Amazing job Marc! The video doesn’t do the finish justice. It is beautiful inside and out. The owner was so shocked when she saw it at your shop and is so grateful to you for keeping it so much as it was. It went through the tornado on Memorial Day weekend 2024. The barbershop building it was in was destroyed and she lost her home as well. This is the first task in recovering that is actually complete. One down and so much more to go, but this has been a huge emotional win for her. Thank you for your willingness to take on this project, your eagerness and commitment to finish it. And, most of all the love you gave this project for her. God bless you.

How thick is the plate. And you used the 3m product to glue down the plate?. What kind of material is the plate made from. Doesn’t look like normal sheet metal. Mine is the exactly like what you started with. I was going to use por 15 over the rust. Do you think that is a good idea and then use a plate glued down with the 3m product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Greg I did not remove housing and sandblast and powder coat. Just using it as is if that’s ok.

Just picked a 110 up cheap with this same coin mechanism. Can’t seem to get the cranked turned backwards to open it

Where can i buy a can dispenser to replace my original bottle dispenser in my machine? Id like to load it up with 12oz cans since the bottle are very limited

Awesome. My dear departed father used to repaint these models back in the late 60's, early 70's. He was a route salesman for Oberlin Bottling Company in NW Kansas, and did this for his boss for extra income.

Nice Job, this helps alot. I was planning on painting all red and using the funtronics decals on my cav 37 junior cooler. Now im torn. Are those decals easy to put on? Thats what scaring me 😂. If i go the decal route instead of what you just did should i clear over them? Thanks.

Just curious - for rust removal, have you tried a product like evapo rust vs. mechanically removing it? Love this series, I have a 6-case that I need to get going on, this has been really helpful.

Good job..! It's 67 years old and my 81D still works just as it did when it left the Vendo factory in Oct 1957. If it starts acting up with mechanical issues, it's great to have these videos to refer back to.

😊😊 HI MARC its a good 👍 😊 thing U did take that 2 the car wash 2 clean out plenty of water 💧 😊 and U done the best 👌 😊 thing washed it out until there was no more dirt or grit was in it wash until U only have clear water and this will also help it run alot more cooler than what it was 😊😊 now it can get alot more air and stay cooler also the drinks should be good 👍 😊 and cold 😊😊 W frost on the soda cans alot better than the soad machines of 2 day 😊😊 OMG 11 24 2O24

Thanks so much for this video. I have a Vendo 63, pretty much same cabinet, and apparently some mice had gotten into the cabinet area where the insulation is. It smells terrible but the rest of the machine is great. The machine has just been sitting because removing the bottle stack and the cabinet to remove and replace the dirty insulation seemed like a huge ordeal and was intimidating me. Your video showed me how "seemingly" easy it will be. By the way, what size/rating is the insulation you use? Have you ever used solid styrofoam type insulation board? Any reason why you wouldn't? Thanks again.

I have a v63 that is similar to this one and it’s in great condition, I can still see the US Steel markings on the shelf and it’s still being used in my house now. You’re right about the little bit of maintenance keeps them going

All of that patina, history, and character... gone. What a shame. Why not manufacture repro's rather than turning an old machine in to something it never was?

Just want to say thank you for putting this out and preserving these machines. My son and I are going through our 1953 v39 and while we don't need to perform a full teardown and restoration, the disassembly and overall process certainly help with spot restoration, maintenance, and keeping it in overall good working order for future generations. In the meantime, nothing beats the 'refreshment' of an ice cold Coca-Cola!
