@@AmandaCrochets Thank you kindly x
Thank you Amanda. barb
Any time!
That looks like an awesome texture. Really like your border also. Seems that and H or an I hook are my preferred hook size anymore.
The total ounces seem to be what I keep in mind when planning a blanket.
It not fun when you can not get a project finished -- because you run out of the right color yarn.
I usually over buy yarn just to make sure I have enough for a project. I hate when running out of it too.
Thank you for this awesome tutorial!! I made your blanket for my soon to be born nephew. It turned out gorgeous!!!! This was my first project and its got me hooked on crochet!!💙💗💙💗💙
You’re very welcome! How wonderful to hear! I’m so happy you enjoyed this blanket and are now hooked on crochet ☺️ enjoy your crochet journey, and feel free to reach out with any questions along the way 🧶
@@AmandaCrochets wow thanks Amanda!!🤗
@@emilymaldonado2649 you’re very welcome!
Thank you! I found making this swatch so easy and am going to make a baby blanket with this pattern starting tomorrow! I just ripped out a ribbed blanket I made that came out oddly shaped and I really think I will have success with making a square blanket with this pattern instead.
You're welcome! I'm glad you found this stitch easy to understand. I hope you enjoy making this blanket :)
@@AmandaCrochets hi, I have had a few problems. bottom right corner curls up. the blanket is longer on the left and right edges than in the middle of the blanket.
I didnt know how to add the border to the bottom edge. I did it and there are big holes. Can I see photo of your bottom edge?
@@mdaddio1440 The problem could possible be that your tension is a little off. If you're a beginner or new to a stitch, sometimes your tension can be a little tight and loose in certain areas, which is why your end tends to curl up and why the blanket looks a little longer on the edges than it does in the middle. With more practice, your tension will tend to even itself out. You could always go up a hook size as well to get the correct tension. For the bottom edge, you will simply work into the chain stitches. However, you can make your stitches around the entire chain as well. It's really up to you and your preference. There will be a little bit of a gap when adding the border.
@@AmandaCrochets thank you!
Thanks Amanda, I’ve just finished this beautiful blanket for my great nephew due to be born in April. The contrast of the border really makes the texture pop. I’d love it if you could make a video of a newborn beanie hat to match the same pattern. Thanks Samantha
Hi Samantha! I’m so glad you enjoyed this blanket pattern! I’ll try my best to see what I can come up with regarding a matching hat.😊
Hi Samantha! Here's the link to the matching hat: ruclips.net/video/nSdz1fum6R4/видео.html
Amanda, Your stitch instructions are very clear and your voice is very pleasing. I am trying to find stitches to crochet lap robes for eldery gentlemen.
Would anyone think this stitch is a feminine one?
Thank you so much for your kind words! I think if you made this stitch using masculine colors it would be just fine. You can always make a small swatch using the colors you want to see if this stitch would work out for you. Other stitches that come to mind that I think are more masculine are the waffle stitch, corner to corner, sedge stitch, and even moss stitch. I have tutorials for all of these on my channel if interested :)
This is a beautiful and easy pattern or you make it look easy lol . I would like to make a child’s blanket using this pattern so, would I double the amount of foundation chains? Tia.
Thank you! If you wanted to make this blanket bigger, you would need to chain any multiple of 3. So say you wanted to make a blanket to fit a twin bed, you would chain 176. Of course it may be a little different for everyone as everyone’s gauge is different. Good luck!
Great pattern and instructions. Can you tell me what hook size you used? I also like the airy look your hook made :)
Thanks! I used an I-9 (5.5mm) crochet hook.
Hi Amanda I am a real newbie. I bought #3 warn for a baby blanket for a Florida baby and wanted a slightly lighter weight wool. Do I need to make any adjustments to the making this blanket such as longer chain?
Hi Sharon! You can use any weight yarn you'd like for this baby blanket. The only adjustments you will need to make would be the number of chains you start with as well as your hook size. You can use the recommended hook size on the label or you can go up a hook size for a more drappy look. Since you're using a thinner yarn, your blanket will come out a little smaller than my blanket made using worsted weight yarn. I suggest making a chain in a multiple of 3 and laying it over a bed to see if you like the width of the blanket. You can always measure it as well to get the same size as mine. Also note that your gauge might be different than mine, which is why my blankets are approximate sizes. Hope that helps!
@@AmandaCrochets yes thank you for answering so quickly. I'll send you a pick of how it looks in yellow!
@@sharonkrinsky-mchale2594 You're welcome! Looking forward to the finished blanket :)
I’m learning that this yarn is hard to find! I had ordered some but the order was cancelled when they could not fulfill the order. Is there an alternative you would suggest that would give the same stitch definition, softness and drape?
Unfortunately this yarn is seasonal. You may be able to find some in Michaels stores on clearance. I was able to snag a few colors not too long ago. You could even check Amazon, eBay, and Etsy as sometimes sellers on there will have it. As far as another yarn to use, you can use any worsted weight yarn. I would take a look at lion brand comfy cotton yarn. You can find it at Walmart.
@@AmandaCrochets Thanks!!! I'll check out the Lion Brand!
A question Amanda….why are my sc dc dc clusters all turning into bobbles? Or rather, nubs? It is still pretty, just not what I wanted. Thanks. I love your tutorials! LeeAnne
Hi LeeAnne! This can happen with this stitch for a few different reasons. It could be the yarn you're using. I've noticed this myself with certain yarns, especially if you're using a thinner yarn vs. a thicker yarn. It could also be your hook size. Maybe you're crocheting a little more tightly, so you could try using one hook size bigger and see if that helps a little. :)
Hi Amanda
I do find cotton not so soft
What about Caron baby cakes or would that be too bulky
You could always use that yarn instead 😊
How many chains i need to make for 52 inches ?
If you want to change up the sizing of this blanket, you need to work any multiple of 3.
I love your crochet Aqua breeze I sent the money and I was notified BUT they did allow me to download the pattern. I had this happen before also and I also did not get my pattern. I won't be dealing with etsy, Barb
Thank you! I’m sorry that happened with you and Etsy. I think sometimes they delay pattern deliveries for whatever reason, which can be frustrating. If you ever decide to purchase one of my patterns in the future, and this happens again, be sure to message me on Etsy and I can send the pattern right away.
Hi , I make a mistake the one I wrote . I said that Esty did allow me to download the pattern. But that did NOT let me to download the pattern. I didn't not get my money back when they refused letting me to download the patten. Barb
Hi Barb! I sent you a message on Etsy. Please let me know if you received it. I hope that helps!
Hi I know you posted this several years ago but any suggestions or any way you could post an update with instructions on how to change colors if you wanted your blanket to have stripes instead of just a solid color? Thanks!😊
Hello! I do have a written tutorial knitting how to change colors. Hopefully it helps: www.amandacrochets.com/how-to-change-colors-in-crochet/amp/ 😊
When I made a sample of aqua breeze bby blanket approx. 50cm the end becomes wider /higher (8.5cm) then the part in the middle ( 7cm)
Do you have an idea why this? happens?
The only thing I can think of is your tension maybe? You could always use different yarn or different crochet hook to test this out. Hope that helps!
Hi what do you call this stitch please? I have already started a blanket.
This is called the blanket stitch.
