@@corgthemighty Well we in the Warframe community kinda don't.. He's the everytenno's Excalibur Prime, and that's how he's counted in the game code to, with identical base stats to Excalibur Prime
Octavia does have a tiny bit of lore that is worth mentioning. The Tenno uprising happened in the middle of the grand ceremony celebrating the end of the Old War. The victory of their mutated slaves was meant to be honored with the beat of ceremonial naga drums, but Octavia hijacked this ceremony and played her anthem instead, giving all of the Tenno the signal to start slaughtering the Orokin in retaliation for murdering Margulis and being generally abusive douchebags.
@@cayoticsgaming2328always loved octavia but I dont play her traditionally i dont use her 2 at all and use her as a dps platform and her 1 is just for locking down areas or exolizers for levelcap cascade
Yes that's exactly what I thought. One of the scientists found out somehow that the Tenno could calm down the Warframes. But he had to prove it; and what better way to do it than to have the Warframe kill all the guards , but leave the scientists as soon as he comes in contact with the Tenno ?
Id say its more that they realise what they are and that their connected to something. Whether its the tenno or the frame that is aware in that moment is unknown but a good question
Bit of a correction, Ember, while its minor does have some pretty important lore tied to her, she was the officer who first found the tenno children when the Zarriman re-entered real space. He fire powers presumably originating from the void burns she recieved. So I'd argue she's lore lite.
while true that ember has that lore in her codex section, there isn't much to confirm the last part about her becoming ember. that's more of an theory than a solid bit of lore. The story doesn't depict her directly, the only vague connection it has is that the officer (Named Kaleen) received burns. While possible she became the ember warframe, there isn't really anything solid suggesting that. She got burned sure, but it could be just as likely that the tenno who burned her was the one that went on to pilot ember, and even that is speculation. While the other stories do have some connection with their respective frame, there isn't enough concrete evidence here and seeing how early this piece of lore was added, it could just very well be an story nothing to do with ember, but simply hinting at the tenno's origin
@@Pigmachine2000 true, that what i meant by that it was just hinting at the tenno's origin and that it could just be that, only a hint at the tenno's origin by mentioning the zariman and the childeren, not nessarly a hint towards embers origin.
She was not Ember, she was just the officer who broke quarantine and got burned by a survivor. There’s no indication that she was turned into the ember warframe.
@@BottomBunkArtHonestly it makes sense she would be ember, do yall not remember the end of that codex log? The orokin executors literally said they didnt send families into the void directly to the face of the woman who found out they did, did yall think they were just gonna let her go? The context of the codex and how the orokin operate all point towards changing her into a weapon to keep their secrets. Not to mention the orokin love twisted poetic outcomes, what better way to help her protect the children she broke quarantine for than to make her and her sympathy into armor. Honestly fromsoft barely writes a cohesive narrative and they get game of the year, expect a player to connect dots in warframe and its all " they didnt say that directly !"
Not talking about Visp's huge rear bumper in warframe takes... strongest of wills. Also Limbo got teared to pieces just because he miscalculated is incredibly funny. "Risks were calculated, but man, am I bad at math" - Limbo, probably.
Yup! I had just heard the joke so much I was like, I wanna do something different, there's got to be more to the frame than that. Also, he probably said that quote right as the tear happened lol
Don't forget the people in charge of the zerimon 10-0 made an almost identical mistake. Instead of taking short, safe jumps through the void, the crew, or the Orokin behind the crew elected to make one giant leap.... And that is when everything went to sh**. Limbo's story is very telling when taken in that context. And potentially a lot more tragic. I mean think for a minute not how the operator behind that frame picked that particular power set to explore and develop.... Or how harrow dedicated himself to the art of binding and chains in his effort to combat the man in the wall.
Nekros's and Saryn's prime trailers also have some cool lore. Like Vauban and Banshee they were made to face specific enemies. Saryn was made to fight poison with poison on earth, which was, for a time, taken over by infestation. Nekros was made to kill Orokin. To remind them of the terror of death.
The recap suddenly made me think about the situation with Ballas. The Orokin ruled through fear. In the Sacrifice quest he said that he didn't understand how he didn't understand that the Tenno could calm the Warframes through empathy. He was jealous because we were able to control something that he couldn't. So he tried to control us, but we wouldn't, so he tried to control Margulis instead so she can control us. It worked for a while. But Ballas got jealous that Margulis could control us while he couldn't. So he wanted her to get of us, but she chose death instead. Ballas than tried to control us through a deal with the Sentients. They were to give us a new Margulis. But because it's machine, Ballas was hoping that he could control her too. But even that went wrong because of the amount of Margulis she was exposed to by the void. Ballas tried reprogramming Lotus in trying to turn her into an enemy for us and then manipulate us into killing her. But we intercepted him and stabbed him. He made another pathetic attempt to make this work. Until he got his eyes on a new way of trying to control her through reviving her brother somehow and controlling him. It worked again for a little bit until she yet again showed that she doesn't let herself be controlled. So Ballas accepted that he couldn't control neither us nor Lotus, so he decided to just get rid of us with a clever trap. Because only if we're gone, he would be able to be in full control of everything. After the Void brought us back. There was frustration in him because he knew that he will never be in full control as long as we are around. So instead he decides to just destroy everything and go to world of machines where he can program everyone how he likes it. But for a man who wanted to control everything, he met his demise by not even being in contol of himself and surrenders to his own lies immediately. Empathy and compassion are incomprehensible poisons to Ballas. He hates us because he couldn't control us because of it and didn't understand why.
Yup! We are the exact antithesis of his being. I think Ballas is the purist example of the rot at the core of the Orokin. Like a bunch of them did bad things, but he was the incarnation of that. Meaning, as long as the two of us were alive, we would always come to blows until one of us was gone. (also, as a summarizing point......ballas is cringe)
My favorite part about Protea Prime’s trailer is that Parvos absolutely dominates the narration, and by the end Ballas sounds super bitter and angry in his line delivery.
I didn't see it mentioned, but it should be noted that for Chroma, the Warframe itself is wearing the pelt of a sentient dragon it killed. I always assumed THAT was why it was hunting down the old sentient relic, because the frame itself lost control and the dragon was the one in control at that point. I don't know if there's any other verification for this, unfortunately. Also, PHENOMINAL work. Just excellent. It's a ton of information to sift through.
Thank you so much! Also, I've heard that about Chroma a couple times now. Mind my asking if there's a place I can find that info? (not meaning that in a confrontational "give me your evidence" way, just genuinely curious if there's another place where I can find more lore cause I didn't find that piece)
@@corgthemighty So I did a bit of research bc I also could remember earing that and as far as I can tell it was a suggestion made by StallordD on his video about the sentients. While the wiki and the in-game codex put Chroma in the infested faction but that might just be bc warframes are a kind of infested
@@nyrocjharee_34 So this whole "Chroma killed a sentient dragon and wore its pelt" Is just a whole Mandela affect? Edit: Chroma is in with the Infestation due to him being tied with them, probably controlled by them, in the quest. Also, of course my poor boi is acting like that, he has no Tenno to calm him!
@@kingoffire105 Apparently ! I'm as shocked as you but I couldn't find any concrete evidence that this info is canon, a bunch of the Warframe community just agreed on that headcanon thinking ot was a fact. You're more than welcome to look it up you may find something more but I've no proof that Chroma being controlled by his pelt is from the actual lore
So Valkyr's (and actually pretty much all of Alad's lore) uh non-consentual cleaning out of her skin happened because of an event that can no longer be accessed, and isn't documented anywhere. The Zanuka in Alad's boss fight is also what happened to Valkyr's skin. Although it doesn't seem to matter because Valkyr prime made the lore around her really confusing because Valkyr was a different warframe with different abilities but she also isn't because her prime warframe has the same abilities and that's explicitly what Ballas designed her to do. So I guess that Alad flaying her just made her go from regular angry to Khornate berserker angry.
my assumption is alad v only got skin deep before the lotus sent the tenno to stop him and partially rescue valkyr. he began the project but never got further in that regard, yet also soon after he began to research the infested. so its likely he realized a lot more about the warframes than we did at the time. he still doesnt know exactly how they work by the time the 2nd dream comes around though.
@@nemooceansoul1137I presume that the upcoming Stalker-focused update, Jade Shadows, will finally update the Stalker Acolyte dialogue from Alad V since they still use lines from a decade-old operational event involving Alad V. Plus, we haven’t really seen that traitorous salad since the New War when Veal Cutlet sacrificed himself to stop alad from bargaining with Narmer. Venmo has been confirmed to have died during that ordeal, but Alad’s survived worse, multiple times, and I wouldn’t put it past him for him to come crawling back yet again.
@@hambor12 honestly at this point id be dissappointed if they killed off salad. kinda wish the other guy didnt die and we got a couple of missions like kahl did but from his perspective... now nef..... i am entirely surprised we havent tried killing him off "permanently" like vor... also if i were a tenno, id grab vor, take him onto the orbiter, show him the forge (in the pre relic days) and show him the millions of keys we produced daily.... before tossing him out of the airlock.... because we probably dont care for the key.... though it would be funny if they did a bit in a future quest where the goal was to get the key from him in the void specifically for some use
Caliban was made during the old war. This detail is just tucked away on his alt helm. Also this is a huge stretch but there is an unaccounted for tenno that has awoken from the second dream that we know was in control of certain wolf frame. Maybe they had something to do chroma smashing the machines to hide secrets. Especially if one of those machines had the truth of the tenno. Amazing video btw
As far as I can tell, Hildryn was Ballas' primary bodyguard, perhaps a close friend growing up, and she kept this part of her personality through her transformation.
addition to garuda piece in the video: her blueprint was found in basically a pile of trash and saryn: ballas was so down bad for margulis, he designed the frame to look like her? i guess?
Right?! When I saw Excalibur Prime had a story attached I was like, aaahh, so here's the lore, but then I read the story and it didn't really have anything to do about him, except saying that he was the first made, that's it.
I'm pretty sure Xaku's name is a mix of the void words Xata, Lohk, and Khra, meaning Truth, Void, and Time. Xaku's powers also do have todo with these things too. Their 1 is a void damage buff called Xata's (Truth) Whisper and their 4 is called the Vast Untime which pauses the timers on their abilities. 3 is called Grasp of Lohk (Void) and their cycle ability, The Lost, names are Gaze, Accuse, Deny which sound quite similar to a certain line in a certain void poem.
“They were asleep for hundreds of years” a certain character’s recent dialogue I read about the operator being “a bajillion years old” makes the idea of it being hundreds of years feel like an understatement and a half. Considering as well the drifter specifically says centuries when referring to his own experiences makes me realize the drifter is the younger of the two.
I'm excited to see where they go with Soulframe as well, but yes, they have a ton of options for lore development so hopefully it goes well in the future.
Tiny sliver from the Saryn Prime trailer, she was designed to wipe out the Infested on Earth. One of the tougher things is that Ballas is an unreliable narrator (outright the "Golden Lord of Lies" as Hunhow put it, lol) so the Prime trailers and the Vitruvian are kind of sus. And Drusus is "that one guy" running the wiki who may or may not be fanfiction lol. So theres a grain of salt to take on the Leverian, especially when it implies things that the frames (or universe in general) in the game don't seem to reflect as actual possibilities (like Lavos Snakes being an Orokin Executor) For the Stolen Dreams, we set off the “all good, time to rise up and attack” signal that Natah was supposed to send out but never did after the Tenno cut off the Orokin heads. New Strange is a bit more open ended. As you note “someone” is trying to stop the Tenno from rediscovering Sentients. Could be Natah assigned Chroma before her memory issues, possibly an early intervention of Ballas, or Hunhow himself. In the now-lost to time loading screen for Chromas update, it referred to his pelt as being made from the remnants of”his worst enemy”, which for a Warframe at the time would have been a sentient. Possibly meaning it gave Sentients sone influence over the frame in the absence of Tenno.
OOOHH!!! So that's where the Chroma thing came from! I've had a couple people mention it but didn't know where it was from, and it wasn't in any of the in-game materials I was seeing. Thank you for these contributions to the library!
100% invested, a bit sad that Excal doesn't have a big lore, but I think I know you will give Excal Umbra his own spot. I'll be waiting for part 2, o' Lore Master (in training)
I think we need more cc like you in the warframe community. Most cc are min-maxers, how to’s, and grind channels. I think we need more lore heads like you to help even vets like me better understand the world we explore and grind. Keep up the great work man, you got a sub from me!
@lazybuddah9639 oh no doubt about it, im not saying there shouldnt be those content creators lol youre absolutely right we do need those guide videos. What im suggesting is there needs to be more variety other than those cc’s. If you look at destiny 2 they have a cc that does fun videos like “guess the imposter” that they have random members of the community join in on. Image there was a cc like that in wf? 🤔 or even cc’s like this one that tries to make sense with the lore that we have so far. wouldn’t that be more entertaining and fun to watch than “how to be the sweatiest sweat lord in the origin system”
I managed to completely forget Hidden Messages existed when Mirage Prime was released. I never considered the idea that first gen Frames might've still been around for all the time that the Tenno had been asleep.
Oh yeah, Harrow and Protea are two that come to mind that were doing things all while the Tenno were asleep. (well Harrow might not have been a Gen 1 since by the time we see it Rell is still controlling it)
Just found the channel, but already love it. Its refreshing to see someone who acts like they genuinely like the topic they are discussing. Not to mention the great humor. Can't wait to see more.
Same here! First time working with an actual physical green screen and all the lighting issues that come with it lol, and organizing all this information was wild.
18:18 “or he was into muscular women” the one agreeable take Ballas had. To be fair, I have a tremendous amount of bias given that 56.5% of my 2,577 hours played split between Hildryn and Hildryn Prime(~1,456 hours)
(SPOILERS) My theory with the events on the Zariman is that when we shook Wally's hand he did some eternalism shenanigans and instead of just saving us he instead decimated all posible time lines where the 10-0 children move to the farm in your words. This left just 2 time-lines left; Our one, we escape and become a Tenno and Duviri/The Drifters time-line where we don't escape and create Duviri. Eventually through more void shenanigans they both end up converging after the New War
Imagine telling Ballas about Duviri during the Old War. Just like "aha yes I won" and then the drifter shows up and says "actually, there's a whole parallel timeline version of the tenno so you actually didn't end us." and then ballas just throws a fit.
It is established that Wally can in fact do exactly that And it’s revealed in the series of messages that Baro Ki’teer sends as the various servers were merged. Baro’s inventory was synced first and there he mentions meeting “a handsome tapping stranger” and made a deal with Wally to uh Murder every alternate version of himself to become the most special and also only iteration of Baro Ki’teer, because he’s that narcissistic and couldn’t stand the idea of a multiversal clone of himself cramping his style. Then, when cross save was introduced, he follows up by stating that the deal he made may have resulted in the complete destruction of the other dimensions that had the other baro ki’teers (i.e. the console servers) and all of them collapsed into the PC server timeline to explain why the relays that were destroyed/rebuilt were all aligned to match the PC star chart.
I became a Caliban main recently and by god I would LOVE it if he got a quest diving into his inception and perhaps using him to show us more about the sentients. I’ve become a huge fan of the faction since I’ve started playing him, their designs are so good. Also in terms of gameplay he’s not as bad as people say, his first ability is the worst ability in the game but just helminth that off for something that’s actually useful and he can be a great weapon’s platform
Mesa is canonically blind because it is appealing to easily for her to hit people so she now where’s a blind fold to make it easier and more fun So she literally never misses a shoot while blind imagine her without it
I know who was controlling chroma. Essentially his coat is made from sentient technology so it could be inferred that his own coat has become self aware and is manipulating the frame, it wants to destroy the arcane codexes because it leads to sentient more sentient tech that the Tenno would most likely destroy. Also with the whole rhino thing, Davis’ theory was that the void-touched children of the Zariman would be able to transfer themselves into the warframes, pioneering transference technology used before the war within quest. Due to the danger of accessing the sleeping children and putting a highly violent warframe near them is probably not safe even by Orokin standards he released the beast so he could have his experiment without needing to go through the bureaucratic channels.
The voice in the Chroma's quest is also considered the voice of Hunhow, as he speaks with the same distortion the first time in Natah quest, so either it's controlled by sentient coat to hide tracks of sentients or it is independently destroying codices in rage for the old enemy, unable to identify our Warframes as friends
Where did you hear about the Chroma killing a sentient dragon for its pelt? Just wondering.. I think it is honestly a Mandela affect, it says it no where in Warframe lore I believe.
@@kingoffire105 Chroma didn’t kill a sentient dragon, his coat is made from similar technology after all both sentients and warframes are of Orokin make. Due to its adaptive nature it makes sense that while the frame itself was possibly incapacitated and without an operator its coat was susceptible to being controlled by sentients allowing them to puppet the frame.
I love the idea of the classic James Bond villains in their office, discussing evil plans, and hyldrin is the muscle that just stands menacingly by their side with her arms crossed, giving (non existent) glares to intimidate any attempt at doing her boss wrong
I like to theorize about the warframes we have very little lore about and what kind of person would be given such a form. I'm a huge Zephyr main so I theorize that she was some sort of pilot or archwing user before changing since she would need a good sense of 3d positioning ahead of time. When it comes to Ember, she's obviously got a punk aesthetic and the moltov cocktail is the iconic punk weapon, I imagine she was a revolutionary leader or someone who was actively protesting the Orokin and was captured and changed as a form of cruel irony. I have so many more theories but Ill be rambling all day lol
That's awesome to develop those headcannon theories, imagine if we got to go back in time to meet some of the original people before they became frames, that would be great!
I believe Ember does have a bit of lore, in the codex entry. She was an officer and was the one who found the Tenno aboard the Zariman. It is also mentioned that she was burnt and lost an eye, so that probably has something to do with her powers
@@supertails8881 I like to think Oberon was originally an Orokin Biologist who focused on conservation, when his desire for conservation began to push against Orokin ideals he was inducted into the Warframe program unwillingly, it's noted Oberon was originally designed to be a paladin and every paladin needs an oath, an oath of nature conservation/avenger of nature's destruction seems like the type he'd have. Hydroid could have been a void pirate, maybe a rogue who attacked Orokin ships (maybe even paid to do so by other Orokin) one day he attacked the wrong ship and got captured, the change took hold but he strikes me as someone who had a very strong will and spirit in life so more of his personality seeped into the frame than the orokin probably wanted lol
Ngl I searched up warframe lore saw this video clicked on it then went back to the playlist and without skipping watched every single second of each episode and I will do the same for this and the next and you have gained a sub man your videos are all I needed
28:37 those experiments include... 1. flaying her skin 2. nailing rods through her limbs (and bones) which can still be seen in her arms 3. replacing parts of her system. originally this was suspected to be limbs...but now we think its the systems warframes use for their abilities 4. alot of mental experiments 5. and more! Salad V....is gonna look like a salad bar after rats get at it
if im not wrong, excal was the first to be ever concieved, hence why he's so basic and almost non-distinguishable from your everyday regular dax. also Rahetalius did some amazing fan lore for equinox and many loreless others back in ye olde days when he was still playing (my favorite is zaku's one where he makes a play on survivalist guilt and how people deformed by war are greeted when they come back)
@@dnpsquar It's even worse knowing that the person in the lore isn't really even Gyre, but instead someone named Gyra. Like what if it was a quest or story about Gyre learning more about Gyra to discover more about the person she was based off of as a weird way of searching for identity.
@@corgthemighty that would be awesome idk if it would work but a spy mission on the zarmin sneaking around void angels and thrax to get information on who gyra was kinda like the khal missions ig
13:52 Most of the plot hints towards Octavia's existence, but the whole quest is meant to introduce her Relic, called The Mandachord. It was this instrument that that began the Slaughter of the Orokin Empire... but they never explained how "music" could affect hunhow during the story XD
Ive been playing wf for quite some time but the whole lore history is something i do not grasp fully so that first part of the whole orokin and till the start of the game is the most informative, concise, and straight to the point lore dumping ive experience. Thanks I love it!
About the Chroma quest: the Voice from the Arcane machine was actually Hunhow. The voice back then was named "sentient voice" in the gamefiles. It was set up for the Second Dream quest. Likely Hunhow either trying to taunt us or trying to contact someone about the reservoir, but it got interrupted by old Orokin Technology. Lotus acts uncomfortable during these sections like she knows more than she says. Theories are that either Lotus send the Chroma to keep you away from Hunhow and keep her last barried. Or Stalker was being contacted by Hunhow and either of them were trying to cover their tracks. There were a lot of theories going around when these quests dropped because around that time it really felt like they are teasing that something big was coming. We didn't know about Hunhow yet. But we did see that it was called "Sentient voice" and we have heard about the Sentients in the previous lore we found about the Old War. So from here it became clear that our ancient enemies are about to return. And the Rhino story: Rhino looks at his hands just like in the Second Dream. The scientist proved that the Tenno can calm the Warframes
I always saw Caliban as the next step to Archon technology. The 3 archons we see are basically the same as caliban, though they were crafted more crudely and lets just say the sentient that became the Archons weren't too happy to be brought back has hideous hybrids, And they contained a major weakness in the archon shards that also would kill them if removed. Caliban on the other hand is far more streamlined design wise and unlike the archons seemed to lack a mind inside the body (we'll have to wait for his prime to figure out that fact though.). When I finished the new war quest I got the theory that Caliban was created during the events of Narmer's takeover and Erra took the remains of the warframes on cetus (The dead rhino we see Kahl get his corinth prime from) and try a new method of combining the warframe and sentient parts, maybe ballas even helped him out since he was the one who created the warframes. Deeming his creation as battle ready he would attempt to end Caliban out as a warframe that would hunt down the Drifter but he never got the chance to issue the command once Ballas attempted to devour the sun. I'd try to make sense of why we can get a caliban of our own so I'd say lore wise he'd maybe be in cryo sleep on Cetus or maybe Erras never actually got around to creating his body? idk.
My headcanon is that Volt,Mag and Excalibur were best friends which is why they worked together so well in the opening. They have worked together before. I think they even had roles they assigned to each other. Excalibur was the leader, the one who was alwas the first one to volunteer on missions,Volt was the brains he came up with the tactics, and mag was the heart of the group. She didnt enjoy violence but heh,she wouldnt say NO to it
Okay so, I have been playing warframe on and off since 2014 now and I never completely grasped the lore until your videos 😭 Love how you approach your videos !!
Glad I could help! I definitely had to cut down a lot of details to make it more streamlined, but as long as people are able to follow along and get the general gist!
Just popping in with a comment to say Long time player here touching up on the lore! Almost became a founder, but missed it by like, five minutes xD and I would never skip around a lore video! Happily sat through MyNameIsByf's ten hour long lore video for Destiny in one sitting~
First time in my life of playing warframe (about 10 yeas for now) i see _simple_ explanation of pre-game lore in 10 minutes, so even not so bright person as me understands it. Bravo!
Yup! Only wanted to include the stuff that's needed to understand the story of each Warframe (so like the transference bolts are needed for Dagath and Umbra, the breakdown of the factions are needed for a lot of them, same with Ballas, Man in the Wall is needed for Harrow, etc.)
It did get confirmed that he was made as an inside agent by Erra and then just somehow turned to our side, so yes, I 100% think he still gets the intrusive voices lol.
one thing about Oberon that most have forgotten or not picked up on: they changed his description some time ago, his original description called him "the embodiment of the balance that Tenno are sworn to uphold" I really wish they kept that. DE did the GOAT dirty.
I've learned that there are a good many descriptive lines about the Warframes that have been lost to time. Apparently there was also one saying that Chroma slayed a Void dragon or something like that which sounds nuts.
@@corgthemighty I believe the description changes happened around the time Duviri Circuit came out so they could allow players to get a better idea of what their general roles are. That's my only theory tbh
Cause I wanted to do something special for the longer form ones. Typically I film in long-form so I can post to Tiktok and RUclips. But for the long-form videos, I go horizontal, and wanted to learn how to properly green screen and do audio for stuff.
I know there was a bit of saryn lore when her prime variant came out. Ballas mentioned she was created to fight the infested. A way to "fight fire with fire" type of ordeal. Kinda neat how banshee was made to fight grineer, vuabon corpus, and saryan the infested.
Mesa does have a little bit of lore, although it really isn’t that huge. Similarly to Valkyr, Mesa was captured and experimented on by Alad V, this time after he began experimenting with the infestation. Alad V was able to invent a control collar by fusing his Zanuka control collar with the infestation, allowing him to hijack the motor functions of warframes. It’s worth noting that that last part is largely speculative, although there are some context clues to suggest it. Either way, we end up facing an “infested” Mesa (just like how we faced off against Chroma), and Lotus tells us “That's not a Tenno. That's a hollow Warframe being puppeted by Infested flesh. Put it out of its misery.”
In my personal theory, the three warframes that make up xaku were guardians and servants to the entrati who were sent into the void in an attempt to recover albrecht entrati when he drifted into the void portal but an accident occurred where the void tore those three warframes apart and the subsequent burst of void energy from them cause a reaction that fused them together before ejecting the newly formed amalgamation known as xaku out of the void.
Hey, I absolutely loved this video and wanted you to know. Your passion comes across as genuine, and it resonates with a dude that has 2500 hours into the game like myself. 😁
I’m in love with this video but for me, a quick critique I feel that turning up background music a little more will add to the narrative a bit, love this vid btw
Great comment! I'll keep it in mind. I do still have to fiddle a bit with making sure my voice and the music aren't competing but nothing a couple youtube tutorials can't fix.
A neat detail about chroma is when you go to the codex you'll find her entry in the infested section so from my understanding chroma was operated by the infestion also i feel like the sentient object was foreshadowing the faction themselves btw love your content
I played warframe for about a month like 10 years ago then stopped and now I’m back in and fully invested in some content for the game lets goooooooooo
Something I’d love to see done, which I haven’t seen any of, is a lore explaining video for newbies (pre-second dream) that lets them know what is going on and why they’re there, without spoiling major points (like what they really are or any characters that haven’t been introduced yet.) Something like “this lady has woken you up. You’re an ancient super soldier. You’re awake because these people who were fighting hundreds of years ago are fighting again. There was a super wealthy civilization that messed up.” Something I can sent my noob friends who don’t get the cutscenes to get them hyped for the story that’s unfolding👌sometimes I want to explain what’s going on while making it sound neat but also without spoiling the big stuff.
Croma was originally mentioned to be a warframe Sentient hybrid. So the implication was the sentient part of him was what was letting him be controlled.
Hope you guys enjoy part 1!
Aiming to have part 2 out next weekend (probably another Sunday upload given how busy the main week is gonna be)

So, Octavia's Anthem is The Rains of Castamere from Game Of Thrones?
Oooo, good to know! I'll make sure to add it to the library!

The rhino stopping is the first time a tenno transfers into the warframe, it was the tenno who stopped the beast. I think.
Gotcha! That would make sense why it was looking at its hands like that, just wasn't sure.
It was a cell where a Tenno was held before. The presence in the room calmed Rhino down.
This comment deserves more buzz ❤
@@Crazor2000 ember prime lore was the very first mention of the zariman, even before the second dream

@@corgthemighty Love you for that 🙏 shiii gets old
Don't forget the people in charge of the zerimon 10-0 made an almost identical mistake.
(also, as a summarizing point......ballas is cringe)
that sounds a lot like Wally...
Heh, DE really love foreshadowing don't they?
My favorite part about Protea Prime’s trailer is that Parvos absolutely dominates the narration, and by the end Ballas sounds super bitter and angry in his line delivery.
I loved listening to it, they've also both got great va's for that.

Excalibur lore irl: one of the finest tales of believing in your vision I've ever seen

@@corgthemighty NovaUmbral has a great video on purely excalibur umbra. If you haven't heard of him, it's worth checking him out for sure.
Excalibur lore IRL is more like... well it was more twists than an Infested ship. Sword in rock? Fisher king? Lady of the lake? Who freaking knows?!
@@corgthemighty So I did a bit of research bc I also could remember earing that and as far as I can tell it was a suggestion made by
StallordD on his video about the sentients.
I always thought they used too much Helminth on Chroma and that same Helminth became one absolutely with Chroma.

As far as I can tell, Hildryn was Ballas' primary bodyguard, perhaps a close friend growing up, and she kept this part of her personality through her transformation.
addition to garuda piece in the video: her blueprint was found in basically a pile of trash
and saryn: ballas was so down bad for margulis, he designed the frame to look like her? i guess?
what warframe player ISN'T down bad for margulis/lotus? i don't blame ballas if tgat's the case.

So theres a grain of salt to take on the Leverian, especially when it implies things that the frames (or universe in general) in the game don't seem to reflect as actual possibilities (like Lavos Snakes being an Orokin Executor)
For the Stolen Dreams, we set off the “all good, time to rise up and attack” signal that Natah was supposed to send out but never did after the Tenno cut off the Orokin heads.

18:18 “or he was into muscular women” the one agreeable take Ballas had. To be fair, I have a tremendous amount of bias given that 56.5% of my 2,577 hours played split between Hildryn and Hildryn Prime(~1,456 hours)
Just means you're a person of culture.
(SPOILERS)
My theory with the events on the Zariman is that when we shook Wally's hand he did some eternalism shenanigans and instead of just saving us he instead decimated all posible time lines where the 10-0 children move to the farm in your words. This left just 2 time-lines left; Our one, we escape and become a Tenno and Duviri/The Drifters time-line where we don't escape and create Duviri. Eventually through more void shenanigans they both end up converging after the New War
Eternalism is weird and idk man
Imagine telling Ballas about Duviri during the Old War. Just like "aha yes I won" and then the drifter shows up and says "actually, there's a whole parallel timeline version of the tenno so you actually didn't end us." and then ballas just throws a fit.
@@corgthemighty Fitting 😂
It is established that Wally can in fact do exactly that
And it’s revealed in the series of messages that Baro Ki’teer sends as the various servers were merged.
Baro’s inventory was synced first and there he mentions meeting “a handsome tapping stranger” and made a deal with Wally to uh
Murder every alternate version of himself to become the most special and also only iteration of Baro Ki’teer, because he’s that narcissistic and couldn’t stand the idea of a multiversal clone of himself cramping his style.

You know what, tell me more about your theories, I would like to hear more

She didnt enjoy violence but heh,she wouldnt say NO to it
Part 1 was funny. But saryn prime does have a lil lore on why balis build her
Okay so, I have been playing warframe on and off since 2014 now and I never completely grasped the lore until your videos 😭
Love how you approach your videos !!
Volt main here and yes we volt mains boost gauss mains when we are in a mission 😌
The selfless guass really
Doing the Lord's work.

@@corgthemighty 😂
I liked how u organization the warframes lore. I was thinking you might do it in order of release, but this is nice too.
Glad to hear! I knew it might sound a bit odd at first, but I think it works well for flow.
The volt part😭😭
The whole lore story recap is the first time in 11 years I have clearly understand the story. You want a subscriber ❤
Glad I could help! I definitely had to cut down a lot of details to make it more streamlined, but as long as people are able to follow along and get the general gist!
26:11 haha I got him for freeeeeee
I’m here for every frame and the loremaster! 🎉 patiently waiting for part 2 and more
I'm here for comments like this! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nah in my head vauban is just batman, just a normal guy in an armor throwing random shit at random guys.
100% he's just hoping nobody in-universe finds out he's not a frame lol
Ah yes, another criminally underrated lore channel
The part 2 of this started auto playing and about halfway through I subscribed and came to watch this one first. Good job and very funny observations
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just popping in with a comment to say Long time player here touching up on the lore! Almost became a founder, but missed it by like, five minutes xD
and I would never skip around a lore video! Happily sat through MyNameIsByf's ten hour long lore video for Destiny in one sitting~
Welcome in! Did you enjoy the video?
Holy hell! This is kiterally the best warframe lore explenation ive ever watched! Kudos!
Thank you my friend! Glad you enjoyed!
This is my first video from you, popped in my recommendations and I figured I'd watch
First time in my life of playing warframe (about 10 yeas for now) i see _simple_ explanation of pre-game lore in 10 minutes, so even not so bright person as me understands it.
Bravo!
This is actually great and so witty enough to keep my attention
Haven't watched the whole thing, but i know its gonna be a very thrilling video. Subscribed recently and I love all the content. Thank you
Love the positivity, and did the vid live up to your expectations?
After 7:16 I realized just how much he isnt including lol. Definitley subscribing and definitley binging all of his videos eventually
Yup! Only wanted to include the stuff that's needed to understand the story of each Warframe (so like the transference bolts are needed for Dagath and Umbra, the breakdown of the factions are needed for a lot of them, same with Ballas, Man in the Wall is needed for Harrow, etc.)
Loremaster must be crying in happiness after Caliban rework
You know it, my boy is finally getting some justice!
Just found this after Tennocon. Man I can't wait for an update/Part 3 when ever 1999 drops! Thanks for the breakdowns!
Caliban really has the intrusive thoughts 💀 (that’s my head cannon now)
It did get confirmed that he was made as an inside agent by Erra and then just somehow turned to our side, so yes, I 100% think he still gets the intrusive voices lol.
one thing about Oberon that most have forgotten or not picked up on: they changed his description some time ago, his original description called him "the embodiment of the balance that Tenno are sworn to uphold"
I really wish they kept that.
I loved it! Going to watch Pt-2, right now! Oh and I love your work! Your content ROCKS 💯💪🏽🫶🏽🙏🏽😁😎😇‼️‼️‼️
Saved this on download to be my bedtime lore lullaby hahaha
Why these recent Warframe videos are so good in quality!? You have earned yourself a new subscriber sir Best of luck to you!
These vids are rad.
Hey, I absolutely loved this video and wanted you to know. Your passion comes across as genuine, and it resonates with a dude that has 2500 hours into the game like myself. 😁
I'm glad I was able to come across that way and I hope I was able to represent some of these stories effectively. Stand proud Tenno!
I still remember rhino being my frame going into you know when. Absolute shivers and one of the best gaming moments I can remember
"The Full Lore-section!" What a tease! 😆 Hella looking forward to part 2!
Love to hear it! And yeah, I'm a sucker for cliffhangers.
@@itssoulcraft Thank you for your contribution to the library!
I played warframe for about a month like 10 years ago then stopped and now I’m back in and fully invested in some content for the game lets goooooooooo
And you're joining back at a great time with three big updates planned for the rest of the year including Warframe 1999!
Great video as always! Can't wait for part two!
Me too! It's definitely been a long road to it!
Stumbled on this channel, and love the work!
I've seen this video like 5 times now and man.... I love this games story. This videos made me go back and I am getting ready to play New War.
I just finished New War and was confused as hell so thank you so much for the beginning lore recap
The thing with the sentient relic with Chroma is because It's skin is the skin of a sentient, thats where it's adaptation to damage comes.
Croma was originally mentioned to be a warframe Sentient hybrid. So the implication was the sentient part of him was what was letting him be controlled.
