Loma Linda California! I don't live there but it's like 30 minutes away. Also, I have never heard of the Blue Zone diet. Very interesting.

Love this! Also, I just noticed they all live in warmer climates closer to the ocean 🤔

One thing I will say that my grandmother lived until a very ripe age of 94 and was barely sick a day in her life
She lived in Austria for all her life, ate maybe a vegetable once every other day… began each day with a piece of dry cake and coffee substitute. Meat and all things Austrian were staples in our house as I grew up and the word diet didn’t really exist in my house… one ate what was there
BUT she never snacked, portion sizes were small and ‘European’ and she worked either in the garden, the family farm etc
But prob one of the healthiest people I ever knew

Sounds like there are a few things in common with the Blue Zone ways!

My grandma lived too 100 yrs old ate meat eggs fish and other sea foods and vegetables , drank her coffee everyday . She never Exercise she was always slim. Is base on your genetics . Also less stress. My mom lived to 89 yrs old and passed away 2023. What the food industry is doing to our food and plants is effecting our health . All the chemicals and toxic and the environment. We can eat all good foods in our plate balance it out .

4:25 kind of, I intuitively do the 80% rule and always have. Your stomach will hurt, your energy will deplete, and your strength will be less if you eat more than that. Avoid the harsh digestion and fuel to move.

Loved getting to hear your perspective on blue zone diet/lifestyle. Watching your vids this morning helped me to not overeat when I went out to a lunch with friends and managed to save it for when I got hungry later instead! ❤ small victories
Question! I know you’re not a dermatologist but I’d love to hear your nutritionist perspective on how certain foods support healthy hair/skin and nails. Was curious if certain foods can help with certain skin inflammations/irritations??
You’re a gem Lucy! Thank you for all your helpful videos and encouragement ❤❤❤

I loved the blue zone book so much. Thanks for talking about it! If you’re not a book reader there’s the shows on Netflix.

Really great video, Lucie! I’m a Californian (born and raised on the central coast) so Loma Linda is about 5 hours away and inland, but I’ve been wanting to visit for a while! I’ll have to take a road trip soon and observe the community there. I love learning about Blue Zones, and Okinawa and Ikaria specifically appeal to me-how fun would it be to take a Blue Zone tour around the world one day? Anyhow, thanks for the great content, take care! ❤

Thank you, Lucie! Could you make a video about PCOS? Many women are concerned about it

I have read about this before. What you said really sums it up. My take on this is the healthy eating lifestyle and activity. Great video.

Ugh, I can't do beans anymore. It's too hard on my stomach.

Soaking them and rincing them thoroughly if you get them pre-cooked can help!
