I loved this pattern. I made a blanket last year for a friend but used grey and blue for her son. It turned out so chunky and warm and she loves it. Thank you again for such a simple design with maximum effect 👍🏻
Another Amazing blanket By @amanda crochet that I just had to add to my crochet notebook. I have 7 patterns and 5 of those are from Amanda. I just love everything she makes and Her tutorials are Amazing!!! I love that this blanket has only 1 chain between rows.......I feel like you really can't mess up your edges with this technique !!!
Ooh perfect, my neighbour just had a baby girl and was thinking of making her a baby blanket but not sure what stitch to use. This one seems perfect. 💖🥰
LOVE love this blanket and stitch. Makes a beautiful baby blanket!! I did mine up in all white and this stitch is just beautiful.. Your video is so easy for us new crocheters to follow along. I want to make a large size for my own bed but am lost on how to adjust pattern for that..
I’m so glad my tutorial was easy for you to follow along! It has nice texture to it, that’s for sure! To adjust to a bigger size, all you need to do is make a chain in an even number. 😊🧶
Yes, there should be captions. If you hover over the video (or pause the video), you will see in the upper or lower right hand corner the symbol CC. If you click on that, captions should appear for this video. Hope that helps!
Amanda this is so cute. I love the yarn color. I purchased some Caron baby cakes my first time ever last weekend. That pink kept catching my eye at the store. As a beginner this is perfect!! Thank you so much for sharing. 💖
Hi Margaret, It's been 3 years but I saw your reply about the easy baby blanket on U-tube and that you make premie ones. I'm trying to do that too. Will you tell me what size are they? I want to make them right. Thanks if you can help, Patty 🧓
@@PatriciaMaund It depends on the charity. As small as 12x12 (Charli’s Love). Some now want larger - to cover the isolettes - 24x30 (Knots of Love). Project Linus minimum size is 36x36. If you have a nearby hospital with a NICU, you should ask them their requirements. Hope this helps:)
I am new to crochetand l csn only do it by using my right hand for wool and the hook, as l am a knitter, love this pattern, not sure how msny stitches l would need for a dk wool l have four balls of 100g each ball, such pretty blanket
For a DK yarn, you may need to add some extra chains if you wanted to get it to be the same size as mine. Also keep in mind that your tension/gauge might be different than mine as well. You can always make the same amount of chains that I did for my blanket and see if you like the size of it. Otherwise you can always add on more chains as mentioned in the video. Good luck!!
Hi Amanda gorgeous blanket I love the texture of the stitch,,thanks for sharing I'm not a beginner but love trying new and different stitches,,it's a great tutorial for anyone learning so well explained and clear,👍👍👍
Such a pretty baby blanket. I don't have any babies to make this for..do you think it would make a good size throw blanket? (I love throws!) Or could u suggest one that would, from your tutorials 🤔
You can make any of my blankets into a throw size or other sized blanket! All you would need to do is change up the stitch count as mentioned in the patterns to the size you need. Likewise, you will just need to make the blanket longer to fit your needs as well.
I've just started this pattern and I've finally gotten the hang of it but I have a question. When I got to row 4 I realized that it was forming a circle. My stitches aren't too tight but before I go any further I need to see what I'm doing wrong. Vicki
That is so pretty, my only problem that I have with it is that if I stop in the middle of a row I don’t know how to tell what stitch would be next when I start again.
Hello! If you’re making the same size blanket, you will probably need 6 skeins to complete. You can always grab an extra skein just in case. Hope that helps! 😊🧶
What happens when your chain amount doesnt lend itself to end with a SC ? I'm having that issue with my blanket ( petals) it is supposed to slip stitch in last stitch but it doesn't work I always end with the either the DC or the Petals n SL stitch rows. I can fudge it on the DC row but not on the actual petals row. I always end up with a SL 2nd from last stitch so it should be the petal next or do I do 2 SL in a row? My stitch amount across is 120 , I check my count (now which i didnt do on my first try) after each row. Amanda has been helping me along the way when i have questions .......mostly trying to make my edges straight.
For the Tickled Pink Blanket, you should have a chain in any even number. If you're not ending your rows in a SC, it's possible you didn't alternate between DC and SC across your row. Maybe you made two DC in a row instead, thus throwing off which stitch you need to make next. Remember you want to have SC, DC, SC, DC, SC across your row. For the Petals Blanket, you need a chain in a multiple of 2. Once you have this, you will add 3 chains to the very end of your blanket. It looks like your chain is off for your Petals blanket. You have a chain of 120. If you subtract 3 chains from 120, you end up with 117, which is not a multiple of 2. In order for the blanket to work, you need to have a chain of either 121 (118+3) or 123 (120+3). Hope that helps!
How I change yarn to make it bigger is I make my last stitch, but don’t completely finish it. I introduce the new yarn by laying it over my crochet hook (leave enough for a tail to weave in later). Then I’ll yarn over and complete the stitch with the new color/skein. I hope that makes sense!
Hi Amanda! I am actually making a baby blanket with this exact same pattern! I chose a Bulky 5 variegated yarn. At first I wasn’t going to do a border, but I think I’ve changed my mind. Would you still recommend just 1 round of single crochet border or 2 rounds of SC since I’m using a thicker yarn and hook? Thanks!
Wow, great minds think alike! For your border, I would see how one round of single crochets looks first. You can always add another round if you like. :)
Do you mean make smaller squares and sew them together? I suppose if you wanted to you could. You would just follow along on a much smaller scale to complete your project 🧶
You can use a variegated color for this blanket. One of my subscribers sent me a photo of this blanket she was making in a variegated yarn (pinks, grays, and white) and it turned out great!

It’s possible you’re missing stitches or adding too many stitches. Hope that helps!
Beautiful 😍 stitch and tutorial 💙, XOXO from Kaikohe, NZ
Thank you!
Just LUFFF LUFFF this stitch - was wondering if it has a"name" ?
I believe this was the crumbled griddle stitch 😂
That is so pretty, my only problem that I have with it is that if I stop in the middle of a row I don’t know how to tell what stitch would be next when I start again.
Thanks! It can be difficult when stopping in the middle of the row. Maybe write down what stitch you did last to help keep track. Good luck!

Do you think I could do this in two colour stripes? I’m making baby stuff in grey and white.
Of course! It would look beautiful in those two colors!

I have not seen the stitch before. It looks really interesting and I’m going to try it out on the sample. What is the name of the stitch itself?
This is called the Crumpled Griddle stitch 😊🧶
@@AmandaCrochets thanks. I needed to add it to my list

This is called the lemon peel stitch

Can you do more than one row of border?
You can make the border however many rounds you'd like! :)

You can use a variegated color for this blanket. One of my subscribers sent me a photo of this blanket she was making in a variegated yarn (pinks, grays, and white) and it turned out great!
how much yarn do you need in ounces or grams
You’ll need about 480 grams for this blanket
My puffs are coming up on both sides ? I thought it was only supposed to be one side ? Oh and to make it worse I’m a left handed crocheter
The puff stitches might pop back and forth on your blanket. That’s totally normal!
How many rows please
I’m sorry I didn’t count how many rows I did. I simply crocheted until my blanket was a square before making a border.
