while I do love chaos. This is one of those games I wish Katelyn is in control because she thinks things out while evan is more impulsive. Love them both bot Evan just....doesn't wait to talk things out half the time
2:18 Evan skipping "Squirrels sac for 3 blood" XD What a bonehead play! Kaitlin told him to slow down and explain what he wants to do before doing it, but he didn't listen, and this was the cost. Tragic

I'm only 10 minutes in and already I'm incredibly frustrated that Evan is so utterly clueless that he's confusing everyone else when he is supposed to be the expert on deck builders. This definitely seems like a game where it pays to take your time and carefully read the instructions. The two of them are still wonderfully entertaining at least :)

Yeah, evolving wolves vs. three sack squirrels made me facepalm, especially when later they were having trouble affording cards.

Part of the reason I love the uncut stuff (but occasionally confuse my cats because I'll comment a lot at the TV) is because of the constant back and forth of Evan being the quintessential impulsive engineer and Katelyn trying to redirect him and not laugh to hard.
The amount of times he's clicked a button on accident/halfway through reading something or read something and then immediately done the exact opposite of what he read out loud is amazing
Evan: "Let's do the bullfrog, because I won't mind if he just... dies..."
Bullfrog: "Guys, I'm right here, you know!?"

I very rarely buy games that I watch people play but this one seemed so interesting and the mechanics of the game provide a unique experience no matter if you watched it be played or not. So I just bought it. Really loved this stream.
It is so frustrating to watch them not think through any choice. They both tend to click on the first thing that catches their eye.
They also can't seem to remember what the powers are, like the 'ant' or the 'leader'.
Evan does frustrate me at games like this, but i almost lost it when he blatantly missed the chance for 3 blooded squirrels at 2:19:22
That would've been the best totem of the entire game. It is frustrating being snuffed out that way
I feel like Katelyn should be in control of the mouse more often; she would probably make fewer misplays. This is a cool looking game, but impulsiveness doesn't seem to be a good strategy for it.
I always prefer watching her play for that reason lol. I like when she explores and is thorough and doesn't make me dizzy LOL
Yea watching Evan just click through super fast without fully reading or understanding was driving me straight insane. Evidence Katelyn has way more patience than me as a wife. Lmao
TBF, they were about to pass up getting the Oroboros extremely early, if he hadn't miss clicked it, he would have missed out on the most powerful card in the entire game.
If we're being fair, we should acknowledge that neither of them wanted Oroboros and they didn't really use it in their fight against Leahy. Also, Oroboros doesn't really get all that good until the end of act 2 when and if you figure out how to use it as part of an infinite loop combo. And you still would have to find it in act 3. Plus, you need not acquire it in act 1 in order to get in in acts 2 or 3.
You can infinite combo Ouroboros in act 1, just use an undying black goat.
Sometimes it’s frustrating to watch Evan play this game .... love him, but he would do so much better if he slowed down to think. There are so many small things that he misses! Ah! Haha!
I usually love watching you guys, but this was really frustrating. Watching Evan racing ahead without thinking first meant that I was constantly yelling "WAIT" over and over, especially when you kept rushing back into the card game without looking around the room. It would have been easier to follow if Katelyn had the controls.
Haven’t watched till the end yet, but this was a difficult game for me to catch on in the first hour or so. In addition Evan got into his „zone“ and often just wanted to play. I can understand, but it left me and also Katelyn a bit frustrated not understanding his moves and the why.

Exactly. Evan plays like this is every game but this game is not suited for that. Katelyn says Evan understands it more but I really think that she does.
At 2 hours 20 minutes ive never been so sad. He chose the wolf head instead of making squirrels give 3 blood on sacrifice :(

I've never been so frustrated with Evan before. It seemed like Katelyn took a long time to follow along but of course because he's clicking around like crazy. The game was very cool though.

They could have won at the end of he had drawn a squirrel...sacrifice 2 squirrels for the double attack Wolf and place it to the right of the stunted wolf
They both attack the empty space and deal 6 damage...the scale was even so it would have been an instakill

y'all are being kinda harsh on Evan lol. He was the one excited to play the deck building part in the first place... i'm sure Katelyn's method would be great and methodical but like, it's a game that you're meant to die in over and over anyway 🙄 let him be and if you want it perfect buy the game (which i fully recommend btw, it's fantastic and story rich) if i was the one getting all these comments on my gameplay when i was just having fun, i wouldn't be quick to want to play it again
This is a super late reply lol. But watching the uncut now, I think most of the complaints are coming from the fact that Evan's playing style makes it difficult to actually follow what's happening. It isn't about being perfect at the game or not dying, it's that he makes decisions so quickly and with so little explanation (and _sometimes_ without much clear logic) that it doesn't make it the most fun to watch at points. That playing style is completely fine with other games or even when someone is playing on their own, because they're not playing with a partner or streaming it to an audience, and what they're doing doesn't have to be coherent to anyone else. But they do both stream games and play them together for an audience, so it's actually really important that Katelyn and the chat know what's going on and why things are happening. Otherwise people can feel frustrated or left out or confused, which is exactly what happened.
Part of streaming a game is making sure you _and_ your audience get to experience it, and many times during this Evan wasn't really playing like he was streaming, he was playing like he was alone and trying to figure out a game his way. Which to reiterate isn't bad or wrong, just not the ideal style for a game you are specifically streaming and not just individually playing.
Yeah I agree with the reply here. People aren’t being harsh, they were giving constructive criticism. Everyone was pretty nice about what they thought, but It was really difficult for me to watch the stream because it just felt like Evan was playing, and I would’ve liked to see Katelyn have some input just cause she *does* have a bit more of a methodical process, but I felt like maybe she didn’t feel confident enough to play all the much because he was going so fast that she didn’t understand what was going on with the cards. I haven’t seen the next stream yet, but I’m sure it probably got better as they both learned some more about the strategies.
I am loving how many games you’re playing before Halloween. It’s the best time for games and I love horror games so much 🥰

When the fisherman uses his hook he picks a card and its your turn, always always always play a squirrel next. Just leave it. He will always steal the next card you play. So when you play the squirrel and leave it, he steals the squirrel. When you played the squirrel another card was in that row so he could not take it. The rows on his side must also be empty to pull the card
At 52:00 the last puzzle, the 1 with the star around it is like the porcupine. The lizard moves over and replaces where it was with its tail, if the card that attacks both left and right attacks the lizard, the lizard moves over and blocks the card in the 4th column. If you make the card that attacks left and right attack the porcupine, then the porcupine kills that card and prevents it from attacking the lizard which in turn makes the lizard not move over, it's hard to explain in text but you just have to account for all the cards' sigils, damage, and health.
I enjoyed watching this, but as someone who played this there were times where I was going “nooooo why would you do thaaaaaat?!”

I would have applied the ants one to the squirrels. Draw a squirrel each turn, play an ant and you soon have 4 X 4/4 ants.
You can't upgrade the squirrels...directly anyway.

Man, do i feel for PO3, the number of times i've thought "Total missplay" was astounding.
But i love this gameplay as having some interactions between the commentators/players/actors is great.
I've only ever done one escape room, and we failed it because the final step was to turn a key which lit up some coloured lights in a table that would give us the code for the door, but that table was also the only flat surface and a lot of the clues were on sheets of paper, so we had them all spread out on the table and they were hiding the lights XD We were going nuts trying to figure out what that key did, and when the time ran out the operator walked to the table, shoved all the paper aside and pointed at the lights, and all of us went 'oh, come on!'
this really makes me want to get the game for myself because i got a bit impatient when e&k were hesitant (though i understand that comes with learning a new game, i just grasped the concept super easily)
but seeing the choices they made compared to what i woulda done is interesting!
I can't believe it's already been two years since E&K played Inscryption. I started playing this game because of them and have been obsessed with it ever since! Now I'm rewatching the uncuts while I start over and play along.
You can beat the "grizzly encounter" - I did. To my knowledge there's no forced losses, the candle thing just happens whenever you lose your first game - I made it all the way to the second boss before losing a game. It just takes a bunch of planning and strategy (Not to mention luck, the cards you're given along the way are randomized)

FYI the pelts make great fodder when you don't have any squirrels or blood. They cost nothing to put down. The bifurcated and trifurcated mantis are the best cards. If opponent has nothing on the board you attack opponent twice and 3 times respectively. Merge it with a wolf and you can do 6 or 9 damage. Porcupine is cool because after opponent attack it the porcupine shoots its quills for damage even if it die

I absolutely loved this! I don't usually watch streams all the way through in one go and I'm usually doing something while I have them on. I couldn't stop watching this one. Only took breaks for food. Top notch stream! :)

Rewatching this cause it's spooky season and I felt like having something in the background and it's actually hilarious how much they're focused on the changes of the stoat so much they never notice that the stink bug is changing too. Such a great game, all chaos, loved it.

I had no idea what was going on, and this is one of those games where it’s cool if you’re following and boring and frustrating if you’re not lol. I wish Evan would have taken more time to actually read the rules and stopped rushing through everything without any kind of explanations.
i learn something in that , at first she was totally clueless and kinda intimidated by the card stuff , took some time, but them she got it and was SUPER into it , therefore patience = the best reward ever =gamer waifu

I'm getting a little frustrated with them not doing the math... They had a total of 6 unopposed attack points and needed less than 5 to win, but didn't just go ahead (they did end up doing that but only after chat told them)

I usually love the uncut streams but i found myself getting so frustrated by Evan not giving Katelyn a chance to play or have any input. I get that he’s excited but I don’t think he was very sharing or kind to his wife during this.

this video was great and honestly you couldn't of known if you weren't already familiar with some of the stuff but seeing you go through the tutorial perfectly then spontaneously forget how the lanes work on a two sided board hurt my soul. again not a complaint i just needed to put that out there.
