    I fell in love with this stitch and started making blanket right away. I'm using Premier Puzzle yarn which changes colors, but very softly and the stitches really show. I came across your video after making my throw, and thought I would recommend this beautiful yarn. The stitch definition and subtle color changes were amazing!!!!! Perfect combo for anyone not wanting a solid color. Your Herringbone stitch border is perfect. I will be using on my next one. Ive used a 6.5 and 7mm with this yarn and stitch.

    Hi Amanda! Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. I’ve been following this pattern the past few months and am just about finished with a baby blanket I’m gifting for the holidays! Quick question on the border, if I wanted to bring the border out further could I just do additional rows with the herringbone HDC and continue with 3 in each corner or would I have to increase the number of stitches at all? Very much appreciate this tutorial and can’t wait to weave in my ends and finish this up!

      Hi Annalisa! I'm so glad you're enjoying this pattern. I'm sure the recipient will adore your blanket! For the border, yes, you will continue doing the same thing for each additional row. As long as you have the 3 stitches in the corner you should be good to go :)

    How would I do this for a queen size????

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  4 года назад

      To make this into a queen sized blanket, you will need to make sure you have an odd number of chains. This can vary from person to person depending on gauge. I would try for 405 chains and lay it over your bed to see if that fits the size you need. Otherwise you may need to add more or less chains. Hope that helps!

    Hi, Im doing a small lap blanket in Malabrigo Rios its a 10 Ply #4 yarn but knits up in either Lt Worsted or Worsted depending on needle size. Malabrigo state Knit Gauge: 18.0 to 22.0 sts = 4 inches Needle Size: 4 - 5mm and Hook Size: 5.5-6.5 mm. Ive seen some examples using #3 Yarn and a size 6mm hook to get nice drape with the Moss stitch, (not the one you use here the other one) i.e.not too tight, but not loose either.. So with the Malabrigo Rios should I go up to a size 7mm hook?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад

      Hello! Yes you could try going up a hook size and use a 7mm hook to see if you like it. You can always practice with a small swatch first to see if you like the look of your project before committing to a bigger project. Hope that helps!

      @@AmandaCrochets Thanks the Rios has 4 plies twisted the Washted is a single ply yarn. Both are 100% merino and gentle machine washable. What differences do you get between a single ply and a multiply yarn when crocheting?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад

      The moss stitch, like many other crochet stitches, are similar in name and technique. This is a variation of the moss stitch. I’ve seen it a lot around RUclips. For example, the moss stitch can also be called the granite stitch or the suzette stitch can also be called the thicket stitch.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  3 года назад +1

      You should always start your row with a slip stitch and end your row with a half double crochet. I would double check to make sure you have an odd number of chains and that you’re alternating the stitches to achieve the desired textured look of the pattern,
