      you have to a least question that if they still cant make the playoffs. As a Sabres fan, I don't see that from Thompson, Tuch, Dahlin, and Cozens who are the backbone of this team but again who knows what's going on in the locker room. Sounds a lot like Donny was more of a buddy then a coach. Maybe they need somebody who is not a friend to get over that playoff hump.

    Sabres have such a good prospect pool. Arguably the best in the NHL. They need a coach that can turn that into a productive scoring team. Can’t believe it’s been 13 years since they made playoffs

    • @kobyschechter8163
      @kobyschechter8163 2 месяца назад

      They haven’t made the playoffs since 2011. In a league that sent more than half its teams to the playoffs prior to Vegas and Seattle joining the league. The NHL sends half its teams to the playoffs nowadays. The Sabres were one of the seven teams that did not have a good enough record to qualify for the bubble playoffs in 2020. They have blown through so many coaches and general managers along the way.

  • @Implicit_Truth

    Sabres are my 2nd favorite team, behind the Islanders. The biggest difference I notice in following the two teams is that the Sabres just seem unserious. Lot of young guys who haven't learned discipline or a winning mentality from vets who've had successful careers. I think this team needs an old school guy with the GM's ear who isn't afraid to get the GM to move guys that can't get serious about winning.

    • @drake7309
      @drake7309 9 месяцев назад

      First off the sabres and islanders are in very different spots, isles run is almost over and they know that, you cant say that these guys dont want to win games. Its literally there defensive position, if you watched how many goals would have been stopped this year if Dahlin doesnt do a fly by

    • @Implicit_Truth
      @Implicit_Truth 9 месяцев назад

      @@drake7309 Totally agree that they're in very different different spots, they're almost exactly opposite in terms of where the roster is and what the future looks like. I'm just saying that the players seem more content with losing than fans would like to see. It's impossible to actually know what's going on in the locker room, but on the ice that's what I see, at-least. Celebrating, laughing, etc for winning games at the end of the 13th season in a row without playoffs, I just think it's indicative of an unserious group. Just my 2 cents.

    The Sabres haven’t qualified for the playoffs since 2011. Them and the New York Jets of the NFL have the two longest active playoff droughts in North American sports. The Jets will likely miss the playoffs for a 14th consecutive season. There’s a LOT of dysfunction in that organization. Prior to Vegas and Seattle joining the league, the NHL sent more than half its teams to the playoffs. Buffalo was one of the seven teams that did not qualify to go to the bubble playoffs in 2020. I'm a hawks fan at heart, but I want to respect all the other teams without the petty bias BS. I truly would LOVE TO see the sabres in the playoffs competing against the best of the best cause talent wise ITS THEIR I agree they need a coach that is going to raise the standard AND accountability to the players and reach a whole new level of team chemistry, raise the intensity, and hold them accountable to the smallest things. I really want to see the sabres in the playoffs after a long drought and the misery of multiple bad gm's and the unfortunate departure of Eichel. Quennville might be a descent candidate but my gut is telling me red flags NO.....yes he deserves a second chance after the incident with the hawks but I feel like his philosophy is outdated and I'm not sure if he can adapt to the game today.
