The instrumental actually sounds very nice but I think the singer's could have more strength in their vocals. If I had to rate it out of ten I'd give it a solid 6/10. Nothing more, nothing less
In my opinion the instruments and bgm they use sucks
And the voices are kind of good but they don't use the high notes or the original lyrics etc. And that sucks
So overall 4/10
Yeah, I like the vocals more in this than the original but other than that the heathers is better
I actually used the instrumental and swapped the vocal lyrics to the original heathers lyrics, and I gotta say it's pretty good. I'd give it a 7/10

Actually, the producers just chose to get rid of the top harmony. McNamara and 2 others do the higher one and Duke and 1 other does the bottom. Here, they just have Duke and McNamara do the bottom part. I think it sounds better that way though.

My main complaint is how "Pop" it is, tuning and keys throughout this entire version makes it feel like a cheap studio cover, all of these just don't feel like they could be put anywhere near a stage, mic hugging in the soundbooth doesn't translate to stage diction and performance, the only song that's meh is Seventeen because it has the least changes and it's bearable but this is not quality for me

I don’t mind the lyrical change, it doesn’t bother me, since I did a cover in school. However, the voices had no emotion, were incredibly flat, and did not harmonize. This could have been so much better if they had just put a little more effort in on the directors (or whoever would be in charge of recording this) part.

Two of my favorite things in the original song was the aggression in the lyrics and the fierce voices of the singers. This song has neither of them. I feel like I’ve deflated

@@hdhdhedhdh986 Harmonies are basically where each voice type (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) sing a different line so you can hear different notes being sung together. The original trio of Heathers is made up of a Soprano, a Mezzo and an Alto. On the soundtrack, you can hear Mac belting her high harmony during the choruses. You can look up the different vocal parts if you're curious

Guys, the setting of riverdale is that they are in high school. Heathers has a high school version where they changed a lot of the lyrics they had to do the high school version

Andres Castillo ok they do all that out of school not in. They are doing a school musical meaning it had to be the high school version. And yes they have said those words but they are teenagers of course are going to say that. But would a high school put on the original version of heathers, yeah sometimes, but most likely they are going to do the high school version so they don’t get in a lot of trouble from parents. Also literally at the start of the episode it was basically just that the parents were mad about them doing heathers. But the school couldn’t get into much trouble because they are doing the high school version.

Technically they did sing the original lyrics, theres a high school version of the musical and that's what they did. I think they only changed a couple lines to fit names and such in.

It’s so baffling that they would censor the lyrics given the content that normally appears on the show.
Also they did Josie dirty. If you’re gonna spend the episode turning it into a conflict between Cheryl and Toni, why not do the original version for the soundtrack?
That being said, the singing itself is definitely better here than in the episode. It’s just that none of them have the training or sass to convincingly pull it off.

@@jamiehood850 I am a big fan of Heather's, both musical and film yes the songs are changed but the original was crude and used swears so clearly it needed to be changed. I agree this song the voices are flat but come one it's still a good episode
