and frequently financially it is difficult. When you have to decide between new shoes for a child who has a hole in the sole of their shoes or medication to keep another child alive the shoes will lose every time. So many of your videos leave me in tears (good ones that come from the heart)

A very long time ago my grandfather helped a struggling young father that had a new born with special needs. He wanted to consult with him if to give the child away to a special school or not. My grandfather who was a Rabbi told him to keep his child close to him and to give that child all the love he needs. He said “This child is your entry pass to the Olam Aba”(the next world) We never knew about this story until my grandfather passed and that young father, who was at the time older came to the Shiva and told the story. That never left my mind.

People don't realise what it means until God forbid they need to use It!!!!!!! Keep well everyone!!!!! ❤❤❤
Just goes to show how little you need government when you have community. Kinda like most of the USA used to be, once upon a time.
Yes! We can get back to that here in the USA, it’s possible. We don’t need the government to “help” us and then cut us off whenever they decide. I know that this might seem far away from where we are now but all we need is just one kind act at a time. I believe we can all get there one by one which eventually be all of us together. 🇺🇸🤝 United.
@@TheShaysOr have govt employee salaries taking away from the recipients.
With God on your life you will want to give not take!!! Without God you need government to manage people!
No disrespect and hate but they collect welfare, section 8, food stamps you name it. They strongly depend on the government big time.
If Peter can pronounce misameach so well on his first try, he really got to know us :)
Peter won the RUclips series of the year!!!
It is not often you see such community these days, especially with how things are with covid and sharing space. The series has been very eye opening Peter.
Thanks & have a good Christmas 🎄 NY.
Thank you for showing this video sometimes we as community members forget or take for granted the kindness and love of our own community.
Such a moving, emotional video of good people helping children in need.
This is why Jews are loaded in every regard. They care about each other and support one another. Its a mitzvah for them.
My family was broke in the ghetto in Poland and my grandpa came to USA after surviving Auschwitz and ended up making millions from nothing. Its our work ethic I think. I dont think he meant anything bad but yea there are so many poor Jews too , its just that the rich ones are usually very wealthy
Just wait for when these kids learn that they can't go to sporting games, movies, or watch the best sitcoms ever made (even by jews like Seinfeld) or have to cut their hair and go bald.... its not a very good lifestyle
@@brandonlewis5135 I grew up in that world and did all those things. (Except the hair thing)
Thank you Peter for sharing the true side of my wonderful and beautiful brothers and sisters. Klal Yisroel Rocks!
Truly wonderful people, the whole series has been increadable , thank you Peter
This is so amazing thinking about all the kids that come here to feel something. It's really beautiful
Thank you Peter for highlighting so much kindness and really normalizing what seems different and unknown. You are doing great work to bring people together. I hope your sub count and influence grows!
This makes me cry with happiness and sadness. It’s beautiful to watch but also, watching these vlogs about the Jewish community makes me sad due to the fact of how divided the common American community is. I want this type of community and human connection but it seems impossible these days.
My heart goes out to all those parents! Stay strong!
Beautiful, thanks Peter. Similar organizations in Brooklyn called Mekimi (lift up) and another one is Tantzers (dancers)
Brought tears to my eyes
We have a daughter with special and this would be an amazing place for her or for her to experience. I wish deeply that we had a place like this here where we live. She gets incredibly lonely at times especially with this lockdown. She is sixteen and wants companionship so badly and it’s so hard to find that for her. Thank you for sharing this. It gives me hope
All Jewish organizations (and there are so so many) started because someone saw a need and filled the void! U can be the one to start a group. Good luck and best wishes!
Where do you live?
@@redrose1806 New Mexico.
The amount of good work and help the jewish people do for others inside and outside their communities is unreal but because its done so discreetly and without any fanfare or attention you'd never know it was happening sometimes. I could walk past a house where someone's getting help or help was available but you'd never know it was happening unless you asked
Good on you Peter!! G-d bless you for sharing the true colors of people and communities!!
I have a 2 year old cousin with brain tumor from Israel here for treatment that the support people give from all the organizations is heartwarming.
Refuah Shelaima! davening for her from Israel
Wonderful! Thanks for posting the positive side of the hasidic community
I’m loving the series on the Hasidic community. Thank you very much for doing these!
Thank you for this! I grew up in Montréal near an orthodox synagogue and I’d see them walking around just like in the videos. But I never knew how awesome they are- it’s so nice to be able to go in to their communities with you. Thank you for this!
Peter thank you for a wonderful series of a beautiful people.
Awesome video really what we need more for all to love and help each other..after following you in these videos I have learned of giving and caring the Hasidic Jewish people are..Once again thank you for sharing...
Wow, what you had done in the couple of last video say so much about this subculture. Very lovely people.

I'm in tears, this is Amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Am Israel is so Special 💕💕👏

Love this. Thank you for spreading the kindness.
What an amazing video 😢 brings tears to my eyes.. Peters and the community may Gd bless you and continue to help you spreading joy and positive awareness to the world
I pray who ever sees this be successful in life 💖❤️❤️
Peter thanks for bringing positivity to your journalism ( especially the hasidic community) today's media is all negative news if only our society could see all the good that goes on around us we would be in a better place. I love your content please give us more on the community that so little is known about.
As a Jew, I am amazed!!!
Now this is what a true community is!
Praying for you🙏
May u have a speedy recovery quick!🙏
Have a speedy and complete recovery!!!
May you have a full and speedy healing
All the best! 🍀
My heart is touched by this❤️❤️❤️
What a beautiful concept! Every city should have this!
Unfortunately there aren’t big Jewish communities everywhere...
Oh wow, Shulem Lemmer was there. I knew him from the song "Jerusalem of Gold" which is very beautiful!
What an incredible group of people. God bless them.
Thank you for this video and being a mensch Peter..keep up the great work! Regards from Vancouver Canada
I like what you do , great work open up the world .
You are amazing! Thank you for bringing this much needed positive content into my life!
Fantastic people, thanks Peter for sharing this.
This made me cry
Absolutely wonderful people. Love this series. Thank you so much for sharing.
Priceless!!
The world needs more videos like this. 👍
... the little girl with her roll of stickers. Great episode, Peter. If it's about kids, especially kids with special needs, I am fully there, and in the moment. Once again, great documentation. I'm big on Goodness for/in the World. 🙏🏿 👍🏿
Peter, you are an amazing man yourself! By exposing all of us to this beautiful culture, I feel the true meaning of Christmas. We should all be as caring and loving as the Hasidic community. Thank you for giving us all such a true gift of the seasom! 🤗🤗🤗
A beautiful kiddush Hashem!
I really feel like I wanna become Hasidic Jew, amazing
What else do have pending about this Comunity? These stuff are amazing!!!
There are 4 more that I know of covering Brooklyn and monsey.
There is so much still to see,it’s endless .He would have to stick around here a vvveerryy lonnngg time to really get into the kishkes of the Hasidic community .
He just touched ,just the tip of the iceberg.
Wow, they really do a lot for the community That is great. The singer has an amazing voice. I see why he was signed to Universal.
Peter! I really love these videos you are making! I'm sending them to all my friends! Wishing you blessings blessings and more blessings :-)
What a beautiful story!
Love this! such good people
Super video! I applauded for $2.00 👏
Keep doing this its important no one has covered this like you
