I think the problem is Adam's he did little to nothing in the off season. He's still on the friends and family plan. He should have been fired first and let the new GM decide. He picked this coach and it didn't he used his shot. Now its time for him to move on.

100% he failed us in the off season, assuming pegula didn't hold him back

Power did good this season? Yeah he did great letting the other team score. He did even better letting them score while he was on the penalty kill with Clifford. Sabres need a head coach that won't baby these sensitive players and bag skate that pour puck chasing play out of them.

Power has been a plus player every season, he’s never been a minus player at any point.

@@charlieb308 That means nothing. Look at his play every game. He is a great forward and a horrible D man. Look at how much he chases the puck. Its a little late for that as the season is over, but if you are able to watch a full game, I encourage you to pay close attention to how he plays and disregard the stats. Also, hopefully a new coach comes and changes everything, but Power would have to change how he plays and the whole team would have to stop chasing the puck. Power got a little better at the start of this season compared to last season, then he went back to his old softie puck chasing ways.

@@paullastnamehere3295 have you just started watching hockey? Did you know defensemen take longer to develop? Chara, Pronger and Hedman all were just average until year 5, Power was in year 2. Big players like Power and Tage take longer to develop. Power was very good so far in his own zone, he just needs to be a little meaner

@@charlieb308 If only there was a way for a player to develop during the season. It would be great for the team to send players to a minor team so they can work on their skill level and learn how to play their position. They can also work on strength and conditioning. When a player is injured or needs a break, the team could easily bring them up and see how they have progressed in the minor team. Oh wait, that is already in place for almost all of the teams. Power could have gone to Rochester and worked on not turning the puck over or not chasing the puck or passing to his team mate and not the other team or blocking shots that are coming from the blue line as the team chips it in for a change.
I have been watching hockey for decades. When I watch teams like the Canes or Oilers, the defense knows what they are doing. They know to stay in position and when they don't, they pay for their mistake. Power and other players on the Sabres are so young and not mentally tough enough to jump straight into this league. That is why there is a minor team.
There are exceptions to rookies that can instantly play, but that exception is limited to players that can play. Power, and a few other young Sabres, have shown over and over that they are not ready. The whole team looks more like an AHL team playing in the NHL.
Also, their stats look great on paper as they have some amazing games. They can look like a team that is in the playoffs with players working their butt off each shift and going to the bench to work on their breathing technique to get ready for their next shift; this happens about 40% of the season while other teams do it more like 80%. The Sabres like to bring the defense into the offense to make plays and get some great results. Power looks better playing as a winger and makes some spectacular goals that aid to his stats.

@@charlieb308 I have been watching hockey for a few decades. I watch a lot of hockey including Sabres, Canes, Rangers, Oilers, and Coyotes. I watch almost all of their games. I would love to watch AHL games, but I don't know how. Speaking of the AHL, that is where players that can't compete in the NHL go to develop so they might have a chance of being called up to the NHL. In my opinion, that is where Power belongs to develop his defensive skills.
Power is great at being a winger and this helps with his stats. Actually watching him play from last year to this year, I can see some growth in some games while most of the time he is still flopping around like a drunken buffoon on skates in the D zone when he should be staying in position and not chasing the puck. As for being meaner, I doubt this will happen. I doubt Power will ever get an attitude that will help his game. I will say he has had some nice hits and some nice defensive plays, but I could do the same with a bad knee and a bad back. Yes, I do play in an adult hockey and have won league championships. No, my skill is not even close to Power's skill, but my point is that even for an old guy, staying in position to block pucks is better than chasing the puck and getting beat by a faster skater or by a pass that could have been disrupted by being in position. Power, and probably the entire Sabres team, needs to know this.
Hopefully, the new head coach unplucks the heads of some of these players and gets them going so they are not playing D for so long allowing them to get back to being a high scoring team.
