It's interesting because this one works for humid cold weather, in hot places it should be important as well but I rarely see that. And I didn't see a shower but that would be a problem un such weather hahaha

this is absolutely stunning. using leather latches is so incredibly smart...prevents anyone from accidentally hurting themselves walking into metal latches in a small area

Exactly that was the plan. Also when leaving the bed that handles will not accidently be knocked off. The leather latches work wonders and I love the feeling of using them.

Exactly the sort of attention to detail I hope to put into mine when I build it given we have pretty wet weather much of the year in Britain rust prevention is a MUST! So well done! (It astonishes me the number of people who overlook this on van builds! It seems so obvious!?) Glad you did such a fantastic job! Really impressed with the skill and level of quality you put into it from start to finish and great tips and advice thrown in aswell! First, thank you with all my heart for such an elaborated comment. This is surely one of the biggest feedback comments I have gotten on my channel so far. I appreciate it very much that you have taken some extra time to leave me this message, thank you for this. And I totally agree, rust prevention is in general not done with any car --> The majority of cars are eaten up alive throughout the years by rust. I won´t say there is a cure, but there certainly is a method to degrease it´s progression by a far bit and I believe to have shown one of the best rust prevention treatments that I have discovered so far in this video.
About a van build series: I am really considering it in the near future.

Awesome built! It is one of an amazing sprinter van conversions I had seen on RUclips. If anyone wants to get their mind off of something then they could take on a project like this big and whatever worrisome, sadness, grief, etc. will no longer be bothering them during the project and over the times whatever if it is still lingering there, it will just be getting wet in the rain.
Hey InTheWorks Camp-in RV, I really like your perspective on building a van like this. I also believe that a project like this can be very motivating and also inspiring for oneself as one has to permanently deal with little issues and find creative solutions. And after such a project one never knows what crazy ideas one can get by finding out what one is actually capable in building with one's hands and little experience. I believe especially as you mentioned on times like these, during the pandemic it can be a soul soothing thing.

I'm glad to hear that there might be some helpful infos in this video. Traveling with 4 dogs sounds like an adventure, my maximum were 2 dogs. And I exactly like you started with a more spartan camper build. You can find it also on my channel, it was an old VW T4. To be honest one only needs enough space for the dogs and a bed... The rest is called living 🥳. The vans become better and better... But what we really need is a starry night and a campfire with loved ones and a bed. I kind of miss my spartan T4 camper... It was so simple that it made every night so much more creative as there wasn't enough space and everything had to be moved and pulled out and the small gaa cooker etc etc... But at the end those are the beautiful memories from traveling with less :). I will upload some more videos about this fiat ducato and show all functions and the van in use. Hopefully I see you around Thomas.

Since I finished the van I just drove to Sweden and parked it, so I haven´t used it more then the 2 days driving up here. And someone broke already into the parked van luckely the van is still here, I will make a video about how to make a van safer and reduce the risk of burglaries soon. Also a Room-tour video, a budget video, our first trip video and more. I hope to see you around Fire Cook48.

Woah a box truck conversion!! That's a project! This is actually a dream of mine in the next years. With your box truck you can really go offgrid for undefinte periods of times. I'm really happy you found some valuable information in my van build. I'm sure given enough time (like I needed) you create a van just like this one! I thought just like you not long ago. This is a edited endproduct. My ideal shower at the back of the van.
Slide out heavy duty board that then hooks on to the edge of both doors, so you don’t stand on the ground.
Then a very short awning that comes out covering the top to only the edge of the doors from the roof of the van if it rains, if not then you can shower in open sky.
And lastly a shower curtain that wraps around the rectangular space your in.
Or to be safer and avoiding strong winds, can also install a fold out panel from the doors to connect and lock.
So you basically have another extra opened space from the back of the van that can also be use for a projector screen to binge movies during camping with friends.

I like your input! That's a very good idea. Especially the lock idea, I was out recently with the van and had the trunk doors open. A wind blow and they closed, this was the moment I realized they don't hold by themselves. I'll definitely install a lock system to hold them open.

Planning my first build in my old VW T4, first thoughts were a bed a maybe a storage but somehow it develops from there and the T4 project bacame way bigger (also on my channel) and then I tried several things and only 3 years later I build the Fiat Ducato Van... It's a progress of your skills. But if you never try you will never give yourself the chance to develope. No master is ever fallen from the sky. Behind a good performance are always thousands of hours of research/training/failing. And you are doing the first steps for your van and this means your on the road to success. Success is the continuous unfolding of the design of your own personal life and pulling it off. Exactly what you are doing.
Never give up and you'll figure it all out, through the good and the bad days. Many frustrating moments will come up during a build, but just take another steo nomatter how small 😊.

If its spending time with your partner, grandparents, talking to a neighbour or in this case building a Camper. I once heared that by giving one’s best it will positively affect the entire community. I think only through sharing and helping each other we will all come further in life than we ever believed. By trying my best in this build I got a comment from you, otherwise we would have probably never even heard from each other, and now I want it to be an positiv and impactful contact. I hope this all makes a positive impact in your life. If yes, it is true, by giving our best the entire community gets positively affected by it.
