Best case scenario, Steelers lead the AFC North with 370 yards offense a game. These are the same stats as Baltimore last year, which was 6th best in the league. That is 6,290 total yards.
Harris and Warren combine for 2000 rushing. They combine for 20 yards receiving a game, 340 for the season.
    Pickens 1275 yard season - 75 yards a game.
Muth and the rest of the TEs get 700. That is a touch over 40 yards a game.
Wilson gets 680. That is 40 yards a game.
The rest of the wide receivers get 500, that is a shade under 30 yards a game.
That leaves 795 on the table for WR2.
Zay Jones had 823 in 2022. He had half as many receptions in 2023, but similar YPR. This is because he played half as many games.
This is all speculation. But he is capable of filling that need.
The truth is when you look at the running game, Harris had 4 YPC and Warren had 5. They only ran the ball 23 times a game for a total of 404 times. If they run the ball 30 times a game, 510 times in the season, 4 YPC average gives them 2,000 yards. But they 4.5 a carry with the improved offensive line, slightly above the weighted average, that is 2,295. And they caught 540 yards between them.
Ravens had 66 offense snaps per game. So if the Steelers were similar and threw about 35 times a game with a 65% completion rate (Wilson's numbers last year), that is about 22 catches a game. But that is only 176 yards at Wilson's 8 yard average a catch. We need about 2.5 yards more a catch.
Pickens averaged 18 a catch. This should fall some as he gets more completions and fewer RAC.
Wilson in college averaged 15 a catch every year.
Even Zay averaged close to 10 last year.
Muth averaged about 10 for the past three years.
My head is swimming in numbers. The point is that we could be a 400 yards a game team at best. We could match the Ravens at 375 a game. And we can easily be a 350 yards a game team, placing us at the Eagles, Packers, Chiefs, and Vikings level.

The Seahawks will probably keep him just to spite Russ. If they trade him, they’ll demand more if the Steelers than they would the Browns or some other squad.
The Cowboys want him too, and so do the Dolphins, Falcons, Jets, Bills, Eagles, and Bears. If DK is for sale, about 20 teams will make offers, and he’ll fit in just about anywhere.

The best part is as the second round went on, people were screaming for the Steelers to trade up to make sure they got Frasier. They remained patient and still got him without having to trade anything away.

Russ will have an MVP-caliber season. The Steelers are saying they’re going to run the ball, but they’re looking at superstar receivers who will demand the ball. That tells me they’ll be a very balanced offense, with about 2,100-2,200 total rushing yards and Russ throwing for 4,300 yards and 40 TDs.
Teams are averaging 122 RYPG, which is a 35-year high. So teams are emphasizing the run a little more, but RBs are sharing loads.
I expect Russ to contribute 400 of those rushing yards. He had 350 in 2023 in Denver.
I believe 6,500 or total offensive yards will get the Steelers to a 13-4 record, and it’s very attainable.

    • @WordAte
      @WordAte 24 дня назад +2

In my comment I dive into the numbers too. Ravens had 66 offensive snaps last year. Our Defense can give us those opportunities. I see a possibility that we run the ball 30 times a game if we get close to 66 snaps a game. If the Offensive line adds nothing to Harris and Warrens totals and they break at 60% Harris (4ypc) and 40% Warren (5ypc) they will get 132 yards a game on the ground with 2,240 total yards.
If Russ throws for 250 yards a game (total of 4250) and the RBs do a little more than they did last year with a terrible center and tackle, that puts us between Ravens and 49ers offensive numbers, about top 3 or 4. But with 36 pass attempts and Russ' 66% completion rate, he needs about 12.5 ypc to reach that. Pickens averaged 18 ypc last year. And Roman Wilson averaged about 15 throughout college. College is a different game. But his routes are not. He will likely face more press and need to make room at the top of his routes. His 40 and 10 yard split shows he can do that. The RBs will take some of the numbers off the pass average. And Muth averages about 10. We need a chain moving WR 2 to get us to 12 ypc. These are Lamar, Tua, and Stroud numbers. Slightly better than Goff and Stafford. Wilson doesn't need to run. He also takes longer to throw, allowing for the WRs to climb in their routes. If he doesn't need to check off to the RBs or TEs, it is possible. This becomes even more likely with a running game that allows for an effective RPO, which is what I hear Arthur Smith is looking to do.
A good RPO should bring down one safety allowing either Roman or Picken to take the top off the defense for long RAC.
One two three four five. I am definitely counting my chickens well before they hatch. But if this O - line makes up the difference from last year, it is quite possible. Here we go Steelers.

I will say this and I will continue to say it is a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. No, we do not need a star wide receiver. You have to understand that Roman Wilson has has not played one NFL snap so it doesn’t matter what he did in college and if I do say he was a really good wire receiver, not only that, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are well known for developing wide receivers that people never even heard of so no I don’t want the Steelers getting another wide receiver. We’re perfectly fine with what they have now developed, we got and the Team of receivers that are on the Steelers are already good as it is and they have a better offensive coordinator and 3 better quarterbacks to work Witt
