"My mind is very fast." World-class understatement. Great video, much needed for the world to see. God bless!
This series on the Hasidis has warmed my heart. I was raised Catholic and Christian, I never knew my real Father.
I was always a little different from my Catholic & Christian fellows and never had my spiritual hunger or desire for spiritual community satisied from what those experiences had to offer.
When living in Palm Springs area I came to LOVE the Jewish people. I could never understand how they could be hated, only by jealous people I guess.
4yrs ago I reunited with my Father's side of the family after 48 years estranged. They shared with me my Grandmothers genealogy and I found an ancestor by the name of Israel. My Aunt told me that her Aunt told them they were Jewish but it was something they were not proud of and somewhere along the line had converted to Catholicism to assimilate and avoid persecution. This answered alot of questions I had and was another piece of my identity that had been missing since childhood.
Now when I watch these videos I want to be a Hassid and identify deeply with their way of life and Love for others and Hashem. This is the spiritual community/identity I have longed for my entire life. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE AND WHAT THEY STAND FOR AND BELIEVE!
THEY TOUCH MY HEART OF HEARTS!
I think you have an obligation to investigate and possibly convert to Judaism

Love your series on the Hasidic New York community Peter. Shloime is also a very sympathetic and charismatic guide in all this. It is lovely to see how welcome you are in their community an how well you all get along; it really shines on us too, the viewer! It amazes me how the founders of the biggest Jewish community in the States were Hungarian Jews. It makes me proud and sad at the same time but also a bit more connected to them, as I’m Hungarian myself.
Great series Peter!
It's even more interesting that America didn't actually want them. Like the racism towards black people, it wasn't enough to keep them down. Big communities that have suffered so much, grow to be even greater than those who trod on them.
Actually the founders were Russian Jews that came here earlier because of Progroms. My family is here since 1896. Hungarians came in the droves so they obviously came as a unit and are more powerful. But we Russians/Ukrainians came here before but with less people and less money

All cultures across the globe, indiscriminately of their geographical situation, have a deluge narrative where a family crafts a ship to escape a watery destruction that is framed as divine retribution for decadence. Gee, I wonder what that could indicate. Maybe that they're all mutually relating a shared event?

Manu and Matsya: The legend first appears in Shatapatha Brahmana(700-300 BCE), and is further detailed in Matsya Purana (250-500 CE). Matsya (the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as a fish) forewarns Manu (a human) about an impending catastrophic flood and orders him to collect all the grains of the world in a boat; in some forms of the story, all living creatures are also to be preserved in the boat. When the flood destroys the world, Manu - in some versions accompanied by the seven great sages - survives by boarding the ark, which Matsya pulls to safety.

Tengys (Sea) was once lord over the earth. Nama, a good man, lived during his rule with three sons, Sozun-uul, Sar-uul, and Balyks. Ülgen commanded Nama to build an ark (kerep), but Nama's sight was failing, so he left the building to his sons. The ark was built on a mountain, and from it were hung eight 80-fathom cables with which to gauge water depth. Nama entered the ark with his family and the various animals and birds which had been driven there by the rising waters. Seven days later, the cables gave way from the earth, showing that the flood had risen 80 fathoms. Seven days later, Nama told his eldest son to open the window and look around, and the son saw only the summits of mountains. His father ordered him to look again later, and he saw only water and sky. At last the ark stopped in a group of eight mountains. On successive days, Nama released a raven, a crow, and a rook, none of which returned. On the fourth day, he sent out a dove
Hareskin (Alaska):
Kunyan ("Wise Man"), foreseeing the possibility of a flood, built a great raft, joining the logs with ropes made from roots. He told other people, but they laughed at him and said they'd climb trees in the event of a flood. Then came a great flood, with water gushing from all sides, rising higher than the trees and drowning all people but the Wise Man and his family on his raft. As he floated, he gathered pairs of all animals and birds he met with. The earth disappeared under the waters, and for a long time no one thought to look for it. Then the musk-rat dived into the water looking for the bottom, but he couldn't find it. He dived a second time and smelled the earth but didn't reach it. Next beaver dived. He reappeared unconscious but holding a little mud. The Wise Man placed the mud on the water and breathed on it, making it grow. He continued breathing on it, making it larger and larger. He put a fox on the island, but it ran around the island in just a day. Six times the fox ran around the island; by the seventh time, the land was as large as it was before the flood, and the animals disembarked, followed by Wise Man with his wife (who was also his sister) and son. They repeopled the land. But the flood waters were still too high, and to lower them, the bittern swallowed them all. Now there was too little water. Plover, pretending sympathy at the bittern's swollen stomach, passed his hand over it, but suddenly scratched it. The water flowed out

Nexquiriac sent down a great flood to punish mankind for its very wicked ways. He instructed one good man to make a large box and to preserve himself in it, along with many animals and seeds of certain plants. When the flood was almost over, Nexquiriac told the man not to come out, but to bury the box, along with himself, until the face of the earth had been burned. After that was done, the man emerged and repopulated the earth. [Horcasitas, p. 192]

A man named Waynaboozhoo survived. He turned some floating sticks and a log into a raft for the animals and himself. They floated around for a full moon waiting for the water to go down.
