How ridiculous that a welfare worker asks you in front of the predator if you feel OK living in the same house.
The power dynamics are so warped that the child has zero power yet has to make a decision that could mean the predator hurts you even more when the doors are closed.
Without a doubt the step father's own daughter was molested & drugged. That's why she ended up overdosed
I'm not defending anyone but I've heard stories where the welfare workers had so many children to visit, the ratio is overwhelming. So they have to prioritize. I can imagine the interview not being thorough because the welfare worker didn't pay attention to the details. The system is set up to fail everyone.

Sadly, for the child so in need of the opportunity to develop trust by being shown care and protection from an adult who's seen their suffering. To be denied this again is retraumatizing to their sense of self, unconsciously reinforcing their identity as shameful and worthless of their basic human needs for safety and security. Had they had no one show up instead, further damage could have been avoided. I really feel for these workers too, finding themselves within the same system as the abusers they seek to disarm.

Thanks for sharing your story. It's wild how little the freeze response is talked about. This is how I responded to trauma as a child of 8 and its so maddening to me that at 42 I'm still just as scared as that 8 year old girl.
That is the worst part of all...I am 49 and I will say it never goes away, the fear is life long and it took me years and years to not feel fear and terror when I was intimate with my husband of 30 years. My only sibling was also abused and unfortunately she could not live with the trauma and committed suicide at 20 and she was married with two small children. Her demons were strong, and she couldn't see anyway else to escape the pain and mental illness that was a direct response to her terrible abuse. It's been 30 years and a day never goes by without me feeling that deep stabbing pain in my heart for my sweet Melissa. Rest in peace my tiny dancer and I know you are my guardian angel and have kept me alive. Sometimes the pain is just too much, and we lose loved ones who die as a direct result of years of abuse. By the way, my sister and I both told our Mother of the abuse and NOTHING was done. To this day 30 year later she is still married to that man. My mother can be a very cruel and selfish. My sister was my mother's favorite, and when my sister passed my mom just looked at me and said "Why couldn't it have been you?

Enrages me! Asking a person if they're OK in front of ANYONE should not only be common sense not to do, every police officer should be trained on day 1 to separate people. Makes me so mad. I had a bf who liked to put his hands on me when I was a kid. 1st bf at 16, thought I was in love blah blah. Stayed with him til I was about 21. One night at a party when I was about 19 he was in a mood. He punched me dead in my face like I was a man out of nowhere. Nose busted, blood everywhere. I'll never forget I had a white shirt on + I was covered in my own blood. Walking home, my parents home btw, with him because I just wanted him to be calm, we were stopped by 2 police officers. One of those officers shined his flashlight in my face. Can only imagine what I looked liked standing there with 2 swollen eyes + dried blood soaking my face + shirt. Right in front of my ex, he says with the flashlight in my face "did he do this?" I think about that moment still, 25 yrs later. If he had asked me on my own, maybe I would have said yes. Yes, this animal did this to me.
That's what I was thinking that was a major failure of the social worker to ask her in front of her abuser if she felt safe obviously she is not going to give an honest answer
That’s equivalent for a police officer to ask a person if they want to be an informant, all they have to do is tell on everyone and they will be safe, while the cartel is parked outside the family house and is right behind them listening to the whole conversation. That is incompetence at another level.

This is so important! Victims need to understand that certain choices they made were actually outside of their control. We need to learn to forgive ourselves for what we did as a result of what was done to us.

I'm proud of you. Your a survivor. I was molested by my stepfather. He was very good 2 me and so I felt guilty so I never told on him. I did tell my Mother as an adult and he denyed it and My Mother sided with him. They have both passed and I'm still hurting and I'm angry! I am married to an amazing man! He gives me the most unconditional love. I am doing well considering my anger and hurt. God has blessed me with a good man and a good life he has given me. You keep strong and be happy ❤ Listening to you has helped me. I'm not alone.

Thank you so very much for making people realize: hey, is not just about you thinkg "omg I'm so glad it didn't happen to me" but also thinking "How do I as an adult prevent this not only at my own home but also around me?". Im still suffering from being sexually abused at 6 years old, by two biological sisters on separate occasions, and before that, by a neighbor when I was four years old. Im 62 today.

Stepfathers. If you leave your child’s biological father, and bring a strange man into the home, YOU are responsible for whatever abuse occurs.

This story was Unimaginable and despicable...
NO Adult...No Matter What their Profession...
NO matter what title they hold...
NO Matter What economic Status,...
NO Matter What their Culture...
NO Matter what race, Creed, or Color...
NO ADULT wheather, they are a Adult Caretaker of children, teacher, parents, aunts, uncles, or anyone else, should have any sexual attraction to children, this is very disturbing to me, Very Strange, Odd, Demented, Sick, Weird, and Outrageous to me.
*THERE IS NOTHING about a child, male, or female is attractive sexually, Nothing
*Children are children as should be treated as such.
*They are NOT mature
*They have NO COMPREHENSION of Sex.
They have NO COMPREHENSION of Romance
*Sex and intimacy is in nature biologically is designed for Adults,
NOT CHILDREN.
I Cannot Comprehend any Adult thinking of a child a such a inappropriate manner.
*This is a previous response I wrote to an article on Child Marriage;
I don't understand why anyone would attempt to marry a child, this is unthinkable, children are not capable of Romantic Relationships, they cannot process adult Relationship lifestyles.
*They are children and function as children, they are being placed, and forced in adult Relationship situations, and they cannot process nor understand it until they are Adults.
*Nothing about a child is capable of handling a Romantic Relationships, Physical Relationships, Mentality handling Adult Relationships, and Lifestyles and financial matters.
*A Child cannot understand the Deeper Matters of the Hearts, or
Deep involved Love connections etc.
*So, it baffles me to think any man would be interested in a relationship with a child.
*Why not choose an Adult Woman who is matured in Mind, Body, and Spirit, intelligence...?
*I could NEVER be attracted to s child.

*Children need to be focused on getting their early childhood education, and growing up around other children and playing with other children.

I am grateful to say that I am a born again Christian and have been since I was 19.......the reason I believe we have mean parents bad teachers and some of the meanest ppl who do some of the cruelest things such as abuse sometimes molest prey on children or anyone for any evil purpose!!!!!! we know that Satan is the ultimate abuser, molestor, and predator as the Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 He goes around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour!!!!!! And it even breaks my heart that children are having to be taken to safe places! folks if you don’t know Christ as your savior then it burdens my soul to think that you are headed for a terrible place called Hell where the Bible says the fire is never quenched and the worm dies not! Folks you are not promised tomorrow! If you want to know how to be saved from this horrible reality then please by all means don’t hesitate to comment right back so I can lead you to the savior! 2 Corinthians 6:2 clearly states “now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation!” And Hebrews 3:aw15 clearly states, “Today if you hear his voice don’t harden your hearts! it is not me but the Holy Spirit that I pray reveals to you the truth of his precious gospel......John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life! V 17 says then V 18 says whoever believes on the son is not condemned but whoever does not believe on the son is condemned already because he has not believed on the son whom God has sent! Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!

What exactly did she write to her mom. She was twelve but did not understand sexual contact at all. Female mature faster then males. But she has no clue. it sounded like just a massage The mom allowed her minor daughter go to foster care.

You need to take a certain degree of responsibility even at 12 you could have gotten pregnant. I was 10 and a man tried something w/ me a sleepy girl in my bed I din't tolerate it and he left. I was a very shy and quiet child, still had my dolls in my room, You weren't 5 you knew what sex is. Of course it wasn't love, he liked you as a child but never saw you as a daughter. The drugs? you could have told him no, to knock it off. Counselors will never tell you that you willingly participated by being docile.
Maybe there is a strength in me that other girls did not have, but I was no tom boy, I was into dancing lessons my mom was a narcissist.

What are some of the things your adopted dad did or said to you to allow you to open up and get down to the root of your problems?
I've often thought about helping troubled teens but it's very difficult. They push you away. You foster mother was an angel. God bless her.
There are lots of ways to do so. I work as a “transport agent”, basically I show up at 4am and take kids to boarding school or wherever their parents send them. It’s usually a multi state transfer and in that time I go from the bad guy to hugging these crying girls when I drop them off. I build a relationship and get a chance to tell them they ARENT bad, their parents just don’t understand and they have a chance to help others with their stories. It’s soo amazing to be able to do just that .
