Short impactful piece. For me this is all about tone. Rich vocal is laid over complementingly tuneful drum patterns - I like to hear a "tune" in drums - as here. Your immaculate guitar smoothly takes up the lead and into rapid-fire, but still clear as a bell variations. No faltering here. Again superb tone in the recording. Well done, James. Ear candy. 🍬Jen. ❤

Brilliant Song, the playing, the structure the sound ..! But ..imo... maybe repeat the part from 0:35 at the end as an outro. 😁 ...maybe... but I love it like that!

I like that syncopation; you need to start focusing again. We can get used to many things, but to overcome is a rarity. Be that uniqueness that you seek!

      When did I stop focusing?

@@JamesBellx ah, hey Jim, didn’t catch this comment - I just think some of your earlier stuff, more raw, sounded better. Although, your work is now highly technical (like myself, as I age, I incorporate the whole multimodal/relative M/m, five-position neck running…everything). It’s like listening to Motley Crüe…their first two albums were just raw and sick. Sure, they still had some hits later, but those first two…ya feel me? Also, ‘focusing’ = letting those creative influences back in that may not be so big anymore, just creating more headspace, it’s energy, all good all good. Anyway…back to analytical chemistry 🤢🤮

@@pugilemoltobene3708 any examples of better stuff ive done so I can bear it in mind for my next releases?
Also this song is from 2015 . Was supposed to be pop originally . Could possibly be why you dont like it .
I worry that if youre not technical these days people just skip past so its difficult

@@JamesBellx it’s often difficult for us to ‘get away’ from our own stylings because we have tendencies, which are often profound; often times I stop myself from like double-stopping/diad-/triad-bending and sliding and throwing down ‘blues boxes’ in the middle of my riffs and solos bc it’s my natural inclination… Sometime I just play a few tunes in a different key/change tempo… just to get different sound progression, put myself into a different headspace - sometime it works, sometime it’s a series of those ‘happy accidents’, but interesting, if not productive. Your playing is excellent, Jim; and that coming from someone who has played the instrument for 35+yrs(and I’m not just some strummer lol). Oh, the comment was based on some of the earlier stuff you had on your channel from like 15yrs (maybe older?) ago or something (like many of our firsts and sophomoric efforts, there’s just more raw energy in the early stuff). Take it as a compliment, brother. Later👍
