I use Tasks for all the reasons you mentioned. I tried other To Do apps but the simplicity of Tasks and the interaction with other Google apps (calendar, Gmail) is very useful. And it is free... The only problem is, when you create a task without a due date, it appears beneath all the tasks with a due date; it means at the bottom of your screen or even lower.
I'd think it is normal and a logical arrangement. Any task without a specific date for execution or deadline would mean it can be done anytime, or it can just be an idea which one may choose not to execute, hence should be at lower priority.
I decided a year or so ago to go to the iPhone and iPad (was android forever) However I still prefer and use my PC , not a Mac. Google Apps make this all seamless.
As long as I don't have a search function for tasks at the browser level, I find Google's task function weak. Or does this function exist and I didn't find it.
Any way to fix the below pain points? I much prefer Reminders, my use case is tasks that can roll daily and I finish them whenever I have time. I manage this all only through GCal. Raise date is not important, nor a specific deadline. Pain points for tasks: - Clutters my view as tasks appear on the day I add them and not one list on the current day like Reminders - Completing a task closes it on the day I raised it, not the day I completed it like Reminders - Tasks over 30 days overdue essentially disappear, and you have to hunt back for the day you raised them
I have been searching find out how I can get Tasks to view as you describe in the video. They do not show in the drop down on the right side in Google Calendar. Do I need to download an app for the computer? I'm working on a laptop. Thanks
Google have changed how it works. Now we have a Tasks Calendar and if we add a task it must have a to-do date or it won't appear on the Tasks Calendar. Back to pencil and paper for me - not much use if I just want a list of stuff that I intend to do but don't have dates for. I've found a Google Tasks app in the Google Play Store. When I opened it I found all the tasks I'd created on the list that used to be attached to my calendar, including the ones without dates. Unfortunately, this app won't work on with Windows, just Android or Apple.
Regarding reminders for Tasks, reminders work for me in the app but not on desktop in the browser even though I have all browser notifications enabled. I've seen others complain online about this same issue. Any recommendations on how to receive Tasks notifications on desktop?
I use a few Google Calendars (linked to different emails) While I can view all of the appointments by showing them on separate tabs, I only see Tasks from one calendar - can I change this?
I am also wondering myself. I did not find this option on Android, but you can do it on PC. You need to have Google Tasks added to your items. Go to main task list and you will see 6 dots on the right side when hovering the mouse over, then click and drag on the position you want it to be. Hope it helps.
Google pixel cell phone never alarm for tasks, no beep, no message, no nothing; untill remove the Tasks app, yes! remove it. then everything come back working correctly.

I like GTasks but I wish it had alphabetical sorting and let you duplicate tasks and lists. I was hoping to use it for simple shopping lists but it's too unwieldy without these features.
Hmm I don't see how those features would be too helpful for a shopping list really. You could just have a dedicated groceries list or make it a task and add the items as subtasks. If you want to easily re-add common items, you can view all completed tasks for a list and re-add a completed item with one click.
But can it make ALARMS?!?! I need a reminder app that does alarms better than these stupid alarm programs. It's been incredibly frustrating trying to find one. I've literally taken various days over the last 2 years revisiting this idea and can never find anything that works. Always fail, and don't interact with Android correctly.
@@maikaimakena9424 I don't think it's possible to do that. Besides, they have pretty different features. Keeps is best for quick notes about a topic and can use pictures, lists, drawings, links, and voice notes. Tasks is best as a todo list, because lets you restore completed tasks, add subtasks, and scheduled tasks will also appear on the calendar.
Depends what you need aye, someone with basic task needs - it is free and provides what they need. But sure, if you are looking for the power, Todoist & TickTick will do well right? :)
@@toolfinderhq I get that, but Todoist and the others can be as simple as this one. Wouldnt believe anyone telling me that switching from any given page to the Todoist web page generates friction to them.
@@basedblackpilled3810 I actually really enjoy seeing tasks with checkmarks in my calendar (scheduled) and seeing them crossed off. That can’t be done with Todoist but I see your point, and agree that Todoist can be used with a simple setup and be fully functional
I absolutely love how your video is short and sweet! Concise and on point. Thank you very much!
Thank you , this really helped 🙏
Google Tasks has definitely improved in the past year for sure!

Can one do alarm in tasks reminder?

My best advice: Keep it simple and keep the number of lists you have to a minimum.
I literally asked myself about Google Tasks today because it is the best for recording gmail while mobile. Thanks
👍🏻
excellent video as always! Is there any way to share tasks or activities with someone else? similar to Google keep

Do you recommend to use TasksBoard with this?
How can I get my task reports?

Is it possible to track edit history on this ??
Is there any way to import Google Tasks into your Apple Calender?
Why doesn't the reminders send notification or make sound ??
Same question!
Thank you for the video. Can you do a search of active or completed tasks via Google calendar or tasks? Thanks
I have discovered if you download the tasks full screen add on for chrome, you can do a search - hope this helps!

Can you reorder the task list tabs-not the item under the tasks

How can I join?
This is possible solution - especially for individuals with Android
Can you not add pictures to a task?
Can you get an alert to be reminded to do the task?
Yep you can add a time, date etc to a task and set a reminder, it also puts it in your google calendar I think :)
Is there any way to collaborate on a task?
It's cool and simple
So is Google Tasks no longer in the "Nah" category?
Aha, maybe higher aha!
The only 1 problem is, no way to input any file like the picture.

Do you think 🤔 Google tasks will allow uploading images and files. This would be amazing. ⚡️❤️
Probably not, but Google Keep supports those things

wish there was a search function........
