I've had my 81D since the early 90's. The original compressor still works great. Re-painted and mostly restored, (just well cleaned on the inside with new insulation and door liner/decals. It's a shame so many went to the dump.
First time seeing your videos! Having grown up with these vintage machines still deployed in many places, I'm excited to see the restoration work on them! (And I see your from my late mother's neck of the woods--She was from Waynoka.)
Hi Marc, I love the videos. I’m currently restoring a V-80 and I’m wondering if you could tell me what the Actuator cover plate on the door liner does?
On the vendo 80 there should be an inner adjustment that need access to set the linkage up! I don’t have a 80 in the shop right now ! But send us a picture of what you are looking at.
It’s the small square opening above the bottle shoot opening. Behind it was insulation so not sure what the access is for. Maybe the design just got inherited from another machine that needs it. 🤷♂️
Sorry, there was another message that didn’t post for some reason. It contained a link to the door liner at Funtronics since RUclips doesn’t allow me to post pictures. Maybe it was blocked. Thanks for your help! Your videos give me inspiration to keep going.
Great video, love the old machines, I bought one two years ago and I am trying to determine the year it was manufactured, I would appreciate any info you could give, thanks
(Tom here.) Great video Marc!! Very thorough and concise, sir. You did mention that these videos are done for the weekend posts. I figured that, sir. I THOUGHT your main job is something different from the weekend posts. I'm sure you will have this 1958 COKE machine up and running, as good as new, in a few weeks time. Thank you for always explaining every step of the rebuilding processes. Take care and may GOD continue to bless you and yours. (Tom)
@@sandranelson7124 thanks Tom Each machine that is a complete restoration takes me about 12 weeks to get back up and running! Today’s 81 is in the paint stage right now ! That part takes about 5 weeks to do body work prime paint and then clear and then sand and buff! And yes I do have a main Job 42 years with Napa Auto Parts ! Love what I do in bring something old and rough back to life! Blessing your way! Marc
I have thought about doing it! I have done foam board and it work great! Have to look at the r value and see if it compares If you do let us know! Marc
If someone is going to spend all that money to restore a old Coke machine, don't be cheap. Pay the man the money to do it the right way and have everything that can be replaced like wiring and insulation replaced. In my opinion it is harder to do it afterwards and you risk having the paint damaged. I do not understand some people that wants things restored but ask to have it restored as cheap as possible. Cheap and quality work do not belong in the same sentence.
This video is great, but it would be more excellent if there was less talking and more working for us AMSR restoration addicts. I’d rather see sub tittles than talking.
Awesome video, thank you
Glad you liked it!

Send me the tag on the machine I can get you the month and year!😊
@@sodatimerestorations I can't find a tag anywhere, must have been removed at some point, any other way to identify?
Send us some pictures of your machine😊
You can either send them to us on our Facebook page or to our email at sodatimerestorations@gmail.com
Another great video! Do you think you'll be doing a 81a anytime soon? Picked up 1 today.
Sorry none on the books as of today!
Are the 81a machines not as desirable?@@sodatimerestorations
