  • The Buffalo Bills got a lot of negative comments due to trading out of the 1st round. But Scooter breaks down why this draft class is better than might initially think.

    Keon's playing speed is fast enough, he'll be fine.

    You know who was slower in the 40yd than Keon Coleman? Jerry Rice. And Jerry did OK.

    Beane started the day without a third round pick. At the end of day 1 they had a third round pick and the first pick in the second round. According to them they got the guy they wanted.

    WR Burton, from Alabama, the 3rd round pick of the Bengals, who was talked up by the Athon draft mag, said he did a 1.53 in the 10 yard run, while Coleman did it in 1.54. But, then I heard it said some draftniks said he might not get open with mam-to-man coverage-zone might be his game. We'll know soon enough in training camp. Burton also had 4 red flags and may have dropped some balls he should have caught.

      Fair point, which is why we touched on him being able to go up and get the ball and not having many drops in his college career. He should be someone Josh Allen can lean on and trust

    I thought the Bills had one of the better drafts overall & the best in their division. Didn't know it was so looked down on. Cole Bishop was in my eyes the third best safety prospect (and he was the third taken) & Davis was my favorite day 3 RB. Van Pran is probably their future starting C & they got him in the 5th.

    Beane has earned the benefit of the doubt over the last 3 years on his picks. Look at the unbelievable talent he has picked in rounds 2-5 over the last 3 years.

    As a fan (Buffalo fan) it's going interesting to see how WRs that were picked towards the end of the first round and second round compare in future years. By trading down, Beane has put the onus on himself and Coleman. More than anything, Beane's "mismanagement" of the cap, and so much dead cap has put the Bills at advantage this season for acquiring UFAs.

    • @peteg2715
      @peteg2715 23 дня назад +2

      Trading down with KC & letting them get their pick of the litter of the remaining WRs is a very questionable move (Although not as head-scratching as Washington letting Philly come up to 40 to get DeJean). I think Legette might be the WR they regret passing up when they look back at this draft..but I do like the Coleman pick.

    Pula Nakua ran a similar 40 and a similar gauntlet. Also I see him as tee Higgins. Same exact 40. Don’t think he’s a true number one but I could see 80-1100-10 as an average for the next few years.

    Legette, who was selected with the No. 32 overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Panthers, signed a four-year, $12,357,176 deal with a signing bonus of $5,807,036
    Keon Coleman should sign a four-year deal for $9,995,490. It includes an expected signing bonus of $4,089,448. I really don't think they traded down to save. I think they traded down with the Chiefs b/c they didn't like worthy and then traded down again b/c they didn't like Legette. Many scouts are now saying this WR draft class was way overrated. I think I'll take Beane's opinion over the BeardZone posse.

    Steve Smith's take on Keon is that he's a huge question mark, because he's going to have to learn new skills in the NFL. Keon's college resume came from working in the slot and catching jump balls. He raised two concerns: 1) NFL DB's are far more athletic, so the jump ball routes won't work as well. Josh Allen probably won't even target him unless he gets separation. 2) Bills are deep and talented with slot threats, and rookie Keon isn't going to outcompete Dalton Kincaid, Shakir, or even Curtis Samuel for that share of the playbook.

    Im giving u a C for clueless. Mind you we will not be able to see for months,,, ,,,, "C",, what? grade ..go ahead back to KC ...Bean did fantastically.. I know Cap was an issue. The class was weak... as a whole. ..I'm happy so for Shorter you must add into the WR ,, I'm extremely happy ..27 yrds against KC from Diggs and Davis combined .. FACT. Keshir really improved, especially last 3 games.. . End of Last year it was obvious the 2 Great WR that were so valuable were not home Davis at the end was letting the team down. Diggs was low energy,, and ESPN Steven A every day DIGGs wants off TEAM. controversy-filled, those last 3 games were best not,,, on my viewing. ,KC no show... Miami and before Diggs's best games. The rest to me thou good but were spotty. Just was not what I would say best of.

    He was the fastest in the gauntlet the past 2 years. Does a track stance and a 40 Time really mean more than hands and catching???? This was posted 2 days ago with 1k views I'm just going to say I'm not sure how valid this video is. The one guy mentions Keons 40 time, however in the gauntlet drill- which involves catching and running he was the fastest in the last 2 years. Meanwhile, you can't even take the time research. Not everyone can get in a track stance and explode. Keon is 6'4 and not a track star. I think vision and hands are more important than speed. He did well returning kickoffs b/c he has vision and can see the field. yeah, he's not a track star. Some of the fastest 40 times turn out to be not NFL talent. Speed is great but vision and hands are way more important.
    you can't even say Xavier Legette. LOL
