    That looks like an awesome texture. Really like your border also. Seems that and H or an I hook are my preferred hook size anymore.
    The total ounces seem to be what I keep in mind when planning a blanket.
    It not fun when you can not get a project finished -- because you run out of the right color yarn.

      @@AmandaCrochets hi, I have had a few problems. bottom right corner curls up. the blanket is longer on the left and right edges than in the middle of the blanket.
      I didnt know how to add the border to the bottom edge. I did it and there are big holes. Can I see photo of your bottom edge?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  2 года назад

      @@mdaddio1440 The problem could possible be that your tension is a little off. If you're a beginner or new to a stitch, sometimes your tension can be a little tight and loose in certain areas, which is why your end tends to curl up and why the blanket looks a little longer on the edges than it does in the middle. With more practice, your tension will tend to even itself out. You could always go up a hook size as well to get the correct tension. For the bottom edge, you will simply work into the chain stitches. However, you can make your stitches around the entire chain as well. It's really up to you and your preference. There will be a little bit of a gap when adding the border.

    Amanda, Your stitch instructions are very clear and your voice is very pleasing. I am trying to find stitches to crochet lap robes for eldery gentlemen.
    Would anyone think this stitch is a feminine one?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад +2

      Thank you so much for your kind words! I think if you made this stitch using masculine colors it would be just fine. You can always make a small swatch using the colors you want to see if this stitch would work out for you. Other stitches that come to mind that I think are more masculine are the waffle stitch, corner to corner, sedge stitch, and even moss stitch. I have tutorials for all of these on my channel if interested :)

    This is a beautiful and easy pattern or you make it look easy lol . I would like to make a child’s blanket using this pattern so, would I double the amount of foundation chains? Tia.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад

      Thank you! If you wanted to make this blanket bigger, you would need to chain any multiple of 3. So say you wanted to make a blanket to fit a twin bed, you would chain 176. Of course it may be a little different for everyone as everyone’s gauge is different. Good luck!

    Hi Amanda I am a real newbie. I bought #3 warn for a baby blanket for a Florida baby and wanted a slightly lighter weight wool. Do I need to make any adjustments to the making this blanket such as longer chain?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад

      Hi Sharon! You can use any weight yarn you'd like for this baby blanket. The only adjustments you will need to make would be the number of chains you start with as well as your hook size. You can use the recommended hook size on the label or you can go up a hook size for a more drappy look. Since you're using a thinner yarn, your blanket will come out a little smaller than my blanket made using worsted weight yarn. I suggest making a chain in a multiple of 3 and laying it over a bed to see if you like the width of the blanket. You can always measure it as well to get the same size as mine. Also note that your gauge might be different than mine, which is why my blankets are approximate sizes. Hope that helps!

    I’m learning that this yarn is hard to find! I had ordered some but the order was cancelled when they could not fulfill the order. Is there an alternative you would suggest that would give the same stitch definition, softness and drape?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately this yarn is seasonal. You may be able to find some in Michaels stores on clearance. I was able to snag a few colors not too long ago. You could even check Amazon, eBay, and Etsy as sometimes sellers on there will have it. As far as another yarn to use, you can use any worsted weight yarn. I would take a look at lion brand comfy cotton yarn. You can find it at Walmart.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  2 года назад +1

      Hi LeeAnne! This can happen with this stitch for a few different reasons. It could be the yarn you're using. I've noticed this myself with certain yarns, especially if you're using a thinner yarn vs. a thicker yarn. It could also be your hook size. Maybe you're crocheting a little more tightly, so you could try using one hook size bigger and see if that helps a little. :)
