They’re not investments. You wear them and enjoy them. In a few years you get back what you paid or more if you’re lucky. Let’s be honest, have these watches really lost 10% since January or were January’s prices ridiculously inflated?
I think the loss on some Rolex models are much more bearable than other assets, like cars , jewelry , and even sometimes real estate. The thing is, it is usually very rare to buy to use and enjoy for a long time and then sell with minimum loss if not a slight gain.
Depends on what you paid, like BTC or anything else. Very few luxury items retain much value. Rolex is generally an exception. That being said, you should chase the hype models and you sure as hell don’t want to pay gold watch prices for SS watches.

Geniune Box and booklets can be purchased. It is the warranty card that is not replaceable. However, some would service the watch at RSC, and the service card would help authenticate the watch and provide ssurance and some sort of documentation, especially for older / discontinued references.

The balance is subtle but amazing and side -by-side with 'The Ghost', the aptly named 'Baby Le Mans' definitely has the edge! A future classic without question but very few for sale which is interesting.
I have a Blue Dial Sky Dweller on Jubilee and a Pepsi on Jubilee. I love both watches but I think I want a precious metal and not white gold since all my watches are stainless steel. I think I want a rose gold Daytona on oyster flex, but I am not sure if I should go full precious metal on the bracelet or stick with oyster flex since I found out they’re not interchangeable.

Just picked up a 2021 Explorer 1 in Tokyo for around $7.3 USD. I think an ok deal. I think Rolex needs to pick a size in that model. 3-4 different models / sizes in 8 years...

Ah so the Kermit is the discontinued pre-ceramic bezel model. The latest reiterations would be the Starbucks, and more recently the MK2 Starbucks with the newer shade of bezel 👍

Love the black and gold sub but it’s always overshadowed by the authors love and favouritism for the bluesy. I can’t understand anyone who would by a watch to sell immediately for less than they paid, to grey market traders either. Well, not for a sub and above anyway. (The people just building up spends must be rare compared to the actual watch lovers like myself, but they flippers get all the attention and I feel like it’s to the benefit of the traders ). Buy a watch to keep. Anyone selling a brand new sub under list needs their head checking. If you don’t need the money as your building your spends, then sell it to an enthusiast who will pay list, and not a dealer maybe. Then everyone’s happy.

Love the black and gold sub but it’s always overshadowed by the authors love and favouritism for the bluesy. I can’t understand anyone who would by a watch to sell immediately for less than they paid, to grey market traders either. Well, not for a sub and above anyway. (The people just building up spends must be rare compared to the actual watch lovers like myself, but they flippers get all the attention and I feel like it’s to the benefit of the traders ). Buy a watch to keep. Anyone selling a brand new sub under list needs their head checking. If you don’t need the money as your building your spends, then sell it to an enthusiast who will pay list, and not a dealer maybe. Then everyone’s happy.
