I appreciate the unboxing of both since I never saw the packaging of an Omega. Now I see where a lot of the money goes! I own a 1st gen (circa 2016) of the Bulova and really like it but I have since seen the 3rd gen that has the polished case and think it looks better despite having the same dimensions as Gen 1. I also think the Gen 1's bead-blasted case looks as good as the polished Omega while the polished (Gen 3) Bulova looks better than the Omega when either are on brown leather strap. I think for under $500 to have something with a pedigree and looks better than the Speedy, that's more than you can ask for! Thanks for the great video!
What leather strap do you have it on? It does not look like a tapered 20mm which can be hard to find!
Actually the latest gen of the Bulova is perfect. It is smaller than the first gen. I have both.
Of course the Speedmaster is a beautiful, iconic piece. But the Lunar Pilot doesn't get the respect it deserves.
The speed master never did anything for me but the style of that bulova is my jam and I just don’t want autos anymore

A friend of mine bought the speedmaster moon watch, exactly 3 years to the day he purchased it, it stopped working!!!! Took it in to the shop he bought it from they sent it to omega, they wanted £495 to service it!!!! 3 years old and it needs £495 spending on it????? What a waste of money, I on the other hand bought the Bulova, 2 years and it’s run flawlessly and at a 10th of the cost of the omega, no brainier don’t you think????
YMMV. I’ve had the Speedy for 6+ years. 0 issues. The Bulova less and it needed a battery change, but it cost a few bucks. Sounds like your friend just had bad luck.
@@AffordableWristTime well actually as the speedy was being “serviced” the guy at the shop talked him into buying a planet ocean, 3 months later that was loosing time like nothing a 5 month trip to omega where they ended up replacing the movement and was sent back to him, that lasted 4 years until the chrono finger got stuck at 20 past the hour, another so called service!!!! The way I got to know him was I have a replica planet ocean, he saw me wearing it and asked about it, he couldn’t believe how good it was!!! 5 years now and it hasn’t missed a beat, we keep in touch and he still has both omegas but ended up keeping them in a box and buying a replica Panerai which he wears daily.....something to be said about the quality of omega don’t you think? Even omega say that they should be serviced every 4 years....I have watches 40 years old that have never been touched and they still work!!
Both beautiful watches...I’ve owned both...sold the Omega and just have the Bulova now ...it keeps better time and has a similar historical provenance. May order a brown strap now that I’ve seen it on the watch and looks great. Cheers M.
I am totally allergic to the black/brown combo, it's dead, and makes no sense to me. Get the steel bracelet. I would not put a brown strap on my speedy either.
@@christianraquin4401 Now I have to agree with you , tried the brown and went back to the original black NASA style Velcro strap, much better look and more comfortable on the wrist. Recently changed the brown leather on my HELM diver , back to its SS bracelet as well. Cheers M.

Nicely done comparison but I wish you had left the Lunar Pilot on its original strap for this video as you did with the Speedmaster. That brown strap sort of clashes with the dial.

That bulova leather strap is not original it should be the woven black strap.
Yeah this is on my own strap. It comes with a tropic strap originally.
