Not surprising that living in areas where you can grow and eat fresh nutritious produce leads to longer life! Let food be thy medicine 💛 Yes to more videos like this!
We live next door to Loma Linda and it’s truly inspiring to have access to that Blue Zone. Great Farmer’s Markets, restaurants and grocery stores. Thank you for this video!!
These sound delicious. It would be great to see more Blue Zone recipes. My husband and I just recently decided to start eating more of a Blue Zone diet. I never thought he'd go for it, so when he asked if I wanted to try it, I jumped right on board!
Hi Tiffany, thanks for sharing these wonderful recipes. Being myself from south Italy, I can confirm the quality and the simplicity of the ingredients that goes in our meals are the key to a healthier diet! When I get asked how Italians make tomato sauce, people are always surprised by the few ingredients you need... garlic, oregano, fresh tomatoes and olive oil..🤗 just as an example
You look stunning in your black sweater and the perfectly paired earrings, Jennifer! I agree with the other women who are saying how nice it is to have these simple recipes. I was surprised how tasty each of them looked; I think the first one I’ll try is the avocado pasta recipe. Not much appeals to me in the way of food lately, but I really would like to have had a bite of that!! It was fun~and enlightening~to learn which areas are considered blue zone. You may be right about them living longer because they don’t stress over complicated recipes! 💞
Hi, Jennifer. I'm familiar with Blue Zones. There is a large community of Seventh-day Adventists in Loma Linda, and the majority eat a vegetarian or plant-based diet. On average, the Adventists in the Loma Linda area live about 10 years longer than the average person. I'm a member of an Adventist Church in Northern Virginia. When our church was open before the pandemic, we held weekly vegetarian fellowship lunches almost every Saturday after the worship service. I've lost weight since becoming an Adventist, and my health is great. I'm 67 and am not on any prescription medications.
Yes more Blue Zone videos! Loved this! I lived in Loma Linda for many years ( I'm Seventh Day Adventist) and even met my hubby there. I have very fond memories of it. They have a great market (Loma Linda Market) and great people! The staple is a vegetarian/ vegan diet. It's fun to see you do a vegetarian video!
Oh! I cant believe it!! This is the ultimate cookbook in our house. We have read a lot about the blue zones people groups and this book is full of wonderful recipes and insights. I love the flavor profiles listed for each region towards the back of the book. It's interesting to note the similarities. Yaaay!
WoW! I want to make 3 of those! Thank you Jennifer. I am very interested in the Blue Zones. I guess it's the same or similar to the "Mediterranean diet" that I have heard a lot about. They eat beautiful food and live a long time. It's so inspiring....especially if you are in a cooking rut.
We too are near Loma Linda...love my doctors at the hospital there. Very big on life style changes over meds right and left. I have Afib and with my doctors help, life style changes over the last four years I was told recently that I may not need the ablation. Yeah!! My husband goes to the VA there in LL and they are always giving him a pill for this, that or the other. We are fortunate to live in a Blue Zone and being able to grow fresh food year round. We have table grapes, strawberries...which have been producing year round up here in Yucaipa, raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries, citrus and our veggie beds. The more we get into growing our own the less lawn we have. All good. Love your channel, love your books...bought your first way before you had a RUclips channel. Very happy the day I found you here. It helped so much getting through 2020. blessings to you and yours, Jilly
Love seeing blue zone recipes on your channel, thank you!! Would def be interested in more. Just wanted to say thanks for explaining how to find and prepare hearts of palm because no one had ever taught me before, but I’ve liked it in salads at restaurants and Chop’t! 🙏🏻😀

I haven’t watched this yet but I’m excited! I just read the book The Blue Zones from the library and am so interested in this! I am loving your food theme videos Jennifer!
Hi Jennifer, Love these fresh meal ideas. Loma Linda has packaged meal options which just add water (if I remember); I found them at Dollar Tree for only $1! For lunch, I have been recreating these with brown rice, red lentils, sautéed onions, another veggie & fresh herbs: delicious, nutritious & fast. Please remind us of these options when midwest gardens are overflowing with fresh ingredients. All the best ladies, Julie 🌷
I read Blue Zones a few years ago and still use it as a reference, I love that book! I do enjoy making the avocado pasta in the summer it's delicious! Thanks for this video and I would like more like it. 👍

Hi Jennifer! As someone who is allergic to rice (I know!) I have been making barley risotto for years. I highly recommend roasting eggplant and cherry tomatoes and adding that to the barley risotto. Delish!!!! Loved your video today :)
You would be amazed how much rice is added to things you'd never think of. Start looking at lables, you'll be amazed. Farro, barley, quinoa, couscous... there is plenty for me. Gluten isn't a problem!

I have been reading about blue zones for a while now and have been eating mostly vegan for coming up on 8 years. I so completely appreciate your take on this healthy way of eating.
I really loved this video. I’ve been studying The Blue Zones, as we once lived in Spain and incorporate a lot of the Mediterranean diet, and also my whole family is 7th day Adventist, that are more than 80% of the population of Loma Linda, they are known to eat healthily, a lot of grains, nuts, no alcohol. But, others places use to have a cup of wine and studies show that it’s good. I mean - I truly believe that simplicity can play a lot in this. Spirituality - calmness, nature, in sum - everything that your videos and you show us every time. ❤️
This was such a timely video. I have been reading and working in these practices into my life. I feel so much better eating meals made in my own kitchen and staying away from processed food. I would like to see more videos like this one.
OK....loved this! I recently heard about the blue zone areas and eating from another YTer. I liked that your recipes seemed fairly "normal" and not challenging to make. Would love to see more!

Thank you so very much. I am going to make the Pearled Barley and Pea Risotto tonight! The last time I made risotto, I stood at my cooktop for 45 minutes stirring and stirring - way too long! Thank you again, Bernadette
