Nicely done mate. I dislike machining chromed bar, from the noise to the chips. Nowadays there are better tools but back in the day it was a tedious process. The tooling looks great so far despite the self destructing end mill 😂 we've all had them. I wish RUclips would sort out their notification alerts, just looking and found this post but no alert. Hope you and family are all well, take care and see you next time 👍
Had to skip out of work for a long lunch so I could watch this! Top work - bloody good result. Bummer about the end mill but that’s all in a days work in the shop. Well, in mine it is. 😁 Great results, going to enjoy this project I can already tell. Nice job on the HSS threading tools - being able to make your own custom cutting tools is a wonderful thing. 👍👍
Now that's a real machinist, never throw anything in the bin, you might need it someday. Remembering where you left it is the hardest bit. Nice job as usual, even with the evading endmill 😉😂
Oh, Matty! You musn't use bad words, even after you've screwed up. Just give a deep sigh. Remember what Mum said, mate. Thanks for posting, man. Appreciated. [edit] And just so you know, I really like your closing pics of NSW. They're beauty, mate
I have made a few things that I could have just gone out and bought. Sometimes it is quicker to make them than to drive across town and back in the stupid Auckland traffic. Good work Matty.
Happy to see you starting a new project Matty. Always more fun making parts yourself than buying them. Hope you’re keeping well mate. Looking forward to part 2. Cheers Nobby
Good to see you back, Matty. I'm sure I speak for most of your followers when I say we've missed your cheerful cussing. This looks like a useful addition to the lathe tooling. Waiting for vol 2. Regards from Canada's banana belt. 🤞🇨🇦🍌🥋🇺🇦🕊🇦🇺🐨🪃👍
G'Day Matty, nice to see you back. Just a word of warning for that electronic edge finder, if you try to use it on anodised aluminium the anodising acts as an insulator and it wont work and if you forget and think you're not touching the part yet you can snap off the end of the edge finder by going that little bit extra. Forewarned is forearmed 👍
Well done. I find making something no matter how it turns out is a whole lot more satisfying than buying the same thing. If I save money, all to the good, if I don't it's still much more satisfying to make. I enjoy your vids and I'll watch whenever you feel like posting. Thanks for sharing
Look on the bright side, he stub of that deceased endmill will be useful for making custom cutters! I've NEVER snapped a 4mm mill. Lots of other sizes, but never a 4. Destroyed a 3/4 inch 4 flute once by enabling the Bridgeport feed the wrong way. That made a mighty bang.
Nice finishes on those parts, Matty. I've been real happy with my Hafco edge finder. Just make sure you don't have it in the spindle and start it up at 2500 rpm. You'll soon find out what centrifugal force is all about. A friend told me this happened to him 😅 Regards, Preso
Nice one Matty, those edge finders look the business. I'm not sure how a pipe centre works to be honest so I think I need to watch the video over with sound rather than trying to read subtitles and watch what youre doing, then I should get a proper idea of what it does, some great processes and filming too Thanks for sharing
G'day Matty. Great project you have started. Everything worked like clockwork, and the nut, slid over the threads perfectly. Yep those pesky little end mills get in the road of the vice. 😅 I can show you a new 10mm got in the road, ended up in 3 pieces 😊 Ted
Well g'day Matty and great seeing you back in front of the camera my mate, hope you're keeping well, and the dust is settling down, just starting my day with this, a fresh coffee and I'll certainly be inspired to get at in my shop, lots of love to you and yours Ralfy
G'day Matty, how are you? The pipe centre is coming along nicely mate. I'm looking forward to part two, coz I'm gonna copy it if you don't mind? Cheers from poor old England! ( we will be a damned sight poorer with this bloody new government lol) Sam
Hay Matty nice build there making your own Nuts strangely satisfying i did manage to finish that sentence for you and i think word for word have done similar myself anyway looking forward to the next part of the build cheers from up north
Ya got me on the thumbnail, Matty! A quick glance and I thought it said "MT8 pipe centre" not "MT3"! I wanted to see what kind of lathe you were using that had an MT8 tailstock!
Gday Matty good to see ya back. Yeah I've done that too more than one end mills, it doesn't get any less annoying but at least the language gets worse and it makes you feel a little bit more stupid each time. Catch ya on the next one.

That's a pretty looking river!
At least it was only an endmill and not a 15 hr part as well!!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦

Gday, the rest of the endmill got turfed in the bin outa frustration🤣, I can imagine what the 3/4 cutter sounded like, thanks for watching
Hi Matty. Great to see you back. Iv'e been slacking lately. Must get busy. Great video & looks very accurate as usual. All the best
Steve.
My idea too. Yoy can buy whatever you want, but make yourself is way more fun.
Nice Job! Beutiful morse taper turning. Spectacular endmill fail, adds drama! I do that allot with carbide milling cutters, now I only buy HSS.
Gday Nigel, I couldn’t believe I did that to the endmill, doesn’t happen often thankfully, appreciate you watching mate, cheers
Glad you are getting in some shop time in between banging gears.
Gday Tom, good bit of variety now mate, appreciate you watching and commenting, cheers

Gday Preso, the edge finder works great and always repeats, centrifugal forces can be a problem by the sounds of it mate, thanks for watching, cheers
It was a nice surprise to see your video on a Tuesday morning rather than on the usual Thursday.
Good to see you Matty,
Nice little project
Cheers….

@21:08 …… whoops…… we’ve all been there 😢
Oh, yes, the end mill twang. Might’ve done that a time or three…🤨
21:11, Oh Well, not to worry just a slip up.
Frustrating slip up mate🤣
Booong goes the end mill bit and the PG rating changed on the video ( it’s ok I filled in the blank for the full effect)
