I think what really killed his career was the documentary "I am comedian" where he went on camera bragging about joke stealing in a very weird interview. He openly talked about how he steals jokes and just adds the word Mexican to make it his. I haven't heard or seen anything from Carlos since.

Aside from how it is mildly hypocritical for someone who is against cancel culture, to try to cancel someone for stealing jokes in front of a live audience. Joe is like a person who would have loved to be a professional singer, but has to accept he's not even a good enough rapper to make music their career. The whole 'made a stand' is also dumb if you know anything about 90s era stand up. Lots of people were biting each others jokes.
