That last minute turn at 200 feet AGL was made with precision and skill. Perfect alignment with the runway. That's not easy even for us with a lot of time in the Bus. Mad skillz sir. Well done.
He is cold as ice and knows the terrain every square inch. Knows exactly where to initiate the turn at 3:05 and then manouvering through terrain so close at bottom and right wong tip also. Had to keep an eye on the speed and also ensure he doesnt overshoot threshold mark by long margin or else there would be a go-around. Also had to safely pass the river and level the plane at last moment just before touchdown by maintaining centerline just few hundred meters before touchdown. Looked so scary towards the end but he made it looked like he was parking his maruti 800 in an open ground. Very proud of you Sir
Really enjoy your videos. No silly soundtracks or commentaries, just really stunning video and natural sound. Best way to experience Paro landing other than in real life.
I‘ve been there myself, super spookiest flight of my entire life, landing in Paro and arriving in the Switzerland of the Himalayas, how stunning. The pilots are especially trained former fighter pilots.
Au contraire. Paro, like several airports in the world require a specific endorsement to land at this airport. They’re not necessarily specially trained former fighter pilots, but they are specially trained. There are only a few pilots with the certification to fly there.
@@garybain2339 It does take special ability to do this approach. You're basically maneuvering and slaloming in between mountain range at approach speed (below 200kts, at landing config), at a very high altitude (+7000 ft) which has thinner air, so one mistake can potentially end your life instantly. It's like Calvi circling approach, but way way extreme.
The approach to runway 33 is far more challenging, but made look easy by theses guys. No automation needed.. Special certification required. Only a handful of airline pilots can land here. I'm hoping to go here next year to experience it. Great approach and landing. Thanks for sharing.
Imagine living in a place like this, waking up in the morning, looking out your window, and seeing those majestic, gorgeous mountains! All I see outside my window is an overgrown lot across the street, and my neighbor's driveway full of old cars out the north window. (The south view is my backyard, and west is a stand of woods, so those views are nice, but nothing like the freaking Himalayas! 😉😁💕)
Bumpy landing lol 😂 not smooth at all. And bumpy runway too. Nice the pilots made it safely though. Good work Captain & 1st officer and cabin crew. God bless.
Druk Air had the BAe 146-100 in use which I like so much. They wanted to order the latest Avro version RJX which was sadly cancelled. That was in 2002. NICE video of the A319! Huge like! Cheers Matt
watching that final approach from the ground was next level scary/awesome! crazy skills involved, props to those guys flying, just another day for them!
Very good video. Congratulations to the pilot and co-pilot of the aircraft and company. Very complex and dificult airfield and landing .To operate as a comercial airpilot in this kind of scenario represent a great skill, experience and responsability
This is Flying with an capital F! These pilots are so highly skilled in landing and taking off from this airport. Only a few pilots are qualified to do so, and it's totally clear why.
That was incredible to watch! And I think the captain hand flew it in the whole way! At least, I didn't hear the usual sounds of the autopilot being switched off.
I’ve heard they don’t operate at night and that diversions due to poor visibility are common since the approaches are 100% visual with no assistance of radars or anything
They don't fly at poor weather conditions or at night. Airplanes going to paro carry more than enough fuel to attempt 2 or more goarounds and still have enough fuel remaining to divert to gawhati airport or Kolkata airport or any other indian airforce base if they are in emergency. There is a lot of airports around bhutan that they can divert to and reach in 20-30mins.
Just right now checked flight radar to see their arrivals & bhutan airlines have a flight diverted to my city "ccu" (kolkata) they were to arrive at paro at 7:40am but they would be landing here probably at 7am as the distance has reduced quite a bit & the passenger will probably board the next flight that goes from ccu to paro at 9:55 or 10:40.
Boas. Top de aterragem. Uma questão, gostaria de tirar para um video meu a aproximação vista dentro do cockpit para incluir num video com uma aproximação minha feita no MSFS2020, seria possivel?
I have a question. Love to find out. Maybe Radhika could ask her dad. Let's say, you are flying this approach and you are 10 miles out, or 5, and you lose an engine... Normally, you want to land as soon as possible, but this approach not only has to be flown with precision, but the runway is not very long, and now you have only half of the thrust reverser capacity. Can you still make a safe landing using more brakes than usual or do you need to divert to another airport? =PC=

Yes 👍
Very skilfully handled the like stall on short finals 👏👏👏😍
@@shamimkhan5874 Not sure what you're referring to. Speed was in "managed" mode the entire time. Airspeed didn't budge from Vapp.
Wrong, the very last left turn was at 100 ft (33 m).
Quite challenging, indeed!

Woowwww you must be so proud of your dad, only 18 Captains can land on PARO Bhutan and first officers not allowed to land the aircraft there

Yup
Back to COD with you boys. 😆

yeah me 2:)
i cant even find the runway on flightsim. lol.
I'm so glad we have an accurate rendition of this airport in MSFS 2020.
That's an insane approach! Very skilled flying by the crew.

Incredible flying. It was a bit harsh from the plane to call him a retard, I thought he did a wonderful job.
This is the comment I came looking to see and you did not disappoint. Kudos sir. 😆
The plane is just insecure and was lashing out.
How does one describe the excellence of the piloting? Utterly brilliant!

Great pilots.
night landings are not allowed here
they don't land night times, normally!

Still trying to master this challenge in MSFS2020. Would it be easier to land from the other direction?
RWY 33 is easier!
Beautifully executed.
That landing strip is tucked away for sure. Great job, pilots!
Trying this with a 737 Zibo Mod on X-Plane 11, not so easy. Is this easier with a A320 Airbus?
Its not an easy place to fly into with a jet... maybe try it with a prop
